Is it worth looking to the past to find your future?
According to this article, I might’ve already met my soulmate . . .
And I missed my chance to find the love of my life.
It's the cherry on top of an already doomed situation. If I don’t find my own date for my sister’s wedding, I’m stuck with the worst groomsman as a date.
The answer is simple: go on a quest to reunite with my exes and figure out where everything went wrong—or right.
The execution…not so much: Out of desperation, I accept help from the least likely source.
The secret weapon: Ethan Montgomery, notorious womanizer, brother of the groom, and my consolation prize if I can’t bring a real date to the wedding. Unsurprisingly, he’s also invested in not being my date for our siblings’ wedding and is willing to help me at all costs.
The complication: As we navigate through a maze of my past relationships, unexpected feelings begin to surface, blurring the lines between our roles as partners-in-crime and something more.
The decision: With time running out and the wedding fast approaching, I must choose between giving love a second chance with one of my exes or taking a leap of faith into the unknown with Ethan.
The outcome: Will this journey lead me to my true soulmate, or will I discover that the love I've been searching for has been beside me all along?
The Ex-cavenger Hunt is a light romantic comedy full of heart, humor, and the occasional awkward reunion.
I was not expecting how deliciously spicy this book became after the 55% mark! The narrator’s seriously committed to bringing the spice alive and I freaking loved it! The chemistry between Lily and Ethan was OFF THE CHARTS.
“𝘐’𝘮 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘦𝘷𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶.”
Lily is on an adventure to find all of her ex’s to try to see if maybe one of them were “The One” or where it all went wrong. She desperately needs a date to her sister’s wedding because otherwise she’ll have to go with the groom’s brother, Ethan. From what she’s been told Ethan is awful.
When Ethan finds out his parents are coming into town to stay with him he is searching for a way out of it. He happens to over hear Lily’s conversation about going on a cross country roadtrip and he jumps on the chance to not only get out of town, but also spend more time with her.
Lily and Ethan had instant chemistry. Lily is searching for her forever man and Ethan is thinking that just might be him. Ethan was so head over heels in love with her, my heart couldn’t handle it! I loved how there was no 3rd act breakup in this story! Ethan and Lily help each other stand up to the families.
If you love forced proximity romances with the guy falls head over heels in love with the girl who’s just trying to find love, go add 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐱-𝐂𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐇𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝐛𝐲 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐞, to your TBR today! I highly recommend the audiobook!
This rom-com is exactly what you want to read/listen if you’re in that kind of mood. It hit all the right notes for me. It was fun, entertaining, and unique. The chemistry was zinging and deliciously spicy. Lily and Ethan’s story made me happy. It wasn’t complicated or full of angst, rather it was easy to get lost in the audiobook and just enjoy. My ears had a really great time with this on! I adored the story, and the narration just made it all the more fun! Well done all around! I’m already anticipating reading the next book hopefully this coming up weekend!
If you’re in the mood for a cute, flirty, swoony story, you’ve come to the right place! Do the thing! :)
Thank you Hambright PR for introducing me to yet another wonderful author and the opportunity to listen to this audiobook!
This was such a fun read! I really enjoyed the premise of this. Lily needs to find a date for her sister's wedding so she goes on to hunt down her ex's to see if they can rekindle their romance or why it fell flat.
I really liked Lily and Ethan's dynamic. Ethan never seen himself settling down but with Lily things change. I thought they had some funny and sweet moments. I wish the book was long so their feelings and romance developed more.
The audio was great. A very fast read. The narrator's was 🤌🏻
This is a delightful romance that perfectly blends humor, heart, and a dash of chaos. The chemistry between Lily and Ethan is electric from the get-go. Their banter is witty, their adventures are wildly entertaining, and their gradual realization of what they truly need is heartwarming. Each encounter with Lily’s exes brings its own set of laughs and awkward moments, making you root even more for the inevitable conclusion that Lily and Ethan are perfect for each other. It’s a fun, feel-good read that’s perfect for anyone who enjoys a good romantic comedy with some really good spice. Highly recommended for your next beach read or cozy night in!
