From USA Today Best-Selling Author Kelly Fox comes two tales of love outside the gender norm.
Jules: I’m a trans woman, and I’ve been searching for the love of my life for as long as I can remember. When I met Ginger, I knew I’d found the one. Aside from being gorgeous inside and out, she’s dedicated her life to giving back to the community. Our first kiss, however, ended in tears. With her traumatic history rearing its ugly head, we had no hope of continuing the relationship we both wanted so desperately. A year and a half and one ill-advised marriage (plus one embarrassing divorce) later, I ran into her and realized that my feelings had not changed. I would beg on my knees for her to give us another chance. Can she ever love me as I am?
Leo: I’ve tried and failed to hide the truth from my friends: my heart is a mess. For the last four years, I’ve tried to get over Lovett, the nonbinary love of my life, but I can’t. They’d wanted to be veterinarian since they were a little kid. When they left for vet school, I didn’t know how to be separated from them, and our fragile relationship fell apart. Now, they’re back in town, and if there’s any hope I can convince them to give me another chance, I hafta take it. Wish me luck. I think I’m gonna need it.
The Outsiders follows first Ginger and Jules, then Leo and Lovett, our side character favorites from the Lost Boys series. Their novellas feature a middle finger to gender norms, more spice than you’d think, and a pair of happily ever afters so swoony you’ll be sad to say goodbye.
I legitimately cried for both couples in this book!! Ginger and Jules had me in my feels throughout their story, the way they took care of each other and saw each other had me so emotional. These women so deserved their hard won HEA and damn when they got it…it was hot asf 🥵 Kelly Fox definitely knows how to write and detailed and satisfying sex scene ✍🏾
Leo and Love resonated with me more than Ginger and Jules (and that’s saying something bc I loved them). Leo and Ginger both went through the worst imaginable things and still both loved fiercely, truly and wholly but Leo’s story just broke me. He really deserved everything good and I’m so happy he got it with Love. I really felt for Love and their need to be seen for who they are but I so wanted to choke them for being mean to Leo. I understood where Love was coming from in their hesitation but glad it only lasted a short while. Again the sex scenes between Leo and Love were just as detailed and graphically good 🥵.
Even though Ginger & Jules’ and Leo & Love’s stories were shorter than the main series it didn’t take away the impact of their relationships. Both couples had important stories that had to be told and Kelly Fox did it with such care, sensitivity and obvious admiration for all of the characters and it shows. I loved this entire series and this was a great note to end it on 💕
I don't often read books featuring female MC's, for my own personal reasons, but this is Kelly Fox and I knew I could push aside my issues because her books are more than worth it. And I was right. It was absolutely wonderful to see Ginger and Jules get their HEA. There were a lot of time-jumps, and while it was a bit jarring at times, I did see that they were needed for them to be together in the end. Both Ginger's and Jules' issues were handled with the same care and grace with which Kelly handles everything she writes about. Not to mention, the steamy bits took me completely by surprise. In a very good way. Also, as a sidenote, it was fun to see some of the Wrecked crew again! (I do miss Roly fiercely some days.)
Novella 2: Leo & Lovett (5 stars)
I've been looking forward to Leo's story ever since I met him in The Skeptic. He had my heart immediately, honestly. And his story did not disappoint even a little bit. It was everything to see him and his Love get their HEA because they deserved it so much. Leo is such a sweetheart of a guy and Lovett is absolutely perfect for him. It was also fun catching glimpses of other characters from our favorite ranch series! Though, as perfect as this was, it also made me sad. Because Leo's story is also the official end of the Lost Boys series. While I love that everyone got their HEA and I know that these characters will undoubtedly make another appearance somewhere down the line in one way or another, it also made me sad. Because endings are sad.
I'll miss these characters a whole lot, but I have no doubt that I'll revisit them again and again.
I received an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in exchange for an honest review.
