With breakthrough understanding, this book reconciles the disconnect between God's faithfulness to Christians and their unfaithfulness to Him. Scotty Smith, pastor of Christ Community Church in Franklin, Tennessee, a high-profile congregation known for its ties to the Nashville music community, challenges readers humbly and honestly to consider what it means to be stewards of God's grace -- to live a life of obedience and service in response to His wonderful love.
Scotty Smith is founding pastor of Christ Community Church (PCA) in Franklin, Tennessee. He is now teacher in residence at West End Community Church (PCA) in Nashville, a daughter church of CCC. Scotty also serves as an adjunct professor at five seminaries, including Covenant, Westminster, Redeemer, RTS Orlando, and Western Seminary in Portland. He is the author of several books, including Everyday Prayers, as well as Unveiled Hope with Michael Card and Speechless and Restoring Broken Things with Steven Curtis Chapman.
I was excited to read this book because it covers a topic that the Lord is currently teaching me in my own life. I heard Scotty for the first time as a guest on a podcast, and was captivated by the way he told his story and his experience with growing in grace. His book was incredibly thorough, but I confess I grew bored 1/3 of the way through - it just felt too long to me, and didn’t captivate me the same way hearing Scotty speak did.
