Although this story is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. However, it would be beneficial for the entire series to be read in order, due to character stories intertwining. This is a slow burn, dark romance with explicit scenes and some graphic depictions that some may struggle reading.

This is a fantastic start to a thrilling new series! There was so much action and suspense I just couldn't get enough. I loved all the characters and the world that was created. It's dark, dangerous, and completely unhinged. The two MCs are both morally-grey, ruthless, and true enemies to lovers. With dual POV, this makes the attention to detail even better.

Meeting as children under the same awful conditions forced to be slaves and work for the Russians. They had an instant connection. Adanna was rescued by Alexander Sinclair while Nikolai was left to endure and survive. Seventeen years later they meet again and the connection and sparks fly and so does their rage toward one another.

Adanna is an assassin. She is part of a very dangerous family. She and her siblings a referred to as the Deadly Sins. She is amazing. She's fierce and ruthless, but cares for her siblings and justice.

Nikolai is high-ranking in a Russian weapons-dealing organization. He is tasked to gather all the information he can about the Sinclairs and end them when the time comes, including Adanna. He has been stalking her for the last 7 years. Now he is a man even more obsessed than before. He is the anti-hero we all love.

This was written so well, I had the best time in this twisted world. Two fantastic authors who make an amazing team. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

As children Nikolai and Adanna faced the same hellish conditions no child should ever live through. Their outcome wasn't the same since Adanna was saved and Nikolai moved up in ranks. Years later Nikolai hatred for Adanna grew and Adanna's need for revenge was getting closer to reality. With hatred deep within him, when Nikolai was face to face with Adanna he couldn't help but want her. The things he did and how he placed himself in her life all so he could be close her because to him, she was his. Of course there's so much more to this story but you have to read it. Both characters are unhinged and lethal. This will be series and I'm excited for the next story!

With the terrible trauma they both suffered as children, growing up to be killers with twisted desires is no suprise. I was a big fan of his over the top protectiveness even in the face of death by her father. The side characters were well done without overtaking the plot.
I did feel like there was a lot to wrap up at the end few chapters when the story was evenly paced at the beginning and I felt like the characters needed a little more story to feel like it was "finished". I'm looking forward to seeing how the plot moves in further books with the characters that were introduced in this book.

SO GOOD!!!

Niko & Ada are everythinggggggg! The way they were the best literal enemies to lovers and the past that tied them together was so dark and deep. Watching them redeem themselves and those who lost loved ones and lives. Were they the bad guys or the vigilantes.. I think the reader decides the outcome and here in their world… there are no wrong answers. I can’t wait for more of this series!
To find 2 authors who write so perfectly and fluid together is an absolute blessing.

These two go from enemies to lovers with more darkness, possible triggers, explicitness and danger than you can poke a proverbial stick at. Adanna and Nikolai are both unhinged, lethal and full of revenge and hatred. Read if you like a dark dark romance story with all the triggers...

Pride is the first book in the Deadly Sins series and it is 🔥 The tension between Adanna and Nikolai was beautifully and bloodily built. One of my favorite aspects of the book was Adanna’s ability to be such a bada$$. Hand to hand combat, shooting guns, adaptability to any given situation. Nikolai was forged via pain and abuse. Growing up in the Russian mafia made him lethal and a total Bosse Daddy 🥵
