I’m at a bar trying to poison a mark like the professional I am when I see him.

Straight from Tartarus, they say the shadow dragon called Legion has slayed entire armies single-handedly, and the intense way he looks at me suggests every rumor I’ve heard about him is true.

I should be terrified. Instead, I’m drawn like a moth to a flame.

The moment he touches me, everything changes.

Suddenly, my skin is the poison. One touch is enough to kill a man, which is exactly what I do before I realize what Legion has done to me.

I vow to make him pay.

The pull I feel toward him is a beacon—or a leash—but he’s not the easy mark I expected.

To my utter horror, I go from hunter to captive.

If I want to earn my freedom, I’ll have to give him the one thing he demands: me.

Hunt Me is a spicy standalone romantasy set in the Immortal Vices and Virtues Universe. Every book is a guaranteed happily ever after with a satisfying ending and no cliffhangers. Perfect for fans of Immortals After Dark, Black Dagger Brotherhood, and the Demonica series.

Just can't.

This is the first book out of both series that I just can't finish. I have had other ones where the main character was annoying as hell or beyond idiotic or stubborn, but this is the first one that I just absolutely cannot stand her because she just has ALL of the terrible qualities. No matter how annoyed Ng the other characters could be the story itself was decent enough to keep me in but between how insanely stupid and annoying Tori and and how Legion played into making things worse even when it was obvious, I just couldn't even stand their story, pet alone them as a possible couple. That isn't even touching on how beyond stupid Tori treats her sister and refuses to listen even knowing her sisters powers. I'm praying the next book gets back to the normal amazingness of this world.

Original review

This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Heather Hildenbrand!

Hunt Me is the third standalone book in the third season of the Immortal Vices and Virtues: Shadow Shifter Bonds,  and tells the story of Tori and Legion.

When I got my hands on the next book Immortal Vices and Virtues world, Hunt Me, I got so excited!  This Fantasy Romance universe is so well-written and amazing, and I love that the authors keep on adding new books to the universe. This world that they have created is so interesting, and the characters and stories are so enjoyable to read about. The Immortal Vices and Virtues books have the right amount of romance, action, spice and more! I highly recommend reading all three seasons!

Hunt Me is already the third book in the third Immortal Vices and Virtues season. I love that the release dates are pretty close to each other, so we don't have to wait long for the next book! The third Immortal Vices and Virtues season is about the shadow world/Tartarus, and I love that all three books in this season intertwine with each other. In the previous seasons there were books that had some reoccuring characters, but in the third season, so far, all the books are connected (but can still be read as standalones). In Hunt Me we read about Tori and Legion, and like the previous books in this season they aren't really happy with their mating bond. But as the story moves along, they are slowly starting to open up to each other, and more...

I really liked Tori and Legion, and their story. This book was another amazing addition to the Immortal Vices and Virtues universe. I truly cannot get enough of the Immortal Vices and Virtues books. This series is so addictive, the books aren't too long and you just want to know how the characters are going to get their happy ending. I'm so happy with Tori and Legion's ending, and I'm really looking forward to reading about the next characters and their happy ending!

Quick Reasons: fated mates; dragon shifters; potent, powerful magics; solid world building; richly descriptive prose; entertaining, could not put it down

HUGE thanks to Heather Hildenbrand for the title! My review is voluntarily written and in no way impacted or altered by this gesture.

She wants it—not like I do, thanks to these double fucking moons, but still. I can scent her desire for me, but she’s not letting herself give in to it. And the longer she resists, the harder it’s becoming for me to keep my hands off her.

She thinks her touch will kill me.

I believe her.

But I’m beginning to think not touching her will have the same effect.

What do you get when you combine fated mates with a "touch him and HE dies" plot twist? You get me, throwing a tuna tantrum all over my bedroom as I watch the story unfold. This is a fast-paced, entertaining, heart-pounding read from start to finish. Heather Hildenbrand also leaves NOTHING to chance, snaring you with sass and holding you hostage with more twists than you'd think possible.

The world building in this read is solid, filled with richly descriptive prose that will enable even the most aphantastic (is that the word?! Ugh) reader to imagine (somehow) what's happening. Dragon shifters matched with potent, powerfully woven magical journeys make this a very hard book to put down once you've picked it up.

“It’s easier to hate you,” I whisper.

