About the author

Lesley dreamed of being a writer, but studied law as her mother insisted she had "something to fall back on". Since joining Usborne Publishing, she has written and edited hundreds of books, from funny rhyming stories to an award-winning history book. Nowadays, she is often found recording books, too, in Usborne's very own recording studio.

I’ve always liked Alice. And given the fact that it’s a children’s book with only 60 pages give or take, I can’t say much. It was a nice read, it captures the essence of the full story and the pictures are just adorable. For some who had been having a headache over another book, Alice in Wonderland is a good book to go back to when I need to recharge.

The story was great but the smaller version was just not so smooth. If you are up for a readathon, it is great, but for casual reads its okish.....

My little girl’s moving in to chapter books and this one is really kind of perfect for a 3 year old who’s ready for that. Short chapters. Simple writing, but still challenging enough to make it interesting. We’ve read it countless times now and it will be really interesting when she reads the full one one day to see if she remembers it!