Jules As a trans woman Jules has faced a lot of adversity and judgment in her life, but surrounded by family who accepts her for who she is Jules embraces her true self…. And that is a beautiful, graceful woman with a heart of gold. Ginger is the love of Jules’ life but after a moment where it highlighted that Gingers trauma wouldn’t allow her to be comfortable with Jules just the way she is, she tries to move on quickly and that leads to a very ill timed relationship with a woman who tries tear down everything Jules has worked so hard to build. Years later Jules sees Ginger again and the love she has for her has not lessened with time. Jules looks at Ginger with such heartbreak as she is the one person who sees her, loves her but the trauma Ginger endured is severe and intense, Jules refuses to contribute to Gingers pain. What choice does she have but watch her soulmate from afar.
Ginger It’s been years and Jules is still everything that Ginger wants but can’t have. Ginger has spend years putting the work into therapy to overcome everything she gone through. All she wants is her love, a woman that makes her heart race and that Jules. They reconnect and navigating their relationship together isn’t going to be easy but Ginger knows hard work and Jules is worth it. She would go through it all again if it led her to Jules.
I was so excited to reach Jules and Ginger story. This is a relationship that has been long awaited and so worth it. This story is written with such grace and respect, to see Jules and Ginger have their happily ever after and build the family neither of them thought they were ever going to have, is truly wonderful.
Leo Lovett is the love of his life. His trauma dictated his responses and actions so much back then that he made a huge mistake and ended a relationship with the only person who ever made him feel seen. It’s been years, he’s done the work and matured. all it takes is one comment, Lovett is back. The love of his life is back and all he wants to do is see them… drop to his knees and beg for another chance.
Lovett Leo broke his heart… trying to express how overwhelmed he was, juggling his workload and their relationship - Lovett didn’t want to fail at either one ….. A conversation that he didn’t get to finish, Leo assumed and broke his heart over a phone call. Now he’s trying to rebuild his life with a career of his dreams until Leo comes waltzing back into his life, taking a wrecking ball to the carefully constructed walls he’s built.
I love how their story is approached! Trauma is a part of Leo’s life and this isn’t dismissed, it’s addressed so beautifully yet doesn’t feel like trauma is his entire being. It’s fun to watch Lovett try and resist the bond they have, as a reader we can see where this is going but they are not just thrown together and everything forgotten. To watch them grow together, get to know one another again it’s stunning. Leo has always been a fan favourite and personally one of mine too, we have watched him grown from a traumatised teenager to a selfless, funny and smart young man. to see his have his happy ending feels like such an accomplishment…. **sigh** I cannot believe it’s the end! This series has been incredible, I hope to see them again in the future. ♥️
If I could give this more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! I loved the Lost Boys series, but having the privilege to read the needed love stories for Ginger & Jules, and Leo & Love, feels like a bittersweet reward. I don't want the series to end, but I know all great things eventually must come to an end. I'm glad that Kelly's series have so much crossover though, because even though I'm not as familiar with Wild Heart & Rebel Sky, I'm still given the opportunity to spend time with those characters within the Lost Boys and definitely within Leo & Love's story in The Outcasts.
As difficult as it was to read through the struggles Ginger & Jules faced while rectifying and solidifying their relationship, it was such a sweet reward to reach their HEA. They deserve so much happiness for what they've endured throughout their lives, and I'm so glad they were able to work out their personal obstacles to come together in a happier place. They each hate the time that they've lost being together, but know that that time was necessary for each of them to grow and find the power in themselves before coming together again as a couple.
When we meet Love in the Lost Boys series originally, we're not given as much story or real character introduction, so having the opportunity to get their POV in The Outcasts helps to connect with their character so much better. We know a bit about Leo's story and how he acts and interacts as a character, but seeing and feeling his growth throughout this story was so sweet to read. Leo seemed like a larger than life individual that didn't really know himself when we first meet him, so to be able to experience the changes in him as he realizes the mistakes he made with Love, and make the corrections and his feelings known, is extraordinarily sweet. His maturity is really what sets him apart from when we meet him in the Lost Boys series. When Love finally sees the truth of the mess they both made with their mistakes, we get to see the captivating and endearing reunion between them. They deserve all the happiness, and getting to see them reach that goal is immensely satisfying and tearful.
