Chloe is a fifteen year old troubled by the events of the previous year when she had suffered violence and abuse from an evil gang at her school. By a cruel twist of fate her best friend is beaten up and as a result kills herself. Chloe carries the pain of the previous year but on the anniversary of her friend's death she befriends a small black cat. This leads her into a strange and frightening world where she has to help others overcome their pain so that she can overcome hers.
