Cute but the alphabetical order is ludicrous and it could have used another round of editing. A lot of stuff like this: "It is born with a wondrous power that lets it bond with any kind of Pokémon. It starts its life with a wondrous power that permits it to bond with any kind of Pokémon." Or: "It lives in the crater of a volcano. It is well known that the humps on its back erupt every 10 years. If angered, the humps on its back erupt in a shower of molten lava. It lives in the craters of volcanoes." 🤣
Using an alphabetical order while the pokedex exists is the worst idea possible, it's just confusing. Adding the regions would've been helpful too. The info and the descriptions were very interesting and useful, but the overall layout was hard to follow so I ended up reading only about the Pokémon I was interested in. I wanted to learn more about the new generations but I ended up skipping them altogether.
Pokemon Super Duper Extra Deluxe Essential Handbook (yes, I’m really reviewing this) is a comprehensive round-up of all the Pokemon, but it could’ve used another editing pass: lots of typos and even some Pokédex entries that don’t make sense out of video game context
This book is a good guide to have and learn about ll the pokemon up to date. I do wish they had their strengths listed along with their weaknesses. Some of the descriptions were pretty ridiculous, others much more realistic.
A really fun book with some general fun facts about each pokémon but I expected more information. Some had very bare descriptions. Fun collector’s item
There are many mistakes, such as incorrect Poké Dex numbers or the wrong evolution, and for a few Pokémon, since the bios are taken from what I assume to be whatever the two most recent games’ Dex entries are for it, the bios are repeated verbatim twice in a row. Most of these mistakes could be remedied by a simple once over from an editor but since it’s a children’s book that care is clearly not put into these, which is disappointing. Also, they really need to just start calling these Pokémon Handbook Vol. 8 or something, these titles are getting crazy 😂 65 days