🎧𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄🎧 Jason is one of my favorites and as always, he was fantastic. His voice has this comforting, familiar deep tone that I come to love. Stephanie was new to me, and it was a pleasant surprise, I'm looking forward to hearing more from her. Overall, this duo made for an engaging and enjoyable listening experience. Highly recommend giving it a listen!

🚌 🌎𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓔𝔁-𝓬𝓪𝓿𝓮𝓷𝓰𝓮𝓻 𝓗𝓾𝓷𝓽 was a super cute and fun rom-com. I really enjoyed the premises for it, Lily reads an article and starts to wonder what did she do wrong to be single yet again. Her sister is about to marry and she is determined not to be paired with the snaky brother of the groom, but to do so she needs to find a date, and to find a date she needs to understand why all her previous relationships ended. Enter Ethan, a security service owner, he overhears Lily speaking and having to escape his family, coming to town for his brother’s wedding he decides to use Lily as an excuse to skip town for the weekend. Not long after they meet they realize their respective siblings are marrying each other and Ethan it´s the creep Lily´s sister warned her about. Problem, Ethan is not a creep, he is not ugly, and he may as well be the perfect help for Lily. Embarking on a journey full of exes, fun, self-discovery, and adventure. Lily and Ethan will discover each other and overcome all their problems together. I loved the plot even though the writing felt really basic and cold sometimes. The audiobook was definitely better both the voice actors did an amazing job voicing our dear characters. Also from around 45% the spice pics up and oh boy… it was warm.
This was sooo cute and the premise of a road trip romance so Lily can revisit her exes to see what went wrong was fun and ideal for a summer listen. It was also super hot and spicy and such an impressive debut, I’m a fan! Jason Clarke is one of my top male narrators and Stephanie Nemeth Parker was an excellent Lily
I listened to an ALC of The Ex-Cavenger Hunt and what a fun book! With the premise of avoiding their families, both Lily and Ethan end up on a road trip together, traveling down the exes lane. I enjoyed the interactions between both and even though I knew they'd fall in love, it was fun to follow the story and see how the romance unfolds.
I can't even begin to imagine checking back in with exes 😆 but I liked seeing how Lily found closure with each of those failed relationships. This story has some spicy scenes, so be sure that your earphones are connected when playing it 😂 I loved the narration very much and felt that they portrayed Lily and Ethan so well.
Fans of Meghan Quinn, Elsie Silver and Ana Huang will enjoy this book. 💙

This was such a fun and cute read and I really enjoyed listening to the audiobook. The plot is quite unique and I really love the way our two MCs met each other and the growth and development they both had was so perfectly done. I adored the way their relationship developed over time and how they supported each other in every way possible.
I also enjoyed the adventures the two MCs went on together, giving Lily the closure she needed from all her past relationships. The only complain I have is that I wanted more Ethan and Lily moments but the epilogue made up for it. I loved the way the book ended giving us a glimpse into what the future holds for them both.
"Being with you," he continues, "is like discovering a new color. One I never knew existed but now can't imagine living without."
Oh my heart! Where do I even begin? For someone who seldom listens to audiobooks, 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐄𝐗-𝐂𝐀𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐑 𝐇𝐔𝐍𝐓 turns out to be a surprisingly enticing read. I’m hooked from the very first chapter and I can’t believe Lily and Ethan’s story ends so soon, leaving me craving more in the 𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐬 series by Kendall Hale.
The protagonists, Lily and Ethan, embark on an exciting road trip (my favorite!) down Lily’s memory lane to hunt for her string of exes, in search of “THE ONE” in case she somehow missed that in her past relationships. After experiencing all kinds of emotions, long lost feelings, and unexpected plot twists, Lily realizes that the person she so desperately seeks may be right alongside her this whole time.
