Myrtlewood Crones #4

The Crone of Mystic Sparks

Rate this book
In the tranquil embrace of the Clochar of the Veiled Sisterhood, Delia Spark finds the days flow with peace and tranquility, far from the familiar streets of Myrtlewood. Her sudden disappearance leaves the Crones in turmoil, sparking a fervent quest to find her. Amidst the search, Ingrid's ancestral ties to the Clochar raise further questions.

Meanwhile, Marjie is grappling with some family secrets of her own. As the water Crone, her journey demands a plunge into depths unknown, challenging the limits of her courage and revealing the strength of her heart.

As the Crones navigate through tangled webs of magic and mystery, their bonds of friendship and power are tested, revealing that the true magic lies in their friendship and the courage to confront the unknown.

I’ve been reading in this universe for many books, and I’m also glad when there is another one to dive into. This book is more Marjie’s book, but it’s still centered around all the Crones. We get to see how all the factions are lining up to combat each other, and at the end of this one, we almost get to find out what one secret is…then it ends, gosh darn it. I enjoyed this one even if there was less of a mystery element and more of a finding yourself and your heritage plot. I can’t wait to see what the secret is, and I’m sure it relates to…well, read it and guess for yourself. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

I love this series, I have read all 4 in order, and getting ready for #5. If you enjoy or love books of Crones (Witches), I recommend this series. There is not a dull moment in these books, always something going on with the town, the Crones, and the bad guys. This has 4 Crones that are not what I was expecting, they are normal women with a calm life, and OH BOY, SO MUCH MORE! Each book is a continuation of the last one, it is an ongoing story. Makes me wish I had friends like them. I have to say Iris Beaglehole has a wonderful imagination, and a very good author, she puts you right in the middle of things with her writing.

LOL, A great but very lightweight read, nice and easy as you don't have to use your brain. I'm now at the age that I can say I earned this after reading lots of heavy duty stuff when at work and also in my spiritual plus search in spare time. I still read the heavy thinking type (need to keep the brain active!) but have to say these books are quite enjoyable to relax with. Worth the read if you want to relax but mainly for us older women!!!

Interesting series overall. Plenty of character development with each book, but more of a focus on an older generation of women. Each finding a new way through life, sometimes with a new significant other to make their way together. Quite a few mysteries remain for each character as they continue to work on pursuit of goodness for all - not just a few. Focus in this book is mostly Marjie but each character has time to shine and Delia still maintains a primary role in the plot.

So many conflicted characters leading us...

...to the next book. Many tests are passed with the help of deep friendship, tea, coffee and banter. Many ugly threats remain. How will they be faced?

Also with friendship, practice, study, insight and...no sacrifice?

Highly entertaining

This series has been a difficult read for me. Almost too much anxiety. The balance between romance and action has kept me awake too many nights in the desire to finish just one more book. Now I must wait till January. Need more patience.

Love the crones

The entire series has been riveting in a sneaky, heartfelt way.
Plot is fantastic without feeling contrived. Hate the cliff hanger ends, but they work to keep me ‘all in.”

Like the way the Crones are evolving with their powers and relationships. Glad Delia has been rescued and now to retrieve her Grimiore. Three dragons are found. Delican has survived! Marjie has learned much more about herself and conquered fears.
On to the next chapter - can't wait!

Another amazing story

Another amazing story from Iris. Each story connects with the previous one, and always leaves you wanting more. The story is simple and easy to read - it could be something brilliant if it went a bit deeper, but is nice for a simple, quick read.

I love these stories

So, im willing to overlook a few typos, mistakes in word choice, and illogical flows sometimes. It’s hard to follow at time, when characters do things either out of order, or clearly in the wrong space. But! The stories are cute enough to read anyway.
