Lana lives in Perth, Western Australia and loves writing Paranormal/ Fantasy and Sci-fi Romance. When she’s not writing, you’ll find her creating art and designing book covers. She also fights evil by moonlight, wins love by daylight and never runs from a real fight.
I will start by saying that I liked book 1 Envy, especially the over whole story and the world, the book itself and the protagonists were ok. This second book Greed though I loved. I had a good feeling about Griffin since his first introduction in Envy, he seemed really interesting, and I’m glad I was right. I loved seeing inside his head and how his thinking process works, he has an analytical mind, he likes structures, order and datas, and it’s really sweet how Lilo accepted and understood him, never making him feel bad or weird, especially about his sensitivity to touch. Lilo also is great, kind and capable, she had her own struggles to face considering she was recovering from an abusive relationship (that asshole Donnie). I have considerable expectations about books 3 and 4 as well, Wyatt and especially Sloan are the ones apart from Griffin that have captured me the most. Also honorable mention to Griffin who brings earplugs when forced to go to a club, I respect you and I agree. I think him, this book and this couple will remain my favorites in the series.
Greed is book two in The Deadly Seven series of superhero fantasy romances.
Griffin Lazarus is filled with the sin of Greed which he balances against crime fighting in Cardinal City, where his family live. He is sent to infiltrate the local newspaper office to find out who is behind the stories which paint the Deadly Seven in bad light.
Lilo Likeke is the daughter of a mafia mobster, but she has left the family and is determined to get her big break news report. Generous and loving, Lilo is the opposite of Griffin, but he soon finds that he needs her to put much needed balance in his life. So when Lilo’s father is kidnapped and Lilo is put in danger, Griffin is drawn to protect her.
This is the first book that I have read in this series. It had echoes of Clarke Kent and Lois Lane mixed with several other comic book superhero traits. It didn’t appeal to me as much as I had hoped; I wanted to see more emotion from Griffin. The storyline fitted the superhero theme but I think that there are more books out there which will better suit my reading preferences.
Greed is a sin of greedy people. But not only. I believe this certain sin belongs to everyone and it does not have to have money in thoughts. It could be attention, materialistic things, love...books. I have to admit I am a greedy person and it was intriguing to see the author's intake on this subject.
This cross super heroes and Gotham City sequel has been an interesting challenge. I was hooked on Griffin's need to be perfect in book no 1 so I absolutely loved reading his story as my next one... I was not disappointed!
Massive bravo to the author as she quickly climbs the ladder of my favourite writers. I am only saddened that not so many people have discovered her yet.
Yep, I called it. I enjoyed this book way more than the first, and it totally lived up to its potential.
I adored Griffin! I love how Lilo handled his touch sensitivity, and I loved the glimpses inside his mind of how he organized things and dealt with his need to have everything in balance. They were such a cute couple all around.
I just want to give big squishy hugs to Griffin and Lilo! The journey to love wasn’t easy, but they’re just a super adorbs couple! Especially once Griffin pulls his head from you know where...
I am really enjoying the Deadly Seven series! What is so appealing about the series-besides the fast-pace and romantic elements-is the balancing act Pecherczyk maintains with all the balls she’s juggling. From introducing and keeping the Lazarus family in the mix, focusing on whichever main couple’s relationship the story is about or revealing another layer to the Syndicate’s twisted plot, there’s something constantly happening and keeps me engaged and invested in the final outcome!
The only reason for the 4.5 instead of 5 was it took me a while to warm up to Lilo, the heroine. But I did so all is good.
This is Griffin and Lilo’s story and the third book in the series and yes they need to be read in order. It’s about a group of superheroes created in a test tube and raised in a laboratory during their childhood. But now they are young adults and each comes into their full power when they meet their mate, their other half that will both enhance and ground them.
Greed is Griffin’s “sin”. He recognizes it in others and if he isn’t careful and balanced can be overcome by it. He and his siblings seek out the “Syndicate”, the evil and crazy group that created them. Their focus is to remove sin from humans even if it means killing everyone. Before they can do this, they must find and destroy ‘the Deadly Seven’. Each book the purpose of good and evil becomes clearer.