I'd like to think each of the characters in all the Lost Boys series are out there living their wonderful lives, and watching out for the ever present sign of a red cardinal to share their lives with the one who started it all. ❤️
Oh my gosh, Kelly did it to me again…. I had teary eyes over these two. Having read the lost boys series i have been craving HEA’s for both Leo and Ginger and now we have just that in one book. Split into two parts we get to see the back story to a few moments we saw during the run of the series.
Part one - ginger
Not only did Kelly give us ginger’s hea Jules finally got her’s. Which meant we also got more Roly, Nick Scout and Evie. One thing I love about Kelly is that she doesn't shy away from a complex story and man are Jule and Ginger just that. Both have complex pasts and trauma. I loved how this was handled by Kelly and how Jules and Ginger got past all the odds to be together. Ginner deserves the world and more but Jules will never stop trying to give Ginger everything she deserves and more.
Part two - Leo
Just when I thought my tears and achy heart was over… bam along comes Leo to cut me open again. This boy has honestly had my heart from the beginning of the lost boys. Seeing that cheeky chap slowly become besotted with love left me wanting to know more so when i found out he and Love were getting their story I was so excited. Leo and Love broke my heart, Leo’s trauma making it that he reacted in a negative way pushing Love away. So much heartache as Leo has only ever had feelings for Love. Fast forward a few years and Kelly kissed it all better bringing these two back together. I loved loved loved seeing them rekindle their relationship. I also loved how Kelly showed Lovett’s sexuality and how they and Leo worked through their past and Leo’s trauma. Lovett’s mum kinda stole the show for me though even if she made my eyes water.
I received an early copy in return for my honest review
I started reading Kelly Fox with The Skeptic, the first of the Lost Boys series. I've read all her books so I saw Lovett (Love) pop up in Rebel Sky after I'd "met" Leo in The Skeptic. I saw Jules here and there while getting to know Ginger. These characters feel like old friends.
In The Outcasts, I felt like I was having mini-reunions with old friends as both couples made their way back to each other. While gender diversity is the main theme underlying these love stories what all the books, and especially this one, emphasize is the importance of community and found family. This is especially true in a state where the LGBTQ+ community is a target of attack.
For Jules (a trans woman who has chosen not to have surgery and from a wonderful family) and Ginger (a lesbian with significant sexual trauma who is triggered by male body parts with no family), the HEA is hard won. I appreciate the care taken and that the physical elements were not ignored.
For Leo (cis male who endured sex trafficking in his youth with no family) and Lovett (non-binary AMAB with a loving family), Leo's easy acceptance of Love's NB gender is refreshing. Love doesn't focus on Leo's sexual trauma triggers, just quickly accepts and adapts. Mostly they're just two young people figuring out how to love each other.
And in both cases, they're surrounded by a community of extended found family who love and cherish them and help them get to their HEA.
On a practical note, I appreciate that in every book, the characters discuss condom use/STI testing/PrEP/safety talk/consent.
I'm sad this series is ending but excited to see where they pop up next.
