The Bad Guys Haunted Heist

The gang works together for the ultimate heist of a haunted house but Wolfe loves to play games. He swears to be good…we have heard that before. I love this series. Bad guys who are all best friends and will do anything for each other!!

This was a cute read. I sort of know the Bad Guys story from the movie, so while reading, I was able to put some emphasis to the characters voices for my son as we read.

Halfway through, my son was telling me things that were about to happen, and I had to ask if there was a show of this. To which my son informed me that yes, there is. Either way, he enjoyed having it read to him.

The characters are fun. The plot was spooky. I'm not big on the "take my soul" add-in, especially in a kids book, but I could see past those specific words to the concept of the friend willing to offer himself in order to save his friends.

I can't do half ratings on here, but this is a 3.5 for me personally. If my son knew what ratings were and what they meant, I'd ask him for his, but he's not quite there yet. (Working on it.😉).

Eh...
It's a pretty good book in general, and is a pretty fun read for kids. But as a person who loved the original bad guys comics, this book sorta misses the entire unhinged epicness that the comic beheld.
Then again, this book is based on the bad guy movie, which (except for the characters) is a completely different tale. The point is, it's a good book, and a decent short-story-followup-thingy for the dreamworks movie, but isn't really a badguys book.

Also, totally unrelated but WHAT HAPPENED TO MR PIRANHA AND SNAKE? WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM?! They are completely different people, both in looks and personality. ;-;

A narrative prose version of Aaron Blabey’s Bad Guys meant for upper elementary readers. It’s chock full of Halloween disguises and pranks sure to make every reader chuckle 🤭

Not bad I must admit fitting two heists into this book was a decent thing so yeah.