I love how easily it is to fall for Lily and Ethan as their chemistry, the sparks between them, and funny banters come naturally. The narrators of this book, Jason Clarke and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker, perfectly portray the characters, making me feel as if they’re right beside me throughout the journey.
Lastly, I couldn't believe this book was the author's debut novel! By how beautifully-written and well-thought-out the story was, I honestly thought she had published way more books before and totally planned to binge read all of them. In this case, I'm beyond excited to have discovered Kendall Hale, and the sequel, Knot Really Engaged, will be released on July 25th, 2024!!
***Massive thanks to Hambright PR and the author for generously providing me with an audio copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.***
Lily embarks on a roadtrip to visit her exes to try to figure out where things went wrong and if any of them could be a shot at a second chance at forever. Enter her sisters finances brother(that’s a mouthful) Ethan who wants to get away from his annoying and meddling family so he volunteers to travel with her for her safety.
The book was cute as hell. No real conflict. No third act breakup. All vibes tbh and I enjoyed the heck out of it. Sometimes you just need something good and easy.
Loved how well the MCs connected and got along. The progression of strangers(they’d never met, she’d just heard stories about him) to attraction to lovers was so nice. I loved that there was no miscommunication or overreaction when it could have ended in a breakup. I love when adults act like adults and are understanding of situations that come up. Even when they could have been handled better 😆
The audiobook was done fantastically! Kudos to Jason Clark and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker. Such great voices that really made the characters feel so real.
Huge thanks to Hambright PR and Kendall Hale for the ALC. 🩵
Hale's debut novel is a delightful journey with lots of witty banter, fun and flirty exchanges and plenty of laughs. Lily and Ethans story hooked me right from the start!
I loved how the author gave us both of their thoughts and worries. It really helped getting to know the characters and made inner monologue in roadtrips seem more real because I’d imagine it be similar for myself in that same kind of setting.
Ethan, instantly has an attraction to Lily and decides that she is the ticket he needs to escape dealing with his family. But keeping the attraction at bay through out their trip proves to be hard with temptation and forced proximity with no where to go!
The tension and banter between them was amazing. Great story about finding yourself and love along the way. Super cute and fun read!!
The Ex-Cavenger Hunt takes us on a wild ride as Lily, with a little help from Ethan, embarks on a mission to revisit her past relationships and dig up some much-needed answers.
I was hooked by the quirky premise and the lively setting. The plot cruises along smoothly, with Lily seeking closure from her exes and Ethan dodging his parents. Along the way, they stumble upon each other—and a bit of self-discovery too. Their adventures are fun, and it's downright heartwarming to watch them truly see each other, sparking a relationship.
Ethan stole the show for me. His relentless support and willingness to give love a shot, despite his commitment-phobia, was both charming and endearing. His chemistry with Lily is very sweet and I couldn't help but root for them.
In a nutshell, this book is a delightful, quick read that's perfect if you're in the mood for something light-hearted and fun.
This was such a fun and spicy read/listen. I was gifted this ALC from Hambright PR and all thoughts are my own 🫶
The pacing of this story was great IMO and made it easy to stay invested. Lily and Ethan had such fantastic chemistry and the narrators really brought that to life. Lily is trying to figure out if one of her ex’s was really the one for her and is trying to find a wedding date so she doesn’t have to go either Ethan, but life has other plans! The road trip was so fun and I’m so thankful there wasn’t a third act breakup for once 😅 Super fun and entertaining audio!
I liked this but I feel like they got together soooooo fast. Also the sex scenes for me were kinda cringey idk how many times I had to hear “slick folds” I wanted to die truly
What happens when you set on an adventure to discover if you let go of the “one” with a hot “bodyguard”? An adventure of a lifetime that could lead to forever!
