Unexpected Alpha Protector

In an instant, you can go from being a fated mate to a hate-filled enemy.
All girls want your attention; their gaze is always drawn to you, while your gaze crosses the crowd and lands only on my face.
Being with you is one of the few delightful things that has happened to me. I spent a lot of time separating myself from other people, and it was you who drew me to your side and demonstrated that relying on others is not impossible.
The wind through my hair was like your love through my chest, and all those times of loneliness were gone. I gave myself to you.
But I can no longer recall this false happiness; your love has woven a large net, and you are ready to draw that net closed from the first step I took.
Is that you? Was it you who poked the truth that I couldn't shift, who made me a laughingstock, who revealed that I was an outcast, forcing me to be ostracized and exiled?
Don't explain, don't say you love me; my last wish is to run away from you.

She doesn't know her true heritage.
It's kept from her for her whole life until she turns 21 and doesn't shift like the other wolves.
She's forced out of her pack, hunted until she comes across another pack, that just wants to use her for her heritage.
Eventually her fated one helps her break free and her heritage saves both of them, but at the same time it sets their future in place.
It started before she was born.
I think there's more to come though.

This well-written, original fated mate tale is a keeper! This is just the beginning of Freya, and Lucian’s story. Freya is a hybrid, wolf/witch who can’t fully shift, and Lucian, the alpha's son, Is her fated mate. The winter solstice is the night that marks the beginning of Freya and Lucian’s journey. Their adventure is fraught with riveting passion, drama, action, suspense, twist/turns, enemies, survival, strength, courage, heartache, hopelessness, revelations, confrontations, healing, loyalty, betrayal, revelations, confrontations, mistakes, violence, tragedy, forgiveness, patience, happiness, and love. This tale ended in a way that there must be a second installment in the works, and I can’t wait to read it. I highly recommend this read.

Freya works in a bar in Colorado with other wolf shifters. A big celebration is occurring because at 21 they shift into their wolves. Only, Freya half-shifted! She has no clue what is wrong with her. Lucian is the alpha’s son and turns out fated to Freya. They will come together, and he is happy. She knows she cannot be with him because of what is wrong with her.

When the jealous women of the pack learn her secret, they tell all. She gets fired from her job and banished from the pack. Lucian does not tolerate these decisions and goes after her. When she finds herself in enemy territory, she is surprised they welcome her with open arms. Then, she discovers the real secrets! Can she save her wolf pack from the enemies? Will Lucian and she find their HEA?

Gertty Rudraw is an awesome author who continually writes unique storylines and plots with well developed characters who you fall in love with. Freya and Lucien are no exception. This book contains wolves and witches and a vampire Queen. It's action-packed, fast-paced and suspenseful. Once you open this book up, you'll have a hard time putting it down until it is finished. I would highly recommend it to others.

Books by this author are pretty hit or miss, and this one was definitely a miss.

Rough writing, limited character development, and there are at least seven mean girl villains. They are all slutty and sadistic. It’s my least favorite villain trope because it comes across as misogynistic when villainous attributes involve being sexual, flirting, and wearing revealing clothing. This book can’t seem to choose which mean girl is the villain… there’s an army of them, and they can’t keep their clothes on.

Although this is part of a series it is also easy to read as a stand alone. When witches and wolves come together things can either go very right or very wrong and this story has both in abundance . Secrets and misunderstandings dont help matters and lack of special education hurts things even more but can fated love work through it all ?.

While I'm not sure where the "second chance rejected mate" comes from; this shifter romance was intense. A small part even brought tears to my eyes. The strength of the alpha female was detailed and hope inspiring. The dedication of her fated alpha male was so romantic and strong. It should be interesting to see where the next book goes.

This is a well written book with strong characters and an intriguing storyline. The author does a great job developing the story and pulled me in with the secrets, misunderstandings and the second chance romance. She moves the story fluidly and delivers a terrific read.

DNF. The writing is very immature, like a sophomore in high school wrote this. I didn’t get to the supposed rejected mate scene. I was too irritated by the lack of communication following the H and h’s first sexual encounter, which was totally instalove. Nope. Just couldn’t care about these two boneheads to read further.

Lots of excitement

This is truly one of the best werewolf books I have read. The characters and back story are great. There is no rejection or cheating.

The plot is very exciting and keeps you turning the pages to the end.

Unexpected Alpha Protector

Unexpected is right on point. Too many secrets makes everything awry and innocents trusting the wrong people. I'm glad Lucian didn't give up on his mate, she needed all the help should get.

This is book three in this series Fated to Wolf. The characters fit well together and have great chemistry. I am looking forward to reading more in this series.

poorly written

If you like grammatical errors, sentences that don’t make sense, and an author that randomly switched the name of the main character, this is the book for you.