“Then hate me, my little assassin. Even while you come for me, while you scream my name and beg for more, loathe me. It won’t stop me from claiming you in the end. From killing for you. From draining you of every drop of cursed poison in your veins. You’re mine, little poisoner. There’s nothing you can do to change that.”

I definitely recommend this to lovers of fated dragon mates romances, dark fae magics, and stories you'll be diving recklessly into. The hunt is begun, Penguins. Are you ready to be claimed?

Love this book

have been wanting to know more about Legion since he was first mentioned in the very first book, and his story is amazing. Tori doesn't trust anyone at all, not even herself truth be told....and when she finds herself needing the one person who has even more trust issues than her? It's an amazing story that will suck you in. Not everyone is who they seem, answers are revealed and a HEA is found....it just takes a minute.
This shared world is absolutely worth reading. Legion is mine, I have licked him and everything

I am so over fmc’s who are so utterly close-minded and over-the-top judgmental about shit they don’t even know.

I was so excited to read about Legion. So, so excited. And then Tori fucked it all up. Her sister seemed awesome though. This book would have been great if someone had slit Tori’s throat at the very beginning, and if Legion and Kendall would have been mates.

Another great book added to the Immortal Vices and Virtues world! Hunt Me is Legion (who we meet earlier in the season and I am so glad we got his story) and Tori’s story. Legion and Tori both have to overcome their mistrust and wariness of others, but as with all other books in this series there is a happy-ever-after. The world building in this book is absolutely amazing! Along with the world-building, the romance, spice, action filled plot, and some mystery. The slow burn is to die for, which I loved. I highly recommend Hunt Me to anyone who already loves or is new to fantasy/paranormal romance!

Love to Hate

The third book in the new series Hunt Me follows Tori and Legion, both fighting the mate bond. Tori an assassin, who has been taking care of her sister since their parents died, and her sister come first. Which also contributes to part of her fight against the mate bond. She ends up cursed after meeting her mate (Legion), poison kissed. Her skin becomes poisonous and anyone who comes into contact with her skin will die. Tori struggles with trust, and she does not trust Legion or the mate bond. Even though they both do not want the mate bond they cannot seem to reject it either.

Legion is the General of the Tartarus Army, imprisoned in Tartarus for 5,000 years. He feels the mate bond is just another prison sentence. We first meet Legion in Mate Me, and I really enjoyed getting to learn more about his background. It made for a very interesting plot in Hunt Me. We get to read as the mystery unfolds on Legion’s origins.

As they get to know each other the walls they built start to crumble, caring for one another and start to build trust but still fragile. There is a lot of back and forth and you can really feel the frustration in not being able to touch each other or when they seem to get closer something happens to pull them apart again. Really wanting to reach through the book and give each one a little smack but they get there in the end.

Hunt Me was a really good read, I recommend you check it out. Get to experience the book you will love to hate with the teasing relationship between Tori and Legion.

I will have her in the end. My dragon takes what it wants. She will be no different.

I loved Legion. I loved learning about his past and what made him who he was as a man and as a powerful dragon. He was so fascinating. I hated the life he was forced to live and the reasons he was brought into this world but the man he became clearly won out over the evil surrounding his birth and intended purposes.

I did like Tori most of the time. There were many times I felt she was just exhausting in her combative and distrustful reactions to everything. And while of course I understood why she'd be that way it didn't make her any less trying when all you wanted was for her to stop being so...well rude and argumentive all the time. 😂 Regardless, she was a strong chick. She had to raise her younger sister Kendall since she was a teenager herself. She had some interesting powers with her unique origins. She was obviously a decent match for Legion.

Overall this was an intriguing installment in this series. I hate that we had to wait absolutely foreverrrr to get Legion and Tori truly mated. Even if we had all the very obvious reasons why they couldn't finish the bond until they did it was still tickling my impatience there at the end. Otherwise a good read. Well written, entertaining and a fascinating plot if not a wee bit long. I do wish we could have seen more from Klyn and his son though.

Favorite Quotes
“You have touched what doesn’t belong to you,” my mate snarls. “And now you will pay.”

“You are beautiful and deadly, little fae.”

“Your mouth is going to get you in trouble.”

“I’ve survived many dangerous creatures in my life, little flower. I have no doubt I can handle you.”

"I can bear anything except losing you.”

“I want you too,” I blurt before I can take it back. “And it pisses me off.”

“Why are you looking at me like that?”
“I want to kiss you,” he says quietly. “Very, very badly.”