Lily is at a crossroads in life and though she is ok with being alone she years for a partner to share life with. When she sets out on an adventure to find out if she let the one go she finds so much more than she anticipated. She sets out with Ethan, the man who is brothers to her sisters soon to be husband. They are opposites in every way, yet each day brings them closer and a spark ignites that could ruin it all, but isn’t love worth an have?
I loved how strong and sure Lily became as she faced the shadows of her past. She became resilient and grew so much as a character. Ethan is a gruffly grump yet has the sweetest side when you looked beyond his tough exterior.
This steamy read is full of so much love and leaves you with a smile!

The story was so funny and cute. Lily is on a road trip to check with all of her ex's why their relationship didn't work. Trying to discover if she missed out on her one true love and find a date for her sisters wedding. Playboy Ethan just so happens to help escort on this adventure. Their banter is fantastic and kept you interested the whole time.
Thank you to @hambright_pr and @authorkendallhale for this audiobook
If you’re in the mood for a swoony and hilarious but heartfelt story, you’ve come to the right place! Ethan and Lily are against impossible odds and need to get out of town a bit.
Ethan, whose always been the black sheep of a very dysfunctional family, needs an excuse to not be home when his parents arrive in town for a month long stay for his older brother's wedding. While concocting his escape plans, he encounters Lily. Through deduction he comes to the conclusion that SHE is the bridesmaid that he would walk down the aisle with at his older brother's wedding in the coming months. So there Lily sits in a cafe telling a friend that she needed to explore her past relationships to help her with her future ones, a seed that her older sister planted in her head. So, she has decided that a road trip, (until her evil sister's wedding) will be the perfect way to avoid all of the family drama.
What makes this situation extra weird, perfect and awkward all at once, is that the sole purpose of this trip is to help her find a date to the wedding.... so, she doesn't have to hang out with Ethan. The Groom has spread lies about him and she's trying desperately to avoid him. But fate interacts and brings them together in the name of escaping both of their crazy families. And in the end they end up with a very sweet HEA.
""So, if I don't find a date, you won't grab my ass", I wink at her. "Unless you ask really nicely, sweetheart" "
There is so much crazy family drama. So, if that's a trigger for you, watch yourself. But if you're like me and you love it, then come on down. Ethan and Lily's story is tender and heartfelt. The spice was on point but not in the forefront of the plot, which I liked. Some of her ex's were complete jerks but were necessary plot devices for personal growth which was the main driving force of the story.
Full disclosure I'm reading out of technical order, but I don't find that it makes a huge deal. And another positive is there doesn't seem to be a huge overlap or over explanation of the other friends' stories, and therefore no real huge spoilers. I will say though, I love Ethan and Lily's story best out of the 3 I've had the pleasure to read- but all are wonderful.

This was a sweet, if at times flowery, listen, perfect for fans of insta-love and forced proximity. Lily Harper is a struggling artist, whose oldest sister insists on her finding a suitable date to bring to her wedding so she doesn't have to be paired up with her womanizing future brother in law to walk down the aisle. After reading an article that says you are likely to have already dated your soul mate and let them get away, Lily decides to embark on a road trip to meet back up with all her exes, to determine if any of them were really "the one." Discussing this plan over lunch in a cafe with her middle sister, security expert and former SEAL Ethan Montgomery overhears her and is immediately captivated. As luck would have it, he puts the context clues together and realizes that Lily is the sister of his brother's fiancée. He offers to escort her on her journey so they both can avoid their families during the impending wedding festivities, and over the course of the trip Lily realizes that maybe the person she was meant to be with isn't in her past, but in her present. I listened to this at 2x speed and even without that it was a quick listen, spicy at times, but the repetitive and overly descriptive language sometimes failed to hold my attention.