Griffin is the geek, the nerd of the group. He doesn’t buy into this mate thing even though Evan (Envy) found his mate in the previous book. Instead, Griffin believes that keeping himself ‘balanced’ is the key. He figured this out through a series of experiments. For every good things he does for humanity, he has to take some token of greed. I got an immense kick out of the fact he’s basically a superhero hoarder that’s keeping this small quirk from his family.
Of course his whole theory is blown to smithereens when he meets his mate Lilo. We first met her in the previous book. She’s an investigative reporter and best friends with Grace, Evan’s mate. This book is fun, action packed and very hard to put down. And I love it. I kind of picture Griffin as a Clark Kent kind of guy and Lilo as a Lois Lane. I’m really enjoying this series and though I’ve never been into the whole Marvel movies, I’ve only ever seen two of them, this written series is fast becoming my jam.
*Super-heroes *Seven Deadly Sins *Greed *FMC born in a mafia family, but fights against the crime with her writing I love superhero thematic (and I wish more books like that). Here we have Griffin’s story- who is capable of feeling Greed in people- and who always tried to control himself and everything around him in an effort to keep balanced. Until Lilo. Lilo is a criminal journalist who always tried to find out who the Deadly Sevens were. Eventually, both of them met at work and here our story begins. On one side, Lilo finds herself in the middle of an imposter of the Seven and a criminal business, on other side, Griffin tries to manage the criminals and his new mate Lilo. I confess that until 60% of the book I couldn't see a way out: Griffin is too stubborn and didn’t let go of his control. At the same time, Lilo always compares every man with Donnie. But, slowly, both of them were capable of trusting each other. Obviously, I loved this book, and am excited to read more about Sloane.
Greed is the second book in the Deadly Seven series and features Griffin Lazarus, a data analyst(who can detect the sin Greed) and Lilo Likeke, a reporter at Cardinal Copy and Grace's best friend(Grace is the protagonist of the previous book Envy). It's not completely necessary to read this series in order as each book can be read as a standalone, since each one features different couples. But I would definitely recommend reading all the books in the series, to get a better idea of the world and the different characters present. You'll definitely fall in love with this series the way I did!
The series features seven siblings who were genetically engineered in a lab and have the ability to sense the levels of their respective sins in other people around them. When they meet their other halves, they are able to find their balance and also develop new abilities. But there is an organisation which wishes to use these powers for their own agenda, and is seeking to create more such soldiers with these abilities. So the Lazarus family has become a target for their various schemes.
This book was a fun read as I was waiting to see how the uptight Griffin would fall in love! He is so meticulous about maintaining the balance pertaining to his sin-Greed, that he literally plans his activities and actions around this. But he has a serious reason for doing so. An incident in the past has affected him greatly, and even his family doesn't know much about what happened to him. Lilo is the complete opposite of him. She is bubbly, driven to report the truth and has little to no filter(I loved the first meeting between Lilo and Griffin, it was so hilarious!). Her past relationships have left her scarred and she has some issues with people deciding things for her, but she is an amazing and loyal friend.
I loved watching Lilo and Griffin interact with each other! The chemistry between them was off the charts from the get-go! The Lazarus family was a favourite as always. I really love Mary and Flint, since they are amazing parents to the siblings! They just know how to be there for their kids when needed.
"Okay. Good." He cleared his throat again and avoided Griffin's gaze. "Because, you know, I'm here if you need to talk. About anything, Girl stuff, you know. I mean, I was your age once" Griffin stifled a smile. "I know." XD
And I really hated Donnie! He is a grade-A asshole and I hated what he had done to Lilo, and how he still kept trying to control her!
All the characters in this series are well fleshed out(even the antagonists). They all have their own pasts and desires that motivate them. The plot moved quickly and I finished the book in one sitting. I'm really excited for the rest of the books in the series and I can't wait to see where the author takes the story and the characters!
P.S. I think the next book is Wyatt's and I'm very curious to know in which direction his story will go.

📖 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: Griffin was experimented on as a child, and now him and his siblings form the Deadly Seven - vigilantes with senses heightened to fight the seven deadly sins. As Greed, Griffin is always searching for balance. So he's created a meticulous regimine and has let that regimine overrule his life... that is, until he meets Lilo.
🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: I liked the first book, Envy, so I made my way to the second. The storyline and the plot and the characters are so unique, it's hard to look a gift horse in the mouth.