“Your blue balls are making us all grumpy. Go get laid, boss. The world will still be waiting for you to burn it down when you get back.”

“When you say it like that, you make it sound so…cute.”
“It is cute.” I scowl.
“I’m badass. Not cute.”
“Of course, my mistake.”

I want very much to live for you instead. To find a way to touch you. And claim you. And make you mine like I’m already yours.

“I have no ego when it comes to you, little assassin. But you underestimate my determination to have you.”

“Belonging to you is not a trap at all, little assassin. You have made me free.”

I couldn't wait to see who was going to be paired up with Legion with his mystery in book 1 and then drinking buddies/bestie to Styx in book 2 and was not prepared for the BA of his mate! She was dealt such a horrible deal but loved their HEA <3

Narrators did a phenomenal job. I have listened to them before in countless audiobooks and they fantastic with their different characters and personalities. The only complaint (and this is hard with a shared world) is the accent for some of the previous characters earlier on in the series. This made for some of the males to not be consistent between stories by different authors (Caius for example sounded completely different accent-wise in book 3 than he did in book 1 - his own story). Besides that I enjoyed their rendition. I felt the push and pull of their bond, how Tori's predicament made it even more difficult. This is definitely considered a slower burn because of it but there is a valid reason why hahaha. No one wants to die early on in a book haha.

Now on to the story! Tori has had to play mom to her younger sister, is a poisoner/assassin, and is cursed unbeknownst to her and kills someone she wasn't intending to (not an innocent but not the plan). She has to deal with the ramifications of it...btw it would make for an amazing movie with all the darkness her magic did, the way the author described it all was amazing, how the producers and CGI would go the graphics/animations. I could imagine the black veins, the poisonous trees/vegetation, using the poisons as she was forced to do. ALL SO GOOD!

Legion is a conundrum because sometimes he is almost like a frat guy but in other instances he is a big ol' protective teddy bear and just wants to be around his mate, be there for her. I loved seeing him slowly whittle her down and getting her sister involved to help haha. I liked his power/creature. His background is tragic and won't give anything away but it comes back to bite him and Tori and there is a huge confrontation. And glad things worked out how they should in the end haha. I wasn't ready for all the humor in this one. He was pretty snarky and called Tori out, but I mean she gave it right back haha.

Loved the side characters, the cameos were amazing! Seeing the group before and after mates show up was so fun. I liked how they welcomed Tori into the fold, even prickly Styx haha. I know Spencer's story is next (we got to meet her in this book briefly and as a little hint/tease) am looking forward to the next romance.

Great story/audiobook, this is one of the strong seasons of the IVV world. I would put this one up close to season 2 (that one still has the lead!), both way better than season 1 to be honest. On to the next one!

"I look up at him, hope and fear and need and what feels a lot like trust all blooming inside me." ~ Tori

Heather Hildenbrand upped her writing game in the latest addition to her book universe, Hunt Me - A Dragon Shifter, Fae, Nymph, Vampire, and other assorted and sundry creatures romance. Hunt Me is a stand alone book in the Immortal Vices and Virtues: Shadow Shifter Bonds series.

I ate up this book. I love how fiercely Tori loved her sister and, overbearingly, wanted to protect her. Kendall was so patient with Tori's fear of something happening to her but also having confidence in her own abilities.

Legion - yes please. You need to read this book. Heather Hildenbrand had me blushing! Sizzling scenes between Tori and Legion. Just … wow. And how he showed her who he is instead of just telling her. His deeds went a long way.

Who knew Tartarus could be so appealing? The author excelled at worldbuilding. And characters? Styx cracks me up. She's a great foil to Legion. There are other amazing characters! Read this book!

I'd like to thank the author for a gifted copy in exchange for an honest review.

My Synopsis:
Torissa "Tori" Sage has spent everyday since her parents were killed raising her little sister, Kendall and trying to keep her safe it the Crossroads City. Tori, an assassin, specifically a poisoner because of her affinity with herbs, is hired to kill a wizard. Tori's code allows her only to kill those who are evil and never an innocent. In the process of the poisoning, she encounters the man who is her fated mate - a dragon shifter named Legion. Their mating bond forms but with a hitch - Tori's skin becomes poisonous. One touch from her and a person dies. It effects her, too.

Legion - the Legendary Death Dragon who has wiped out entire civilizations with his dragon, is now hopelessly tied to Torissa Sage, a poisoner whose skin could kill him. His every thought is on protecting her once a hit is put out on her. She resists. But can he change her mind?