💜 Thank you to Kendall Hale and Hambright PR for an ALC of The Ex-Cavenger Hunt to review.
please note that the trigger warnings and topes/themes may contain spoilers I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. HEA: yes POV: dual 1st person POV spice: a few open-door spicy scenes TWs: emotional manipulation, toxic family dynamics standalone: book 1 of the Happily Ever Mishaps series final thoughts: this was a quick and fun read with lots of flirty banter between the MCs Lily and Ethan. As the black sheep of their families, they embark on a road trip adventure to visit Lily’s ex-boyfriends to see if her future is really in her past. I wish we had more of their interactions while on the road stuck in close quarters since there would’ve been so many great romcom situations in those moments, but we did get plenty during their hotel stays and in between meeting the exs. I loved that there was plenty of angst, drama, and miscommunication, but with no third act breakup! However, the ending felt super rushed for me. I didn’t dislike it, but it felt like a different set of characters in the end with a quick resolution.

The Ex-Cavenger Hunt is such fun, lighthearted and easy rom-com. The premise is unique and I wish this was a movie. But luckily I did the next best thing: listened this this on audio and the narration is PERFECTION!
Jason Clarke and Stephanie Nemeth Parker are so perfect as Ethan and Lily. They really bring this story to life. Their dynamic creates the tension and heart that underlines this story. This is a dual narration and I loved the way they each played their roles.
This story intertwines humor, lust and emotion. There's a bit of an opposites attract vibe going on that creates some wonderful scenarios and great banter. I very much enjoyed the second half of this slow burn as Lily and Ethan go from 0 to 100 with their romance and I was cheering them on each step. They are SPICY AF!
This was such a nice reprieve from the angsty and darker romances I've been reading lately and such a quick listen. I highly recommend this audiobook - perfect for a summer road trip

This was such a cute, light romcom. I loved Lily and Ethan’s flirty banter back and forth but also Ethan’s need to make Lily always happy. With Lily’s sister’s wedding coming up, she is worried about being paired up with the grooms brother whom they’ve all told her is…not a great guy. Worried that she may have already met her soul mate, she’s lamenting with her other sister while out to lunch together about tracking down her exes and seeing where they went wrong and if they could rekindle their connection. As he is trying to figure out how to get out of town in order to avoid them while his family is in, black sheep of his family, Ethan over hears Lily and her sister making this plan of tracking down her exes. Since Ethan owns a security company, he offers his services to help track them down. They find out that they are the siblings that would end up paired together if Lily doesn’t find a date to the wedding. She takes him up on his offer and they’re off on an adventure.
Listen, Jason could read the phone book and it’d give me the squeeze knees. And Stephanie did such a great job. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve had her lovely voice grace my ears and I won’t be waiting so long again anymore.
The Ex-Cavenger Hunt is a super fun, sweet and cute road trip romance. I had so much fun listening to this one. I thought the concept was original and well done. It was a super quick and fast read which is perfect for the summertime. The only thing for me that was harder is the insta love trope, I just thought the I love you’s came a little fast for me.
I really enjoyed the characters, what they did in every city they visited and all their interactions. The most refreshing part is there is no miscommunication or third act breakup, they actually talk like real adults 👏. I loved their chemistry and the spice was spicing.
This was a really entertaining read, I had a lot of fun with it and didn't want to put it down. I just loved the whole road trip concept and the storyline.
🎧 The narration by Jason Clarke & Stephanie Nemeth-Parker was amazing. It was such a delight to listen to. They had the perfect voices and tones to just make it for a fun and light listen. The narrators truly brought the spice and the chemistry to life and it was amazing. Great audiobook!
✨️Thank you to @hambrightpr & @kendallhale for my gifted audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
This was a quick read. It was a cute read, and I was entertained by some of the pandemonium that occurred. The sparks just didn’t seem to fly for me. The romance was super quick but cute. I wasn’t super invested in the romance, but enjoyed it as a casual observer.
Lily is happily single. At least she thinks she is until her sister cuts her with yet another barb about not having a plus one for her wedding. In fact, she threatening to have her walk down the aisle with Ethan, her fiancé’s brother who grabbed some lady’s 🍑 at a previous wedding. So when she reads an article about how some people don’t recognize “The One” when they are with them. So she comes up with the crazy idea to revisit all her exes for closure and to make sure she didn’t miss being with her soulmate.