This Duology contains the Happy Ever After story of two of Kelly Fox’s characters that we have followed thru the years on their journey from Captivity to coming into their own in life and love. Ginger has been working her way thru her trauma from trafficking but not everything can be left behind. Although she has always had a strong pull towards Jules, Scout's Trans Sister she was not able to handle being intimate with someone who had bottom surgery, as much as she wished and prayed she could. We get to see mistakes made and learned from as Jules and Ginger find their way back to each other to have the life everyone wants them to have. Though I enjoyed seeing these two characters find their way back to happiness together, the story I really had been waiting for was Leo’s. Leo has “loved” Love since the first moment they met. After waiting for Leo to be of legal age before starting their actual romance, things hit a snag pretty quickly when Love fulfills their dream of going to Vet School. Leo, who still is working thru his own trauma and is still maturing has a breakdown that leads to their separation. Fast forward when Love returns to the area and Leo can’t hold back anymore. It just lit me up inside to see the person who was a part of so many other characters finding their way to each other and who has touched so many lives, both fictional and real with the readers to finally get their own HEA. I can’t wait to see what new Families, both blood and found that the author introduces us to next and get to see how they fit into her wonderfully built world.
#4.5 in series (The Lost Boys), duet of novellas, best if read in order as these characters have appeared in the series previously. Second chance. Hurt/comfort. Dual POV. Heed content warnings. 4.5 rounded up
Jules and Ginger - Transgender representation. Jules and Ginger find themselves at an impasse, they are attracted to each other and possibly love each other but intimacy is an issue they can’t overcome. As time goes by with heartache, they find that their time apart may be the key to unlocking their true passion and love for each other. Both Jules and Ginger have had a lifetime of struggles, and I really enjoyed how they become so committed to being together, loving every part of their special person and actually being everything the other needed. An emotional and steamy story.
Leo and Lovett - Nonbinary representation. Leo and Lovett were young and in love, but after a break up Leo regrets and Lovett doesn’t want to forgive it’s years before they reunite again. However the love is still there, and as they unexpectedly find themselves spending time together they can’t deny their feelings have never waned. I really felt for Leo’s heartbreaking every moment and the fact that Lovett also has those strong feelings makes their reunion so sweet (and steamy). I do wish we could have seen flashbacks of them falling for each other, but am so happy we got to share the piece where they put everything back together again. Cameos galore for fans of Kelly Fox.
I have loved Leo since the first time he made an appearance in these books. He is such a burst of fresh air. He brings hijinks, compassion, the ability to state the obvious, and so much love. I adopted him in my heart from the beginning. He had a rough start, but the Lost Boys, Ginger, and Lovett showed him that he is worth love and respect.
Leo's story made me cry, but I'm so glad he got his happily ever after with the love of his life. Love has been around since the Rebel Sky Ranch series and it has been fun seeing them pop up throughout the following series. I liked seeing them find themself and be accepted by the other characters and their family. I am so happy we got to leave these two so happy and in love.
Ginger and Jules are good together. They had some bumps in their road to HEA, but they figured it out in the end. Jules has had a special spot with me since the very first time she appeared. She did not deserve what she went through with that horrible woman and I'm so happy she got out of there. I'm so happy that Ginger was in a better place in her life, mentally and emotionally, to be able to try again with Jules and give them both someone who loves the other unconditionally.
I'm going to miss all of these characters and hope that they pop up in more series.
Gah, I love this series, and though I have that happy-sad feeling because it’s ending, it’s fitting that we’re saying goodbye and hello to love with Ginger’s and Leo’s stories.
Ginger and Jules
“The second I had a real choice, I chose to do good. I chose a life of service, and now I was choosing love.” My heart hurt for Jules and Ginger when we last saw them, and I wasn’t sure how they’d overcome the distance. I should have known that Kelly with all the sensitivity and compassion would have the best, and maybe spiciest, way for these two to heal and find their way together. They are beautiful individually and as a couple, they’re utterly gorgeous in love.
Leo and Love
“You’re sunshine, even though you came from darkness,” they said, their voice gone warbly. “It’s the rarest and most special kind of magic.” Leo holds a special piece of my heart with his outspoken honesty. He is a treasure and I’m beyond ecstatic that he found his forever home with Love. Watching him grow into the man he is today and become someone who is adored and loved for every single piece of him, well, that’s the best homecoming of them all.
I LOVED this! It fulfilled my high expectations, though I would have been happy to have full-length novels for both of these couples.
