Double Helix #1-4

Double Helix Collection

Rate this book
His genetic code sourced from the best that humanity offers, Galahad embodies the pinnacle of perfection. When Zara Itani, a mercenary, frees him from his laboratory prison, she offers him a chance to claim everything that had ever been denied him, starting with his humanity.

Perfection cannot be unleashed without repercussions; Galahad's freedom shatters Danyael Sabre's life.

An alpha empath, Danyael is rare and coveted, even among the alpha mutants who dominate the Genetic Revolution. He wields the power to heal or kill with a touch, but craves only privacy--an impossible dream for the man who was used as Galahad's physical template.

Galahad and Danyael, two men, one face. One man seeks to embrace destiny, and the other to escape it.

The eight-time award-winning Double Helix collection will defy your notions of perfection and humanity and plunge you into a world transformed by the Genetic Revolution.

Jade Kerrion, an award-winning author, got her start in fan fiction. She developed a loyal reader base with her fan fiction series based on the MMORPG Guild Wars. She was accused of keeping her readers up at night, distracting them from work, housework, homework, and (far worse), from actually playing Guild Wars.

And then she wondered why just screw up the time management skills of gamers? Why not aspire to screw everyone else up too? So here she is, writing books that aspire to keep you from doing anything else useful with your time.

She lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with her wonderfully supportive husband and her two young sons, Saint and Angel, (no, those aren't their real names, but they are like saints and angels, except when they're not.)

Double Helix Collection is a perfect collection by Jade Kerrion.

Perfection Unleashed is the perfect opening by Jade Kerrion for the Double Helix Collection. In this first book the author sets the reader up beautifully for an amazing series of which I am completely addicted to! The author comes up with an interesting plot in which she introduces us to my favorite character Danyael, one I wish would actually exist in real life and one I actually could call my friend. The plot is intricate and follows a perfect pace. There is always something happening and you are never left bored, that is for certain. There are some nice twists hidden that fit beautifully into the story. I had a difficult time putting this book down.

Danyael is an amazing character and I admit, I hurt whenever this character hurts. This character is so beyond nice that I can’t imagine that someone like him could actually exist in real life, but I hope that they do, because people like him would make this world a better place.

As I said I for one am hooked and will continue reading this series. If you start I can’t see why you wouldn’t be!

Perfect Betrayal is the sad continuation in the series written by Jade Kerrion. Don’t take me wrong, this book is just as amazing, but as the title says, the betrayal part is just sad since you can guess who will be betrayed. You slowly learn that they author has a greater picture in mind, but she only lets you see little pieces of it, as it fits the story. She is an expert in weaving a web so tight that you feel you will never get out of it, and then loosens it just a little that keeps you hanging on. This book, and this series, is impossible to put down! The pace as usual is just perfect, never does it feel like it drags out nor ever does it feel like the author rush you through the story. There is however always something happening so you feel like the story is flying by in no time at all.

The author manages to do quite a bit of character development and although she spends a lot of time on Danyael, you see how slowly but surely Zara is starting to use her brain. It is interesting to see how it seems she is finally “seeing” what is right in front of her eyes.

It is kind of funny, I bought the entire collection and every time I finish one I am sad, yet happy because I know I can continue right onto the next one. Trust me you won’t regret starting this series, except when you read them all and will have to wait for the author to write more.

Perfect Weapon is the third book in this collection and as usual fits perfect in this set written by Jade Kerrion. This one is in my eyes the darkest one in the collection and made me feel the worst for Danyael, one of the purest souls there is! And even when he knows he is being played and manipulated he still does what he feels is right to help those who can’t help themselves and to prevent innocents from getting hurt. There are not many selfless people like him out there. Even knowing the worst consequences his actions can bring, he still goes ahead. The character development this author does in this third book is absolutely amazing, and even when you want to shake your head about him, you eventually understand why he does the things he does, even when you know you could never do the same thing.

The plot in this book is even more intricate and still has even more twists hidden that are just really well developed and fit beautifully into the story. I am not sure how the author comes up with this story, but she did and I for one am very thankful since I couldn’t put this book down. I just read one book at a time and set my limits that way.

Perfection Challenged is the perfect conclusion for this collection set written by Jade Kerrion. Just when you think the author must be out of ideas by now, well think again, she is far from it and everything she has meticulously set up in the previous 3 books is finally coming together in a big crescendo! She left little bread crumbs here and there, sometimes leading you down the wrong path as you will find out like I did, to bring it all together in the end. The best part, not is there only lots of action in this story, it is also packed with character development! Who would think that it would also boil down to that and in the midst of it all, is Danyael’s unwavering belief in humanity. The pace is filled with constant action, never leaving you with a second to take a breath.

The way this book ends is probably why it is my favorite in all the books. Yes, his life is not perfect, there are still some issues, but because of his trust in humanity and how Danyael treats people, is the reason on why this book ends the way it does, and yes, I know the author wrote it but she wrote it that way because it makes sense. So yes, I love this collection and this series all together so I for one will get more books from this author.

