Rosalind may be the new Librarian of Atlantis, but she has to gain the trust of the fae…even if it kills her.
Rosalind wants to help fae patrons at the mythical Library of Atlantis, but most of them don’t trust someone raised in the human world. Even the fae that support her, like the mysterious sasquatch Henry, have doubts she can do the job.
But the library isn’t her only problem. Someone is using the island of Atlantis for illicit gain, and they view Rosalind as a threat. If Rosalind doesn’t stop them, she might lose more than just her job.
Secret of the Fae Library is an action-packed urban fantasy with cozy elements. Perfect for readers who enjoy magical midlife Paranormal Women’s Fiction.

Born in Idaho's Magic Valley (you can't make this stuff up), DM Fike lived in Japan teaching English before calling Oregon home. She loves family, fantasy, and food (mostly in that order) and is on the constant look out for new co-op board games to play.

This is the second book in the Magical Midlife Librarian series. Rose has defeated Krampus’ schemes to assassinate Jack Frost. Now things can go back to normal and she just be the Librarian of Atlantis, right? Wrong! While searching the island and walking through a random portal, she stumbles upon a pixie kidnapping ring that Henry has been investigating. And once she knows what’s going, she won’t back down until she solves the case. And that won’t be easy when they’re using portals in her island to keep them hidden! Rose is still struggling to gain the respect of the other Fae. But she doesn’t let that stop her from trying! I love that she begins she become more confident in this book. And she even gets a curmudgeon or 2 to give her compliments! (Here’s looking at you Wallace and Henry!) We even get to read more about her brother and her best friend from high school who really is her best cheerleader! And the slow burn finally starts to pick up! Henry finally realizes he needs to tell Rose how he feels! I love that he is her grumpy sunshine! We learn more about the Sasquatch and incubi. Rose has to deal with more of the henchman from Krampus and even a sneaky visit from him as well! I really want Krampus to get what’s coming to him, so I can’t wait for the next book to see what happens to him!!
Rosalind is gradually figuring out the job of being the librarian. Things are working smoothly; she’s getting more Fae in the library that she can interact with but there are still problems. There’s an angel that keeps showing up, as well as Henry’s brother, Emil, an incubus wants to get close and while exploring the island she interrupts a pixie kidnapping. The pixies have been disappearing and Stronghold is looking for clues. With help from different books and journals in the library, more fairy rings are discovered. And all have to be searched. While being confined to the library by Henry’s orders, so she doesn’t get in danger, Rosalind still manages to get in trouble. This book has some action, mystery, surprises, tension and humour. As well the romance between Rosalind and Henry is getting stronger. A fun, quick, enjoyable read. This, as well as the Magical Midlife Mom series, are both very enjoyable and it’s good to see the characters easily blend into both sets.
Fascinating world-building, complex and unique characters and truly captivating storytelling. As a longtime UF reader, I love it when I stay up all night to read the next installment of a fun and exciting series. This one was well worth it! Many challenges for Rosalind in a strange and wonderful land with strange and wonderful characters... humans and otherwise... Whew - she is having one heckuva wild ride! Quite a change for a jobless, newly divorced woman... Can’t wait to see what comes next!
Rosalind Baldwin, has been the Librarian of Atlantis for a bit now, and there are some things going on. An Incubus is trying to make her his thrall. Pixies are going missing and Rosalind stumbles into it all by wandering through a random portal. Henry and Stronghold, and now Rosalind are trying to track down where the kidnapped pixies have been taken, before it's too late.
This story has fae plots, family in peril, a dragon and more of Henry, the swoony, if grumpy bodyguard. Recommended if you like cozy mysteries, books about living libraries and Fae Court politics.
Rosalind is back and trying to learn more about the fae and do better at her job. But things do not go quite as planned and she finds herself in trouble again and trying to save the day again. I thought it was a easy fun story that made me laugh. Read it in one sitting to see how Rosalind would save the day this time. Plus get to see more of her interactions with fae and Henry. Just fun story.
There are so many references to characters I know and weaved very nicely into the story. I mean Jack Frost and (Santa) Klaus on a tropical island 😀. Rose and Henry are definitely a pair even if they won’t acknowledge it. I enjoyed the story and how Rose is growing into her role as the Librarian!
Fae Adventure Mystery! This is an easy to read, interesting story with wonderful characters. Through this unpredictable, enjoyable book you will learn more about Henry and the Sasquatches and the other Fae.
Encourage, Inspire, Teach!!! I am Loving the tales in this series. With unique superpowers for different fae, and a living library, it's just fascinating!!! And the dragon!!! With adventure and justice for all!!!
This second installment was a little slower-paced than the first, and I didn’t enjoy the plot as much. But it did move the story along a bit, so I’ll likely continue the series.
Only thing bad about this book, is that it ended. Really am enjoying this series, and wish the next was already written. Characters, plots, and execution of this story is very well done. Again, I was so lost in the story, I am having a book hangover at its conclusion.
An interesting and fast moving novel that continues the adventures as Rose continues to try to adjust to this very different environment she finds herself in.