I had been hoping to get Jules' story since she first appeared in an earlier series. The badass ex-Marine sniper turned party planner with an Audrey Hepburn look trans woman was just crying out for a book, so I was so excited about this. And Kelly delivered!
The book is in 2 parts, with Jules & Ginger being the main characters for part 1 and the main characters of the 2nd part being the golden retriever survivor Leo and his non-binary sweetheart Lovett. Also stoked they get back together!
In this, you'll find: ✨️Contemporary LGBTQIA+ Romance ✨️Novel in 2 parts ✨️Latina, ex-Marine sniper, party planner trans woman ✨️Mixed race, lesbian, group home carer ✨️Demisexual plumber MMC ✨️Non-binary, large animal veterinarian ✨️Second chance romances ✨️Trafficking survivor MCs ✨️PTSD ✨️Homophobia + transphobia ✨️Transphobic, abusive ex-wife ✨️Kink, including bondage + sounding ✨️Mention of death of a secondary character's spouse ✨️Found family ✨️Texan small town setting ✨️HEAs
Okay let’s start with Ginger and Jules. Honestly I am not usually an FF girly. That being said, Kelly absolutely blew the roof off with Ginger and Jules. I was lot expecting them to be so kinky haha they were beyond hot and sensual together! Their story is so emotional and I appreciated how even though it was a novella it took place over time where we got to see and feel their longing.
Ugh and now to my baby doll Leo. Leo and Love were tear inducing in their sweetness and love for each other. Leo has the best golden retriever energy and Love brought a sweetness and understand that was just perfect. I loved their HEA!
Now kelly you did not need to remind me that Leo’s story marks the end of the series. I could literally cry. The community and found family you’ve built is gorgeous. I refuse to believe this network of loving, funny, sassy, and strong beyond compare humans aren’t really out there somewhere living their best lives. Thank you for this world and these incredible characters! I hope to visit again very soon for the next generation <3
Ginger and Jules’ long-awaited story lived up to all my expectations. These two had a painful journey towards coupledom and, at times, I doubted if they’d ever be able to overcome all the barriers between them. But never doubt Kelly Fox. When she realized she had found the perfect match for Jules, she ensured we got the right book. Written with extreme sensitivity, this one had me all up in my feels right from the get-go.
Leo and Love…..what can I say about Leo and Love?! Non-binary Lovett winds up being the absolute perfect match for Leo with all his golden retriever energy, blunt sense of humor and lack of filter. Leo has also reduced the frequency with which he trauma bombs people, a palatable example of his growth. I loved this second-chance story but found myself closing my book temporarily before the epilogue. It took me a minute to realize it was because I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to the Lost Boys series. And that, more than anything, says everything you need to know about this book and this series. 5 stars.
I don’t think I have read a Kelly Fox book and NOT cried…happy tears and sad tears both…though this time I believe they were 98% happy tears, 2% sad tears just because this long road for Ginger, Jules, Leo, and Love is finally over. I have truly loved seeing the journey all four characters have taken over the course of all these inter-connected series…Jules especially.
Ginger and Jules’s story was beautiful and I loved how both were so strong and capable and always had so much love to give. Jules definitely surprised me in the bedroom but MAN!!! It was certainly 🔥🔥!!
Leo…gosh I just absolutely love this gentle giant and his soft heart! He and Love were truly something special and I adore them to no end! Once Leo finally got a taste of Love, there was no stopping him…lol! My favorite line is when Love calls Leo “magic”…my heart just melted!!
I believe we will see these four again in other series but their main story is over and their HEA was so well deserved! Thank you Kelly, for taking the time to do justice for these amazing characters!