It’s been awhile since I finished this series, I needed some time to process everything. This is the best series I have read in long long time and will remain in my list of all time favorites til I cease to be. Is perfection possible? What in reality is perfection? How does one qualify a perfect being? I have always been fascinated by genetics, and all sorts of DNA editing, while this is the main background for the books, the Genetic Revolution, it is perfectly explained and easy to understand for people that know nothing about the subject. For those, like me, that understand a little bit of genetic and DNA editing, the science of the book makes sense, it feels real, possible , and it feels like something the future will bring. It is also a field day for psychology/psychiatry majors. The endless debacle between nurture vs nature, and how one’s thoughts and actions are affected by the environment, the experiences they go through and the limits between one’s static nature and capacity to change and overcome it. It also deals with politics and religion and overall an overall belief system. How other’s decisions, that we have no input, affect our lives and the humanity in a broader spectrum. Incredible world building, fast paced, action filled, amazing characters and realistic human relationships (with oneself and others) with a dash of romance. I have never read any of the “classic” science fiction authors, and I don’t really want to read them to be honest. For me, if anyone asks, what is the must read science fiction series of the decade, the answer is pretty simple. DOUBLE HELIX.

Frustration, love, hate, anger. This box set will make you feel all of these emotions. What the different agencies and government do to people is cruel. People are labelled as humans, mutants, or vitros. And the mutants are watched and controlled by an agency. But when a secret project, using different peoples genes creates a perfect specimen called Galahad, everything changes. Galahad is kept in a laboratory for over twenty years being experimented on. When Zara is hired to break in and get a sample of his DNA everything goes wrong. A group of humans who hate mutants and Galahad, strikes the laboratory also. Zara escapes with Galahad. But when she takes Galahad to a wealthy friend named Lucien, the scope of what the laboratory did is revealed. Galahad looks like a clone of Lucien’s friend Danyeal. A mutant with strong healing abilities, and empathic abilities. Now different agencies want both Galahad and Danyeal. Can Zara and Lucien and their friends keep them safe? Loyalties will be tested. Life long friends will become enemies, and new relationships will be built. This book box set was a roller coaster of emotions. I felt so sorry for so many people. What poor Danyeal was put through was inhumane. But he doesn’t have a mean bone in his body and sees the best in everyone. Loved this box set. Thankfully happy endings for most of the main characters.

When I first saw the synopsis for Sicarius Soul. I was surprised. Here was a whole series I didn't know about and it sounded great. Amazon said I already owned several and a quick look into my reading queue and I found the earlier books. I immediately moved them to the head of the list and I was not wrong to do so. I quickly read - Miriya, then Perfection Unleashed (Double Helix #1), Perfect Betrayal (Double Helix #2), Perfect Weapon (Double Helix #3), Perfection Challenged (Double Helix #4) and then Sicarius Soul.

An incredible world Jade built with diverse interesting characters, all with a different challenge, and yet all intertwined. I definitely read way into the night on every one of these stories. The great news is that there are several more stories in this world for me to read.

If you want to get into something and be able to keep the flow going than this is one that should be started. The characters will capture you with their tale. Some of the stories will have you thinking and also scratching your head in a what if. As a empath myself I find it very captivating when a character has that also. This Genetic Revolution is some interesting reading that is for sure. Perfect human? humm only in a book maybe. The characters you follow in this captivate your attention they are that interesting this author knows how to click on the intrigue. There is also love involved intertwined so that makes it a plus. You get all aspects in this plus a bonus. You are brought to the edge several times. Refreshing from start to finish.

What an interesting and entertaining collection of books, took me out of my comfort zone. It's well paced and I was kept intrigued all the way through. Is this our scary future, it's probably already happening behind locked doors. Will humanity be lost in this story? Will it leave you thinking? Playing with genetics is a double edged sword. Brilliant series.

I read the collection in two days with a (reluctant) four-hour break for sleep. A worthy addition to the superhero/mutant genre set in a very believable near future. Thanks, Jade. It's great to find a tale that keeps one captivated as this one did.

Simply the best

Genetics will revolutionize humanity with an unknown price to pay. Will the end result be worth it? Only time will tell. Enjoy an outstanding series. I did.

Unbelievable collection of stories about Galahad. From the first one to the last, I was lost in the story. The characters and the plot were just made for each other. Loved it.

This is a phenomenal series. Zara continues to be my favourite, but I enjoy seeing more from the other characters. I would love seeing how their lives change after the ending. I just keep wanting more missions and adventures.
Fans of the X-men or other super heroes would enjoy this series.

I had purchased this particular set of books a while ago, but when I actually started to read them; I wondered what took me so long to start. The books themselves could be said to center around gentic/clone research but this is where all similarities end. Throw in a little X-men comics, X-Files, and James Bond and you would have a rough feel for the books. The characters are well defined/written, with complete as possible backstories, action is well balanced, intrigue is outstanding, and romance is even thrown in to balance out all the elements. This is a well written and thought out series.

Seriously, I had high hopes for this series but found the characters to be somewhat stereotypical and typecast. Danyael Sabre is the most powerful Empath on the planet and spends most of the series as a physical and emotional wreck. I couldn't feel sorry for him. I dunno the whole cast were mostly basket-cases in need of years of therapy. Such meanness and hatred expressed got kind of annoying after a while. Otherwise, the books were readable.

Refines humanity

This series redefines humanity in the most primal of ways. If you are only what your chromosomes build than you are nothing. True humanity comes from who you choose to love; who you choose to hate; who you choose to be.
This series explores this concept in a way never done as brilliantly.
Fun, entertaining, endearing, and heartwrenching.
