Allison fell in love with Ethan Iversen, the soon-to-be Alpha of the Moonlight Crown pack. She always wanted him to notice her. This story honestly had a lot of potential, and I feel like Alis Tae could have done so much more with it. I liked the concept of the story, but it really needed heavier editing. Some phrases were repeated quite a lot, which started to feel distracting after a while.

I also felt like Allison (the FMC) needed more character growth. At times she came across a bit whiny and it felt like she was crying almost every chapter. When it finally became her turn to chase Ryan, I expected more from that moment, but it felt like she gave up very quickly—basically within a chapter—which was disappointing.

Ryan, though, was a character I liked from the beginning. He was a sweetheart in many ways, even though there were moments where I both loved and hated him. In the last few chapters he was shown smoking a lot, which felt a bit overdone.

I also wish there had been more spice between the FMC and MMC. For a werewolf romance where the MMC is supposed to be this powerful wolf—almost like an alpha king—I was honestly confused by the flavored condoms. It just felt strange. You’d think a character like that would want to claim his mate in every way, so that detail kind of pulled me out of the story.

At times the whole thing felt a bit like watching an Asian drama soap—very emotional and dramatic. I did enjoy parts of it, especially Ryan as a character, but I also kind of knew where the story was going.

Overall, the idea behind the story is good, but it could have been executed much better. With stronger editing, less repetition, more spice, and better development for Allison, this could have been a much stronger book.

I pretty much left my review of the series on book one. Things are more fleshed out here. I admit, I was getting a bit of whiplash with all the back and forth between our triangle; Ethan, Allison, and Ryan. If I were Allison, I would also have been offended at Ethan’s rejection and his turnaround when Ryan showed interest in her. But stay tuned, because the fun is just beginning.