Fox gives us two gifts with these companion novellas to her Lost Boys series. First, the much anticipated happily ever afters for important secondary characters in her greater universe, including one we've known from the very beginning. Second, a glimpse into the future of other familiar and beloved characters. Fox may break the mold of her usual M/M romances with these stories, but the way her readers have been anticipating them is proof that we love her characters as a whole, not simply those who fit into the "main" genre. The sexual orientations and gender identities Jules/Ginger and Leo/Lovett are simultaneously essential to these queer love stories and secondary to the genuine connections experienced between the characters. Fox also packs both stories with plenty of her signature high emotion and high heat, leaving us with a satisfying conclusion to this particular series and already looking forward to what comes next.
Disclaimer: I received a digital review copy of this book from the author.
Wow. Just wow. I don’t usually have tears in my eyes when reading, but these two stories did.
Ginger and Jules: Jules has been in love with Ginger for a long time. With what Ginger went through, and with the kiss they shared, Ginger backed off as it brought back bad memories. Fast forward a few years and Ginger has reached a better place. When seeing Jules again, all the old feelings came back for Jules. They talked. That was the start of their relationship to their happy ever after.
Leo and Lovett: I loved Leo from the very beginning. He and Love were in a relationship but when Lovett went off to Colorado for veterinary school, his classes were so intense that he would not be able to come home for holidays. Leo got so upset that he broke it off. Fast forward 4 years and Love is back in town. When Leo hears that he is back, he goes to see him. This is the start of their relationship as they worked their way to a happy ever
It has a ton of room to grow, in any case, so it’s not a bad thing, but a fun, anticipatory thing.
Jules has been one of my favourite characters since the very beginning, and while I absolutely adore the fact that we finally got her HEA, I won’t lie and say I don’t feel a little let down. I guess I waited so long that it felt a bit abbreviated, and I built it up so much more in my head because she deserved it (to me).
At the very least, after reading Leo and Love’s novella, I feel like her and Ginger got the short end of the stick. Leo and Love got more meat to their story’s bones, if that makes sense.
Anyway, aside from my personal feelings because I wanted Jules’ story so friggin’ bad that I ruined it for myself, the mechanics were ehh, I enjoyed getting these stories to round out the latest series in this giant universe, and I’ll be on the lookout for the next branch to pop off. 4.25/5.
With these last two novellas comes the end of the Lost Boys, but the end of a series is never the end with a Kelly Fox book. I love how her characters make future appearances and seamlessly fit right in. I was glad to see that Ginger/Jules and Leo/Lovett “Love” finally found their HEA. Ginger and Leo had a friendship forged from similar trauma and they still had healing left to do before they could give themselves to the ones they were meant to be with. Jules and Love carried on their lives, but there was always something missing. I thought the trans and non-binary storylines were handled respectfully and with plenty of steam b/t the MC’s, which the author is known for. However, the theme of found family that underlies all her stories is one of the parts I love best. I am sad this series is ending, but look forward to what comes next!
All the feels for Ginger and Jules and Leo and Love
What a beautiful conclusion to the first generation of Lost Boys. These two stories of love, loss, and finding love again left me crying and snotting (gotta be real, it’s Leo’s story).
As always, Kelly Fox’s writing is real, funny, and hits on the raw. The care and attention given to these character’s life experiences and the important, difficult, and on-going work healing from trauma is life-affirming and healing in its own right.
The characters are real, and really funny. Getting to hang out in Leo’s brain for a bit was a joy, and understanding more about where his bluntness comes from is a heartbreaker.
Again, this is a lovely coda to the Lost Boys series, but each of these stories stands on its own and is a tribute to Fox’s gifts as a storyteller.
I have been following all of these books in the intertwined series for a long time and have read every single one. I have laughed and I have cried and my heart feels full and yet achy every damn time. This was the perfect end to this series, Leo and Ginger had a special place in my heart all throughout and to see them both get their HEA was so beautiful I really cried throughout both novellas. Kelly, I love everything you write but this takes the cake. The story is everything but the representation? Unparalleled. We need more rep like this, it was so well done even the spicy scenes were just ugh *chefs kiss* I can't recommend this author enough but I'm so happy with Leo and Ginger's HEAs.
