NOWHERE TO GO BUT HOME

Six months pregnant, abandoned and without a penny to her name, Lily Hansen has only one place to go. The ranching community—and her traditional father—won’t take kindly to her situation. But when a handsome forest ranger saves Lily from a flash flood, all she sees is concern in his warm brown eyes.

She soon discovers that Nate Coates's own harrowing family history is behind his need to take care of her. Though she dreams of marriage, she’ll have to open her heart to love before she can become Nate’s wife.

The lead female was pregnant while in an abusive relation and escaped back home. While trying to get there she got caught in a flash flood and was rescued by a forest ranger. She had some issues which she took out on the ranger. He liked her and wanted to get to know her, but she wasn't having it early on.

This was a sweet little read.

Lily has made a lot of mistakes in life....and without a dollar to her name finds no choice but to come back home to her family's ranch only to run into a mudslide. Nate doesn't know the woman he saved. All he knows is that he's attracted to her...and that she hates him. But with a little patience and a lot of faith, Nate tries to prove that he really loves her...baby and all.

This is a nice little read that you won't be able to put down. I recommend this for ages 13 and above for some mature content regarding affairs, pre-marriageable sex, and abuse.

I did not like this book at all. I thought it was slow and as the story progressed, Lily just got pathetic. I thought Nate was okay for being a cowboy (not into cowboys but love Indians) and I admired his tenacity but even he wore on me a little bit.

It took me days to read this book when it should have taken me just hours. It's a Harlequin romance for Heaven's sake but it was sooo slooooow. No kidding, Lily got a marriage proposal out of this guy before they'd even kissed and then their first kiss was when he kissed her on the forehead. WHAT? This is a romance for nuns!

I don't need a romance to be all racy and full of sex and all of that because too much of that isn't to my liking, either. I don't need to "see" it but it would sure be nice if I could "feel" like there's some sort of chemistry between the characters.

For awhile, the book read more like a horse training manual, too. I thought that would never end. I don't know how many times I rolled my eyes or fell asleep while I was struggling with those parts. Then there were Nate's ramblings about his job which really were kind of coolbecause I like forest rangers and I didn't mind finding out that they do a lot more than bust campers for camping in the wrong places.

But overall, I'd say this book was a horse training manual with a splash of romance for nuns.

Oh and I'd never read an inspirational romance, either. I don't mind talk about God and Jesus even though I'm not a Christian but when I started to read the Author's Note after the story had ended, I thought I was watching some TV evangelist.

My dear aunt sent me four of these books. I don't know if she's trying to convert me or what (I believe in God) but I doubt I'll read the other three.

Some of this book was pretty predictable, but it was still enjoyable to read. I felt like the ending kind of cut off and turned into just a quick summary though.