So, this book was a 3.75 for me. I did enjoy it as part of the overall series but for me I didn't quite feel the chemistry between the two main characters. Both are very distrustful and have been hurt in the past and it makes it hard for them to trust the other's motivations. You have Legion who was essentially enslaved by his mother and made to do unspeakable acts and then you had Tori who everyone in her life has passed away or left her and she has been raising her sister since she was 16. She is suspicious of everyone and everything and thinks everyone is out to hurt her and her sister. For this deep-seated mistrust on both their ends as well as it being a slow burn made it hard for me to see the chemistry between these two the end of the book so maybe the last 25% is where I felt the chemistry between the two.
I will say the plot outside the relationship was really interesting and is what kept me interested in the book especially as we got more background on Legion who was introduced in previous, so I was really curious as to what his story was. I also loved the new side characters like Tori's sister who were introduced in this book, and I hope with her especially we get more of her in books to come. Overall, the book kept me interested and I was glad to read another book of this ongoing series/world and see all the characters that I have gotten to know over the series again.

When our FMC assassin takes out a mark, she also sees him, it distracts her for a moment and then all chaos breaks loose and she accidentally kills someone else. Not because they were struck by the same poison Tori used on her mark, she checks her pockets for that, but literally because the other person touched her. Confused, Tori makes it home to her little sister Kendall wondering what the hell just happened.

Legion on the other hand storms back to Tarturus and refuses to accept that the woman he ran into the bar is his mate, his own mother made sure he would never find his other half. Things get dicey though and he ends up bringing Tori and her sister back to his home to protect her from those who are after her for the second death, which was never meant to happen. But he's keeping a secret from her, that he doesn't want her to know in case she runs.

Talk about enemies to lovers, cause Tori wants nothing more than to end Legion in exchange for her own freedom. The tension is real and so is the connection between the two. Tori's little sister has to be one of my favourites, she's smart and sassy and has the bonus of seeing the future. Also, plot twist at the end that I absolutely loved in more ways than one.

This was a brilliant addition to the IVV: Shadow Shifter Bonds series and I really can't wait to see what comes next in this pocket of the IVV world!

A Fun Read with Stubbornly Strong Characters, Unwanted Bonds, and a Mysterious Curse

Hunt Me is an enjoyable tale. Tori and Legion, the main characters, have a lot of emotional baggage and that makes them so much more relatable. Not always likeable, but definitely more real. Mix in a sneaky-smart sister, a surprise mating bond, a mysterious curse, and a crazy-evil parent and you are in for a fantastic adventure.

Along the way, Tori and Legion must address their issues before they are able to embrace their bond to save the day. The only complaint I have is with the pacing. The romance is a lot of lust, they just do not have the time in a standalone story to address their problems, deal with the emotions, learn about each other, and fall in love. In contrast, the book still has a strong plot that delivered an engaging and entertaining story even without the romance. So overall, I can suspend my disbelief and minor qualms. It is fantasy after all.

To summarize:

🪴Length: Novel

😈Genre: Paranormal romance with urban and portal fantasy – fae, shifters, vampires, magic, etc.

🧪POV: First person, alternating between the female and male lead characters

🐲Age: Adult

🪴Warnings: Language, violence, and sexual content

😈Spice: Slower-burn spice (relatively speaking, since this is a standalone), but it is written on page, medium heat

🧪Violence: Moderate, action-focused with a little torture mixed-in. Parental bonds are abused and used against a character

🐲Editing: I noticed a few minor issues, but nothing that really pulled me from the story

🪴World: Post-supernatural-apocalypse Earth

😈Series: Immortal Vices and Virtues: Shadow Shifter Bonds (Season 3) – it would be okay to start here, as you do not need to read any of the other books to understand this one. However, it is a richer experience if you have read the other stories

🧪Tropes: Fated mates, unwanted bonds, chosen family, enemies to lovers, curse breaking, strong heroine, protective male

🐲Ending: Happily ever after – this is a standalone

🪴Re-read? Yes!

Tori is a hired assassin who kills her targets with poison, but they're never innocent. After finishing her latest job, she crosses paths with Legion, her fated mate. Unfortunately for her, he unknowingly curses her in the process, making her touch lethal to anyone. Now she’s on a mission to either get him to break the curse or kill him herself. Legion never expected to meet his mate, and definitely not someone as fiery as Tori, but he refuses to leave her unprotected, even if staying close might get him killed.

