Such a fun and easy read! I loved this modern retelling based on greek mythology. You get sprinkles of past stories mixed in with modern times. The story follows Agatha, niece of medusa, as she is trying to find her kidnapped cousin. It has humor mixed with spice!!
Couldn’t wait to read this Greek mythology novella by one of my favorite authors!! If you love - fated mates - Greek myth retelling a - fast burn romance - spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️
I highly recommend this novella!! And can you say HELLO new book boyfriend Ajax 👀 and there is more??! I can’t wait for the next release.
I loved this book so much! Not only were the characters amazing, but I loved the Greek Mythology that was sprinkled in. I enjoyed the storyline and the history of the characters! I would definitely recommend this book to others!!!
A tale of Eternals, Witchcraft and Mythological Legends come to life. Prepare to be catapulted into the lives of Medusa’s kinfolk, a kidnapping and betrayal transfixing the reader until the very end.
This story did wonders for Greek mythology. It gives you the other side of the Gorgons. Johanna Dee blended the old with new so well. She did her research on Greek mythology so well and it shows in this story. The two main characters Agatha and Ajax make for a wonderful story and how they grow throughout the story. Give this book a try and see how you like it! I recommend it, and I'm ready for the next installment because I'm needing to know what happens next!
Wow. Greek mythology with an intriguing and thrilling modern twist. I love Aggie’s character, she’s smart, strong, and independent, but can also be vulnerable. Ajax was interesting, at first he just seems like a mercenary, but the more you get to know him, the more layers you uncover. The imagery is quite vivid, and it feels like you’re standing right next to the characters watching it all unfold. The story moves along at a fairly quick pace, and you’re drawn in from the very first page. There’s a little bit of mystery, and a lot of tension, and I don’t just mean between Aggie and Ajax! (Although those two were clearly meant to be together just from how they react to each other when they meet). One of my favorite parts of this is it pulls from Greek mythology but adds some new things to it. I love the idea of the three gorgon sisters having daughters that grew up together, forming lasting bonds of friendship that run deep. The blending of myth and modern times and new elements was done seamlessly and uniquely. I cannot wait to see what book two has in store!
I did not enjoy this book as much as the second one, though I do find with a lot of series' that the second book is better than the first. My main problem was - where was the betrayal? I do not count what he did as betrayal at all! Maybe that's just my personal viewpoint lol! I loved Ajax, and his willingness to jump in and help the women he had just met. I also loved his ability and the things it meant he was able to do throughout the story. I loved Ajax's reaction to Aggie's snakes ❤️! I also loved that the girls didn't crumble and we're very independent, despite accepting help from Ajax. This was not a story of a man swooping in to save the helpless damsel - it was two strong women off to save the day, while begrudgingly accepting the help of a man! Would definitely recommend this series!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶🌶 Trigger Warnings: Strained relationship between mother and daughter Death Discrimination against men Theft Lying On page sex Kidnapping Cliffhanger
Betrayal of the Gorgon brings us ancient Greek mythology in a modern day setting. Johnna does a great job as always with developing some wonderful characters. She brings us mystery, uncertainty, and romance. The turmoil between Aggie, the FMC, and Ajax, the MMC, is palpable. Johnna really brings their feelings to life. This one is a cliffhanger, so book two is definately needed. I look forward to reading what happens next.
This first installment of the Gorgo series is a short story with a good amount of action and a dash of romance. This story is in Agatha's and Ajax's POV; throughout their journey to get back Elysium, Agatha’s cousin. It had a good plot and characters and a lot of potential for a bigger story. The end leaves you in a cliffhanger.
This is turning out to be a favorite series for me. I have always loved Greek Mythology and these are some of the best Greek retelling I've ever read. This one was about Aggie and Ajax. I love these characters so much. I can't wait to get into the third book. Absolutely phenomenal.
I loved the characters. New book boyfriend is Ajax! Such a fun read that I could not put down! Bringing Greek myth into modern times with a twist. We get to meet Medusa s nieces and her daughter. The characters are relatable and fun to follow.
You had me at Medusa's niece and I kept reading from there. I can't wait to read the next one. Kidnapping, stalking, etc. Check your trigger warnings. Loved this book such a fun and quick read.