Beneath it all, the writing isn't incredible. There is some corny dialogue. Some moments I rolled my eyes at. But bottom line, there isn't anything like this out there and I'm enthralled. I'm keeping it close to my chest like a little guilty pleasure for now.
I didn't love Grif and Lilo as much as I loved the couple from Envy. But they were sweet and the book read like an Avengers movie.
Griffin Lazarus know I s his life according to a regimented schedule. When is brother Parker forces him to change that schedule he’s trust into the world of Lilo Likeke. Can she help him overcome his past and thrive in the chaos of his life?
So many things happened in this story that I found myself anticipating the next story before I finished. Griffin has some sensory processing issues that make life difficult and the author was able to highlight those without being too extreme or oversimplifying what he deals with.
Matching Griffin with someone as overzealous and giving as Lilo made for a fun match. She brought love and laughter to his life that he was missing.
I’m really intrigued by Falcon. I’ve got my theories and n who she is and won’t share that here but hope they are right. Every tot it of information about the syndicate has me trying to piece the puzzle together. I’m glad that Wyatt has the next story because he deserves real happiness.

Type: Urban Romantasy Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice:🌶️🌶️🌶️ Speed of Burn: 🔥🔥 Character Arcs: 🤪🥹😟 Darkness:⛅️⛅️⛅️ POV: 👫🏻 Multiple Tropes: Strangers to Colleagues to Almost lovers/ crush on the masked hero/ Hero’s Journey/ Series: #3 of at least 9
Synopsis: Griffin is so tightly controlled and regimented in order to keep his particular sin signature, Greed, from taking over his life. Every action must be balanced. In order to keep his tattoo balanced, he must commit an evil act to go along with his good deeds. That is, until he meets Lilo. She balances him with just her touch. A touch Griff can't stand because he can't stand touching, smells, fabrics...noises... When an imposter Greed starts showing up with a gun to cast judgement on criminals, Griff and the rest of the Deadly Se7ev have to decide how to proceed. The last thing they need is Lilo, an investigative journalist, making decisions that include writing articles about this new Greed and they need to figure out who he is and how to stop him. But Lilo is not so easily swayed on this "new side of Greed" because. Armed with her investigation skills and a mouth that doesn't stop moving, Lilo will have to navigate her criminal family background, the Greed imposter that seems to have an affinity for her, and the hot new auditor that is evaluating their work at the newspaper.
Review: Loved. It. Griffin is def Autistic. I don't understand why he isn't named as autistic in the book, but as someone with Autism, I can tell and he certainly has a touch of the 'tism. I wasn't expecting it because it didn't talk anywhere about it in conjunction with the book series so as I saw the signs happening I was screaming. I have never read a book that gets my tics. It was great. I thought I liked Evan...now I am 100% team Griff. Like....can I have one? Can Lana literally just bake me a partner? Cause there is not a single book she has written where that MMC hasn't been my immediate book boyfriend. I liked Lilo too. She says the first thing that pops into her head and it's so heart wrenchingly beautiful that she understands that she needs to be patient and wait for griff to acclimate. I may seriously read it again. I like to leave highlights and quotes on Goodreads and I think I seriously got so wrapped up that I didn't even realize I had stopped doing adding the highlighted notes. It's so good. Just so very good.l
Similar Vibes: Heroes (Tv show) because of the superpowers. A little Superman-esque because of the working at the newspaper together. And the secret identity. And the glasses. Slight mafia romance vibes cause of her family but really this could have been left out and the story would have been fine
"Being in the same room as you, and breathing the same air, affects me. Touching you...sends my inside into chaos."
Everyone knows the Lazarus family. Some of them are even famous. But the people ignore that they're also the vigilantes that are called after each of the seven deadly sins. Griffin Lazarus can sense greed. Thanks to the magical powers he was born with. Each siblings will develop other abilities the moment they meet The One. For Griff, it happened the first time he lay eyes on Lilo Likeke, an investigative reporter who's trying to discover who are the Deadly Seven and what's their motives? But for a man like him, who always keep a tight grip on his control, she's a distraction he doesn't need. But when his family send him at Cardinal Copy Newsroom to run interference and collect information, he's going to have to work close to the young woman and try to leash the strong attraction he feels for her.
How will I know what you like?" she mumbled. "I don't want to hurt you either." "You're what I like."