Overall, I enjoyed the book. The fact that they literally couldn’t touch each other made the tension way more intense than in previous books. Nothing completely blew me away, but the plot twists were solid. Some of them caught me off guard more than I expected, even if I had a feeling they were coming. Tori got on my nerves a few times, but not enough to ruin the story. Honestly, I liked her sister more. Legion was a solid MMC, though he had a few too many dense moments for my taste. Because of the curse, there wasn’t much spice, but what we got was still detailed enough to keep things interesting.

I’m not reading every book in this series, and to be honest, none of them have totally wowed me. This one was definitely one of the better ones, but I don’t think I’d recommend the whole series.

Hunt Me is the latest book in the Immortal Vices and Virtues collection and if you love wicked dragons then you're not going to want to miss out on this book.
Remember Legion? Well, this is his book. He's a dragon shifter, but that's not the half of it. No, Legion has some insanely cool abilities and that is part of what gripped me into this book concerning his character.
Tor is his fated mate and she's another dynamic character. She's got her issues, but one can't really blame her...for the most part. She's an assassin for hire and has some really good skills, but when a hit goes wrong...well, cue chaos. Apparently the Crimson Roses are a huge problem.
Hunt Me is an interesting story in that it seems to blend the timelines of the series. Of course, it's after book one, but then it blends with Styx's story in a way that this is all overlapping. Part of me wanted it to be each has their own...ya know...one at a time, so that there can be some entertainment with reactions, but that's not really the case. It's okay though because it's still an engaging storyline.
With Tori being cursed (accidentally mind you) her and Legion are going to have some quality time together to figure out how to fix it...and how to be together.
Fantastic book 5 out of 5 stars

Hunt Me is the third book in the Shadow Shifter Bonds Series which is part of the Immortal Vices and Virtues World. I was so excited to get Legion’s story and history. Ever since getting a snippet of him in the other books, I have been very curious about him. He did not disappoint. I love me a dragon shifter, then add shadows and you got my favourite kind of MMC. Learning is history and the reasons he is in Tartarus was so much fun and explained a lot about his personality.

The story is great in this one, learning about Tori and her sister, Kendall. And now I can’t wait until I get Kendall’s story. Tori is an assassin with a code who gets cursed and cannot touch anyone without killing them. I like Tori’s character arc and how she learns to open up and to be able to let others take care of her, since she has been the one who takes care and protects everyone else.

I very much enjoy how these books overlap and how all the characters interact with each other. Great read. Loving the IV&V World and will have to go back to the very beginning and read all the other books involved in this universe.

4.5 stars! Yet another fantastic story in the immortal vices and virtues world. I loved how this story gives us not only the dark and broody morally grey MMC, but our FMC is also her own level of dark and broody. Legion is an infamous and feared dragon shifter from Tartarus, with no interest in a mate bond or anything in that realm of possibility. Tori is an unaliver for hire, with a specialty in pőisons. A brief encounter, and a slight touch changes everything for them, when they realize their mates, and she realizes she’s cursed now and her touch is dêadly, he must be the cause!

This is a fantastic back and forth, she’s determined to unalive him, having been told it’s the only way to get herself out of a bad situation. And she’s determined, mate or not, to do it. He’s running, hiding, not because of her děadly intent, but because he wants nothing to do with a mate. But as will all these great stories, there is much more in the layers below. His history is devastating, his family leaving more than a lot to be desired, used by his mother, abandoned by his father, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Her story is tragic in its own way, the loss of her parents, taking care of her younger sister, just trying to survive in the Crossroads No Man’s Land.

This is classic and well done enemies to lovers. Great banter, love the dynamic and chemistry between them. And while this is VERY slow burn, obv because she literally can’t touch him or he’ll ☠️, but there still manages to be a good amount of steam and some really fantastic tension. And as they get to know each other, and of course fall for each other, it just gets better and better.

Absolutely loving these shadow shifter mate stories. A little darker and grittier, with some great characters and plots, and the spice is fantastic.

𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙍𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜: 🌶🌶🌶

I really enjoyed this book!

I loved Tori, the half-nymph half-fae FMC. I connected with her from the start, and felt so much for her in the way she had to care for her sister. I thoroughly enjoyed how fiesty and unaliving she was...especially towards her fated mate.

