Delia Benoist is everyone’s rival, nobody’s true friend. Yet as she enters her thirties, she’s coming around to the idea of meaningful bonds, including romance.
The last place she expects to find a relationship, though, is in a club built around hooking up.
A one-night stand doesn’t just blow her mind. It blows up Delia’s whole concept of love and romance!
One hot relationship. Zero realistic possibilities.
Helena Pierce has been running from her past for as long as she’s been out of high school. With a fake ID, she’s convinced some of America’s most depraved denizens that she’s really twenty-one, not nineteen.
Even Delia, her new situationship, doesn’t know the truth.
As they become more inseparable, however, the truth threatens to burst their sensual bubble.
Zero chances. Infinite potential.
The most unlikely romantic couple in New England shouldn’t have lasted this long. Delia, everyone’s rival, and Helena, the town sugar baby, fully intend to only use each other and be on their ways.
Yet Helena’s past is quickly closing in on her, and Delia can only resist the call to romance for so long.
Will they stagnate and implode? Or will they flourish on the journey to mutual maturation?
It’s a naughty love affair for the ages, as one little bucket list attests!
Can you find love when you’re only looking to play?
Mind the warnings in the front of the book.
Well written. Sexy. Emotional. BDSM. Both MCs tried to downplay their attraction and desire for one another, yet couldn’t seem to NOT stay together. Both had perfect character development but especially Helena. Although still young at the end, her emotional growth went from 0-60. Well Delia did too really, and pleasantly so. Recommend!
While this isn't one of my favorite CD/HB books, it's worth the read. Helena is a nineteen year old using a gap year to find and express herself. She's older than her years in many ways but her youth still comes through in other ways. She lives in a world where most people don't really pay attention to those things. Delia meets Helena in the club and sparks fly from there. Getting to know each other wasn't part of the plan but as they spend more time together, more could be on the horizon for them. The lie Helena keeps threatens their happily ever after, and don't forget the ex who lurks in the shadows for a moment to bring Helena back into the fold. I found myself drifting in a couple of areas where my attention wasn't as riveted as in most of CD/HB books but for me, I didn't develop as much of a connection as I'm used to into the characters.
This is another great read by Hildred/Cynthia and a nice return to characters and events detailed in the other titles in the Billionaire series.
The progression of Helena and Delia's relationship is organically good and comes with a suitable sprinkling of hotness and spiciness.
My only slightly negative comment is that it felt like it took quite far into the story before we see any hint of WHY Helena is making the choices she does. It's almost like two separate stories: 1. The hookup, 2. The evolution of love.
Definitely worth a read and delivers a hot and spicy HEA you need to escape with.
*I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.*
The story handled its themes as delicately as possible I think. But Helena's headspace is tough to be in. It makes much of the sex scenes not really as engaging despite how well written.
It wasn't even her age or her trauma pur se I guess the Fantasy of what she wanted and was pursuing just felt hollow. It also could be I have read too many of these kind of rich girl poor girl sub fantasy books by now. This one just made it seem more hollow with her background because the fantasy was even less real then usual. I guess I just wasn't in the mood for this one.
Started out with a bang but sizzled out for me. The book is good but I couldn't connect with the characters. Their emotions seemed stunted and heavy for me. I need some light to balance the dark in the stories.
Helena, being young doesn't mean not knowing who you are, but scr*wing & not telling a person over decade your senior when your 18 omg you know the drama! This story was really stressfully hot and I loved it!
Helena and Delia were a couple with strong sexual urges. Two peas in a pod. The story had excellent pace, easy to follow and understand. Highly recommended.
Helena is young knows what she wants but goes about it all the wrong way. When she meets Delia things change. She is happy and Delia seems to know what she wants and doesn't treat her like a kid like everyone else. The one thing that Helena is hiding is the one thing that Delia has a problem with. A wonderful story that could be any young girls dream the risks are very high but when you find THE one you know.
