In the span of a few days, Elliot’s dumped, offered a promotion at his part time job, and given more family secrets than one person should ever know.
Then the invasion happens, and Elliot has no choice but to honor his legacy.
With the help of his best friend, Bones, the new waitress from the local diner, and a mysterious soldier, Elliot must uncover the enigmas that surround Bell Island before it’s too late.
The The Complete Series Dark Invasion Dark City Dark World
From the author of The Event, The Other Place, Lost Contact, and Echoes from the Moon, comes an epic trilogy you won’t want to miss.
A wild and fun read as the July holiday weekend begins in the story but instead of the usual hi-jinks, get a wild and fun ride. Good characters and fun situations occur as introduced to the main characters and what happens to them. So much fun to read. Lots of action, thrills and fun. Lots of action and surprises that kept me reading to the end to see what would happen next and how it would play out. An interesting look at aliens and their invasion. Really had to know what was going on and why. Made me laugh and groan but I found it entertaining.
The first book start as a slow runner, so don't expect fast pace action at the beginning, as the author takes his time to set the pace and to develop his characters, reminding me as those Stephen King I used to read back in the 80's and early 90's. When the real action starts, it stops at the end of the trilogy.
Good story, but a little too « family friendly » for my own taste to give 5 stars. I prefer my stories more crass and dark, not with a PG MPA film rating or PG-13.
It started off rather innocently. There was a thunderstorm brewing, then some crescent lights appeared as does some monstrous aliens. ...and the invasion of Bell Island has commenced, to the surprise of a video shop attendant named Elliot. The Travelers by author Nathan Hystad is quite the immersive SciFi adventure with surprises all round and some very interesting characters in quite a convoluted alien invasion plot. Enjoy.
I thought the plot was fairly decent. I didn’t care too much for the Seattle setting, as they appeared to keep crossing back and forth in the city. They also seemed to go back and forth with the Samaritans. It was just too much verbiage for what was achieved. The scene settings were just okay. I could have used more. I thought the characters were well developed, and they are why I kept reading the series.
it reminded me of a wacky Scooby do cartoon and was appproiately set in that foreign land of the upper west corner of the United States, where tatoo artists came from. it is a light sci to comedy, a break from all the aliens enslave the earth plots we see now.
It was a good series but could have used more details on the tech, aliens, and why this location. The main characters were there but not well presented. The story was crisis driven and just had too many events that were just easily explained to the public; life doesn’t work that way.
As someone whose attention can wander, (look a squirrel!) any series that I start and finish in 3 days has to be good. I loved “The Travelers” premise and the action was awesome. Try it, you will like it! 🥸😁🤩
I thought we'd never get to the good part! This became an obsession. Glad it ended well, now if the Republican party just came to it's senses, all will be fine.
Very unusual style but enjoyable throughout, from the likeable but sneaky Esol and the scary and violent Sarc. And the twist at the end with the Outsiders. All in a great story.
This was a good idea for a storyline. Lots of plot twists and strange happenings. But best of all, NO sex scenes like some other people fill their books with, just good storytelling.
A fast-paced story with a whole lot of action and thrills along with a multitude of surprises. Hystad does a great job of developing the characters over the three books and you kinda feel sad when the series ends.
I did enjoy this series but have to be honest in saying that after finishing book 3 I felt as if I’d read the same story in three different expanded versions.
Highly recommend this page turning trilogy!! It's a well written, fun, fast, nasty ride. Mr Hystad brilliantly captures both the 1980's sociological environment as well as small town ambiance and interpersonal dynamics. The small town dynamics, the 1980's and the aliens (who come to hunt) are just brought together creating a great story!