I also enjoyed getting to see a different side to Legion, the dragon shifter MMC. I loved how protective he was, and how smitten he became. His backstory was really interesting.

This book is set at about the same time as Shadow Me, but after Mate Me, and had some lovely character cross-overs from previous IVV books. If reading the series, I would suggest starting with Mate Me first, but so far, I think you could choose what to read next. But you could also definately read this as a standalone.

☆I received an ARC of this book from the author. All thoughts are my own honest opinions.☆

Tori and Legion

I think the narrators did a good job. So far the narrators chosen for the audios told the story in a relaxing and enjoyable way.

Tori is an assassin who is also responsible with taking care of her sister. Legion is a dragon shifter from Tartarus. Even though it says it's the third book in the series it is a standalone a character may be mentioned but since different authors wrote books on other characters there aren't any real spoilers. I love how feisty, fierce, stubborn and ready to fight these female characters are. Legion is protective and even though Tori is his mate not only does he have to deal with her stubbornness, he also isn't allowed to touch her as she is cursed and who ever comes in contact with her skin dies. There's a bunch of stuff going on, trying to find out who cursed her, the chemistry between the two of them, the war games Legion and his army play, Legion and his crazy family ect. So far there are five books out on audio I am going to listen to another one and I hope that all the books in the series come out on audio.

Circumstances had caused Tori to do whatever it took so she and her sister could survive, but this was nothing compared to the guilt Legion carried within him. The were two beings fighting hard not only against the attraction they felt but also against powerful enemies full of black magic that were hiding horrible secrets. The past seemed to loom over them, and in what way! Legion had kept me intrigued in the previous stories with his intense personality and enigmatic character, so I was not surprised by the darkness that surrounded him. The descriptions of him were very striking to me, creating a picture of strength, power, and mixed feelings. On the other hand, Tori feared the vulnerability Legion made her feel and how this could affect her, and her sister's lives. The animosity they intended to feel was interesting and exciting. Of course, Tori becoming a walking poison added to the spice because there was more distance between them that made me think harder. The villains turned out to be incredibly bad and very tough to kill. I loved how the author handled the threads, creating a Super fight, full of possibilities and surprises that left me waiting for the Seer's story. Lots of action, suspense, black magic, vampires, shifters, mystery, betrayal, violence, romance, and passion. Enjoyed so much the story. The whole package for me.

Hunt me is book three in the third run of the immortal vices and virtues. Each book can be read alone. Honestly I recommend reading them all! It's quite brilliant to have so many authors come together to create this well thought out and adventurous books.
Now to Tori an amazing hybrid who has a knack/job for poisons. Tori had to grow up quick and has always felt responsible for taking care of her sister. This becomes difficult when one touch changes her life. Not only does Tori meet her mate but she develops a sudden death by touch. The kind of touch that puts you on the wrong side of things. Now Tori has to put trust in the last thing she ever wanted...a mate.

I love seeing Legion's story come to life and the intro of Tori. Their story is both filled with tragedy and trust issues. This book was well done with the world building and plot. This ends with a HEA. I loved reading this and squashed it quite quickly!

This is book 3 in the multi author series Immortal Vices and Virtues: Shadow Shifter Bonds and can be read/listened as a standalone. A well written and captivating dark, paranormal romance read. Plenty of twists, turns and suspense with some sweet and steamy chemistry and romance along the way. Our main characters are Legion and Tori, both of which have overcome difficulties. Legion's mother is a horrid being and Tori lost both parents and has been trying to raise her younger sister. When a job goes awry, Tori's whole life is turned upside-down and the events that ensue will have you glued to your device. The dual narration talents of Puckett and Amherst were wonderfully delivered and really brought our characters and their personalities to life. I so enjoyed this book and this series and am looking forward to more!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I voluntarily provided this review.

You really can’t go wrong with any of these IVV books—and this one is no exception. What’s not to love about a female lead who is an assassin, specializing in p0!s0n?

Oh and then there’s a d34th dragon with occasional bl00d |ust…

“Today, I will destroy everything that has hurt her …”

Sooo yea. It’s fun! It has a hint of crossover with some of the others in this world (well, that I know of, as I’m still reading my way through it), and a good amount of action.

Dystopian vibes.
Fae … ALL the supernaturals.
Assassin.
Fated mates.
T0rture sessions.
Mysteries.
Slow-burn romance.
Enemies-to-lovers.
Gods.
Magic.

Overall:
A fun listen and contribution to this world, IMO.
4 stars.

