Not only that, but Vic's friend is being followed, and now Ingrid is, too. I think this is the best one yet! I can smell the jungle! I tried putting it down halfway through, but it called me back. Like a limpet, I couldn't let it go until I finished it.
What a fabulous and marvellous read.

A Tense, Edgy and Compelling Psychological Thriller
Sarah England made her name by writing some of the most terrifying supernatural thrillers that I have ever read. Certainly unsuppassed in that genre but like all the best authors, there comes a time to diversify and try something a little different. Hence this new novel... A full blown psychological thriller. Newly weds , Vic and Louise Landry are on the holiday of a lifetime in Thailand. Louise can't believe her luck marrying the wealthy and handsome Vic. As the holiday progresses though, some doubts start to enter her mind. Their days out become more extreme into ever more remote jungle areas and just who is the mysterious Katty? Her name keeps cropping up but Vic's accounts become ever more vague and contradictory. On the last day of the holiday, Vic is insistant on taking Louise to yet another remote beauty spot....with disastrous results! Back in England, investigative journalist Ingrid Houseman is tasked with looking in to the case of a couple who disappeared whilst on holiday in Thailand. She vaguely recognizes Louise as coming from the same Yorkshire town as herself. Intrigued she starts to dig deeper but finds that no one wants to talk. Particularly off limits is Vic' s mysterious and powerful family. On a trip to London to try and find out more Ingrid realises that her own life could be in danger as events become more disturbing and sinister by the day. This is a truly thrilling novel which I read over 2 days as I simply couldn't put it down. Addictive Reading!!!
The Gilded Cage is a psychological thriller written by this author. Now I was a bit apprehensive as this is not the author's usual style of writing and genre very different indeed. I needn't have worried as I got drawn into a tirade of twists and turns that just immersed me into the story, one chapter after another I was captivated as the story unravelled .....woohoo you'll love it!!
We follow the story of a young woman called Louise who's hasn't got a lot in her life. Then she meets a man called Vic, he changes her life in a very short time. They are newly married and are on holiday in Thailand, and they end up getting robbed in the steamy jungle and are presumed missing. But this book isn't what you think you're going to get. It's still got some spooky but darker aspects to the book with what we usually expect from the author.
Yet again, the author has shocked me by jumping genres and writing style and told a story that held my attention from the very first sentence to the very last. OMG 😲😲 I bloody loved it, surprised and very addictive as this author's books usually are...... I've read them all ❤❤

Loved this. So glad I was on a Nightshift and I had to stay awake to finish it. Absolute masterpiece by Sarah as always. The weave of prose takes you to heart of the jungle while seeing the heather on the moors. The characters were believable and I despised Vic from the get go. Was a big reminder of why I don't travel abroad at all with all the wildlife I really don't want to get close to or get closely acquainted with but the scenery was painted vividly in my mind to almost feel the oppressive heat and smell the spices cooking.

I absolutely loved this book and could not put it down. All Sarah's books are a great read and this one is no different.

Brilliant.
I have read all of sarah england's books and I think this is my favourite. It's certainly a page turner once you start the book you want to finish it.
