Faking It For The Architect

Rate this book
Faking it never felt so good...

Alice
When my roommate, Annie, needs me to pose as her to interview the city's scariest architect I think twice. I might be a writer by trade but a journalist I am not. And Denton is terrifying. In every gloriously handsome way. Having kept his personal life private since an expose revealed his tough upbringing, becoming part of his world feels like an impossibility.

Denton
When a pretty journalist falls and lands in my lap I'm instantly smitten, though I keep the lusty feelings hidden beneath my stern exterior. I don't like mixing with the media at all, preferring the quiet space of my home office, working on projects that can change the lives of the people who call our city home. But Annie's quiet kindness brings out my softer side as she quickly becomes the best part of my life.

Can Alice maintain her facade as her roommate Annie, or will her attraction to Denton bring the whole charade tumbling down?

Nell Alexander writes swoony, feel-good romances with just the right amount of spice and sparkle. She's the kind of author who laughs at her own jokes, cries at Christmas adverts, and firmly believes that a cozy blanket and a cream bun can solve almost anything. When she's not busy dreaming up fictional small towns and swoon-worthy heroes, Nell’s probably dancing in the kitchen, binge-watching old romcoms, or reorganizing her bookshelves for the millionth time. Fun, flirty, and always up for a good meet-cute—Nell’s stories are your next happy place.

This was a nice, quick fun read. It’s written well, the characters are interesting and the storyline is catchy. This is a great addition to your library for whenever you want to grab a quick book to curl up with for an hour or two, this one will do nicely.

5 ⭐️s= Perfect story, exciting, engrossing, well developed complex characters, solid plot with few to no holes, descriptive environments and place settings, great mystery elements, realistic dialogue, believable reactions and behaviors, loved this story so much I’d buy it.

4 ⭐️s= Great story, highly entertaining and enjoyable, exciting storyline, well developed characters and settings, a few discrepancies but nothing that can’t be overlooked. Believable actions and reactions, realistic dialogue, a book I would consider buying.

3 ⭐️s= Good but not great story, noticeable discrepancies, grammatical and or spelling errors, undeveloped characters or unbelievable behaviors but still readable. Nothing majorly wrong with the story, just not interesting enough for me to continue. Would not buy the book.

2 ⭐️s= Not offended by the story, but not interested enough to finish. Unbelievable characters, poor writing, many mistakes, big holes or discrepancies, many spelling or grammatical errors, characters not believable, unlikeable or TSTL.

1 ⭐️= Offensive, extremely poor writing, horrible characters, victimization, gaslighting, blatant abuse, unnecessary violence, child endangerment, or any other highly objectionable behaviors by Main characters. Would never buy this book, and do not recommend it to anyone.

This is a unique story and throws a twist on the fake story line.

Alice was asked by her roommate/ friend to help with an interview as she double book herself. Alice went to the interview with Denton, who prefers his privacy which has people think he has something to hide.

Denton is excited about the project that he is trying to promote, but the interviews are not his thing. When one journalist, does not respect his guidelines, she decides to try to trash his reputation.

The connection between Alice and Denton is strong. Denton wants Alice to write an article to counter the trash talk, but he finds out that she is not who he thinks she is and shatters her world, but she shows him she is more than he thinks.

Loved the story, the characters and the heat.

This is a great story. I couldn't put it down. I couldn't wait to see what happen next between Alice and Denton.

Alice's roommate needed her to pretend to be her for an interview. She couldn't be in two places at the same time. Alice knows that it would be a mistake but agrees. Denton hates doing interviews but this new project is important to him. When he says the wrong thing, he needs to do damage control. He agrees to allow Alice to shadow him for a week. They have a connection. What will happen when he discovers the truth about who she is?

Alice and Denton's Story . . .

Alice James’ roommate, Annie, has two critical interviews to do but can’t cover the two at the same time, so she begs Alice to pretend to be her for an interview of an architect who tries to keep to himself. Denton knows the damage the press can do to a reputation. But his latest architectural project is too important to keep quiet about.

Denton, a man who uses his talent to help others, to give them a better life than he had, is immediately attracted to Alice. He sees qualities in her that he can appreciate. But how will he react if he finds out that she has misled him? Will her betrayal damage his project… and his heart?

I went in this totally blind…when read from booksprout and not description! I’m definitely glad I read it, cause there’s usually some tropes that’ll stop me in my tracks. If you enjoy insta-love, just makes you laugh randomly, little miscommunication and can read under an hour…if you don’t go back and reread the best parts lol! I did enjoy this quick read and there is some spice but again you had to have room for the plot too, if your wanting just spicy time…they have a genre for that lol!!!.

Denton and Alice start off on the wrong for when she is asked to pose as her friend in order to get an interview with him. When his reputation is in question e calls Alice to grant a detailed interview in his life which puts them in close proximity with their feelings at stake. Will Denton feel the same when he finds out that the woman, he has become close to is a fake? This story drew me in and had me all caught up in their drama! I was cheering for Denton and Alice to get a HEA!.

I enjoyed reading Faking it for the Architect. This is a very enjoyable story. The characters are enjoyable and I enjoy the chemistry between them. I don’t want to spoil any part of the story, so I won’t give details. Please read the book blurb for some information. I recommend reading this story. I like to read these in between the longer books I tend to read.

Short and sweet. Faking It for the Architect will have you opening your hearts to Denton who tries to shield from the world. But like a wrecking ball, Alice comes tripping into his life by replacing her roommate for an interview on Denton. You can’t believe everything you read and see in the press. Heartfelt novella that will have you wishing for more.

okay

Alice and Denton were okay for a quick read. While I enjoyed the story there was still something about them that didn’t quite connect for me. Otherwise the story was entertaining.

It’s so hard to review novellas, because there’s not a lot of content - this here is less than 60 pages. BUT I will say that there was an actual plot here and I really really enjoyed it!

I loved Book 1 of Faking It. Denton is being interviewed for his latest architectural project. Alice is doing a favor for her friend who is a journalist. They have a connection but he doesn’t know the truth and when it comes out it ruins everything. Can Denton forgive Alice? A great, heartfelt story. I loved the storyline and the characters. I would definitely recommend this book and I’m looking forward to more.