🎧 Audio:
The audio is of course, amazing, with these top-notch narrators. This is a stellar production—5 stars. 🦩

Hunt Me by Heather Hildenbrand is a dragon shifter romantasy that I listened to on audio narrated by Sarah Puckett and James Amherst. This book is set in the Immortal Vices and Virtues universe and can be read as a standalone.

This is the first book of Heather’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. I loved the push and pull between Legion and Tori. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

James and Sarah did an amazing job on and narration. I loved that they preformed the book as a duet narration. It really brought the story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you’re looking for a romantasy, paranormal romance, or a shifter romance.

Audiobook Review:
I really enjoyed this shifter romance, fated mates’ story. I liked that there was a twist thrown in besides just their stubbornness making their mating hard. I liked that the Tartarus world was different than portrayed in other books I’ve read/listened to and the people from that world were so likable. I enjoyed the plot twists and surprises in this, and even the moment when I thought all was lost. Overall, this was a just a good story and I’d be interested in checking out more from this series as well as more from this author. The narrators both knocked it out of the park for me, especially with the duet narration style. I thought they perfectly suited the main characters and did a pretty good job giving a little tone variation for the secondary ones.

Tori annoyed me so much, at times I just wanted to shake her. She's argumentative and combative just to be argumentative and combative. It was tiresome. Legion is truly her match, she needs someone who can take what she doles out and who can give as good as he gets or she would eat him alive.

That doesn't mean Legion was without his faults. His personality in the beginning irritated me but luckily he learned from his mistakes. I started to like him a little before the halfway mark. He's just as stubborn as Tori is but he learned to trust far sooner than she did and he put in a lot of effort which I liked.

Talk about enemies-to-lovers, they both were fighting the mate bond but that was doomed for failure, there was just too much chemistry between them. They begin falling for each other as they get to know one another. It's slowly, trust and respect had to be earned and while things were shakey for a bit they came they pulled through.

The best plot twist. It was the thing that I least expected but gave me the most shock. My jaw literally dropped and I gasped! Actually, gasped! That plot twist changed everything I knew about what was going on in IMVAV as well as opened up a whole new world of possibilities. Game changer is what that's called. This is not where I thought the story would go nevertheless I was riveted.

Gods, what an ending, it was full of surprises and had plenty of action. I had a lot of fun reading Hunt Me, forced proximity, he falls first, a MFC with anger issues, and death magic are just some of the boxes this book checks. Just more proof of why the IMVAV is one of my favorite universes.

It seems that dragon romance books are the hottest books right now. Thus, you are going to want to read this book. Legion will show you why with his sexy good looks, brooding attitude, and the heat that he and Tori bring. I loved him in both his human and dragon forms.

Tori and Legion did not start out with the warm and fuzzy feeling for each other. In fact, Tori was trying to k!ll Legion, despite her being his fated mate. Yet, the more time they spent in each other's company, the found they could not resist each other.

I like the balance of the storyline with the romance. It was a good balance where never element overtook the other. This book has the enemies to lovers, forced proximity, fated mates, touch her and d!e vibes all rolled into this romantasy.

Tori is an assassin who specializes in poisons.  Legion, her mate, is known as the death dragon, for being a ruthless murderer.  After being accidentally cursed, Tori's touch is poisonous, killing anyone unfortunate enough to come into contact with her skin.  Legion brings Tori to Tartarus to keep her safe from her new enemies.  The two try to break her curse while resisiting the desire from the mating bond because her touch would kill him.

Okay, so I had my doubts.  She's cursed so early on, and there's this immediate attraction even through hate, but they can't touch.  The spice without them touching is still top-notch.  It's a different kind of kinky, and I'm so here for it!  I love how possessive and protecting Legion is of Tori. And her sister is a breath of fresh air in the story.

I really enjoyed this book!! It gave everything that I needed! Legion and Tori are both characters that could stand very well on their own. Tori the assassin fae and Legion the dragon general of Tartarus. It was nice! I liked how immersive the world felt and even the side characters are very well thought out. They aren't just there to be there. The only thing I didn't like (besides the fact that I finished the book) was that Tori could be annoying at times. There is stubborn and then there is Tori. Though sometimes she could tell that that's what she's being. Also, I wanted a bit more spice. The interludes that these two had with each other were definitely H O T, I just wanted a little bit more payoff. Other than that, this book was amazing and I definitely recommend it!!