Thanks to Literally Yours PR for the copy, all thoughts are my own.
Lily was content with her life even if she doesn’t have the romance that other people judge her for. With her sister’s upcoming wedding she needs to find a date otherwise she will be matched with the best man whose reputation precedes him. To avoid that she comes up with an adventure to reunite with her previous love interests and confirm if ending the relationships were meant to be or a mistake.
Ethan happens to be the best man as well as the groom’s brother. If he had his choice, he would avoid all things wedding and all things family so when he learns about Lily’s adventure, he decides to invite himself along and they might just learn a lot about themselves and each other.
Ethan and Lily were so cute together from the witty banter to the fun times to the feelings between them that were unexpected but undeniable. They both have challenges when it comes to their family which allows them to get to know who they truly are and put aside preconceived ideas.
Kendall Hale’s “Ex-Cavenger Hunt” is a cleverly done “forced proximity” trope. What better way to fall in love than to go on a road trip? But Lily, the FMC, hilariously believes she will reunite with her exes and ask what went wrong in their relationships. Much of this was brought up because she could not find a date for her sister’s wedding. One groomsman, Maverick, agrees to help Lily and goes on the road trip with her.
I listened to the audio and read the book “Ex-Cavenger Hunt.” I loved the narration of Jason Clarke and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker. They were perfectly matched for the characters. Lily is a bit quirky and cheerful, and Maverick is the gruff, broody guy. Both Jason and Stephanie had that down so well.
The story is slow-burn, and the steam picks up much later. Combined with Jason Clarke’s narration, those scenes bumped the story up.
Thank you, Hambright PR and Kendall Hale, for the gifted “Ex-Cavenger Hunt” audio review copy.” I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book was so cute. We follow the story of Lily who is single and seems happy. Then the bridezilla forces her to partner with the soon-to-be brother-in-law's "perverted" brother, the bridezilla's words. Or she can find someone she genuinely connects with to invite to the wedding. So bridezilla sends an article to Lily about past loves and if breaking up was a mistake or a life lesson. So Lily decides to go on a soul search with her past relationships to see where it went wrong and if it was for good reasons. Well, luck would so happen she meets said perverted brother and starts to see he is not as his family describes. They travel together as she soul-searches through her past relationships to find her future. This book is cute and funny, I would watch it if it were a movie. I enjoyed this read and think it was a great debut.
Lily is sick of not finding the love she wants, so she goes back to the beginning.
She wants to go on a road trip to see all of her exes and get the closure she never got. In hopes of finding a way to find love. Ethan decides to tag along in attempt to avoid his parents and that starts the journey of the two of them finding their happily ever after.
While meeting up with each of these idiots, Lily starts to realize that they are indeed the problem and not her.
Lily and Ethan's chemistry is instant and I loved that for them. It made for some interesting road trip adventures!
The spice in this was a lot heavier than I was expecting - do not let the cover fool you! I was more than happy for that surprise.
Jason Clark and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker did a great job narrating these characters! I really loved how both of them brought these characters to life.
Lily would do anything to avoid being dateless to her sister’s wedding, especially because she will be paired off with her sister’s fiancé’s brother - who is not rumored to be great. She decides there’s no way she hasn’t already met her soulmate, and creates a plan to go visit all of her exes to find out what went wrong or see if there’s still hope. Her intended date for the wedding, Ethan, decides to tag along, and they get to know each other more than expected.
This was a cute, quick audio! The male narrator kinda sounds like Penn Badgley to me, which I was not mad about 😏 I enjoyed both narrators! The plot was a fun idea and relatable, as someone who continues to date duds and wonders what the problem is (can’t be me 😌). I often struggle with audios, but this was a great, light listen to have on when I was doing chores or working. There’s definitely some spice, so buckle up for their ride!