Finally getting to see both Leo and Ginger get their HEA was wonderful! Getting little glimpses into their lives was not enough - so glad Kelly wrote their stories. Jules and Ginger: both have such heavy pasts and trauma and it broke my heart to see their interactions thinking they couldn’t be together. It was a beautiful story Leo and Love: that prologue with Love was heartbreaking. But after 3 years, Love returns and Leo cannot stay away. Knowing how much they miss each other but still having pain from their last conversation was so hard to see. When they finally reunite, it was so sweet and pretty steamy too. So happy they both got their HEA together.
This duology brings to completion two long-suffering couples. All I can say is “about time.” I get it though—there was healing and growing up to do, and it would have been so gross to push it too early, but OH MY WORDS, these stories were beautiful, healing, life-affirming and a little naughty. I will miss these characters with a phantom pain that only book lovers could understand. I had faith in Kelly and she didn’t let me down.
This book is most definitely better read as the conclusion to the series instead of as a stand alone. If you haven’t read any of The Lost Boys *yet,* then you are in for a treat.
I can’t even begin to say what these stories mean to me - the closing of the series is emotional and sad, but finally getting to read Jules and Ginger’s story was so fulfilling. To learn more about Ginger’s journey; to understand how Jules feels about herself, her body and her life was beautiful. Then we have Love and Leo’s story. Freakin Leo. The time needed to really understand who they are and what they need is hard but so worth it, just like these incredible stories were worth the wait. Kelly Fox has put all her amazing talent and all her love into these characters - I’m going to miss them so much but know they’re just a click away.
I love this series a lot and I loved reading both of these novellas. Sad to say goodbye but looking forward to the future generations. :)
Ginger and Jules are such a sweet couple and it was so lovely that they were able to work things out. Very sexy and unique spicy scenes for sure.
Similar story with Love and Leo too, though their relationship was different. Leo is the most golden retriever ever. He never stopped loving Love in their time apart but even though the separation was painful, both of them were able to mature and be better partners to each other.
This was a wonderful book about Ginger and Leo and the loves of their lives. Ginger and Jules were fantastic together and the sex was off the charts. Leo has grown up so much and while it was understandable that he lashed out at Love when he wanted a break in his crazy school schedule and it brought up so many issues from his past. I loved how they got back together and it was fascinating to read about the birthing of the foals and colts and how much things can go wrong not so unlike human births. I loved how people from the other stories were there and I do hope there will be more stories about them and the new generation.
The Outcasts by Kelly Fox is a wonderful addition to the Lost Boys series. I have read and loved this entire series and was eager for these stories. Leo and Love have cared for each other from their first meeting, but timing is everything. To see them get a second chance on the love they have for each other is beautiful. Ginger and Jules love story is full of ups and downs but so beautiful it hurts. Both Jules and Ginger have had a lifetime of struggles, and I really enjoyed how they become so committed to being together. In the end love wins all!
I was only really interested in Lovett's and Leo's story, so my review is based solely on that half of this novella. Obviously I wanted these MCs to have a happy ending and was very pleased that we would get one for them. I really liked the nods to not only the rest of the Lost Boys, but also the greater Texas hill country area, including the Bashes, the Rebel Sky peeps, and I think even some Blue Collar daddies. I love a well done interconnected series and Kelly has done an amazing job. I can't wait for whatever she cooks up for the Lost Boys 2.0
How could you not read all the Lost Boys books and not fall in love with them all but always have that special place waiting for Leo and Ginger to have their own HEA!? So yes this was the BEST way to end this chapter of the Lost Boys BUT I am truly hopeful that like all of Kelly’s books the next adventure will have them all tied in in some way somehow!! THAT is what I love most about her books, that they are each their own but you also get those little glimpses of someone from a past book so it feels as though it’s not leaving them behind! ❤️