One of the greatest thing about the series (except for the fact we have a sweet and sexy romance with each book) is the ribbing between the siblings. I was surprised that some things were left unsaid about the hero's past at the end and wonder if we'll learn more or it was intended like that. I can't wait to see what's in store for the others Lazarus and what the vilains have plan next.
I wasn't ready for this book and all the trauma, the fear, the obsession. Griffin is such a tortured character, it's possible to have a grasp of his situation in the previous book but nothing to truly see the dimension of it.
Griffin's years of training affected him at the deepest level, he's obsessed with his tattoo and maintaining the perfect balance of sin in his body, he's always calculating, doing statistics, controlling himself, his reactions, his actions to ensure the perfect balance - however, all of this crumbled up with his meeting with Lilo. Forced to work with her while investigating who portrays wrong information about the Deadly Seven, Griffin will have to get used to having his balance ruined and accept the effect his mate has on him and all the good she can bring him.
Lilo is an investigative journalist who decided to research Cardinal City's famous vigilantes / now heroes, altruist, smart she's a great journalist who tries to survive in men's world while recovering from her toxin relationship with her colleague who steels all the best stories each time he can. After a first disastrous meeting with Griffin, Lilo realizes that she cannot stop thinking about him, wanting to know more about him. But between the new Syndicates' schemes and her past, Griffin and Lilo will have to face many hardships to be together.
I loved that book, Greed is so tortured, it was sad but I love how Lilo counterbalanced him and give him all the happiness he needs in his life. All these brothers and sisters are so amazing, this whole series is just something exceptional to read !!
Another book, another deadly sin. This time it's Griffin and his sin is greed. He doesn't believe the mate concept is the solution to their problems. He's got his own method to keep his sin balanced. Lilo, the reporter who appeared in "Envy" as Grace's best friend with the relationship problems, is now front and center. She is also Team Deadly Sin and in particular the one covered in blue and goes by the name Greed. What I love about this series is that there are levels to the story. The main story is about the deadly seven and everything pertaining to them, but we get to watch the relationship build with Lilo and Griffin. There's more focus on the relationship that was discussed in the previous book between Lilo and Grace and Lilo and her ex and paints a picture as to why SHE is in fact the perfect match for the Envy sin. It seems that so far, each book has what I've deemed as a "mini" antagonist and the "major" antagonist. The major antagonist I believe will be present throughout the series, so I'm anxious to see where that part of the story goes and who's actually behind all of the mayhem. The mini antagonist for this book, for me, was actually really predictable but I really enjoyed where LP went with that story. So far I really love this series and I'm anxious to jump into the next book "Wrath".
Definitely finding this book series hard to get through. Honestly, I absolutely love the concept of the characters. The only problem that I am having is that the books are too long. I feel that there should be like only half the number of chapters to keep the audience interested. I like that the sins have fated mates and that they have to work at keeping from giving into their sin but i feel that some of the chapters are fillers that the author gave us. Did that mean that i enjoyed the books any less, No but I some of the info dump is unnecessary.
With Greed specifically I felt as though we didn't really get the best grasp on why his character hated touch or was overly sensitive to touch, Like I put the pieces together but felt as though, I could have been given more of a back story. I loved Lilo Likeke and how she wasn't really a damsel in destress and was a great female main character. I did somehow feel there was not enough moments of them interacting with dialogue, and that most of their thoughts were shared instead, normally I would enjoy that type of writing, but I just wanted a deeper interaction between them.
I almost did DNF the book, but it did get better around like 50% so that was its saving grace, I would say that if you keep at it the books are great, just a bit long, give it a chance. Mostly a decent series and a fun read. would give it a 3.5 rounded down to 3/5 stars.
Greed/Griffin Lazarus, the one who seems most in control over his sin's balance of power in him but only because of the heavy physical and psychological trauma he suffered during his exiled years of training. Having lost complete control over his restraint, he has sworn never to allow it again.
Lilo Likeke's familial history of greed for money and power caused her to cut herself off from them. Now a hardworking reporter, she also live a life of charity, constantly giving to those in need, even if it's literally the coat off her back.
In a twist that has Griffin and Lilo working together, her selfless giving and chaos turns Griffin's world upside down. Trying to find out who is responsible for the slanderous lies that are behind the media's stories, shines more light on what the Syndicate was doing while also bringing up more questions as to what they're trying to achieve. New advancements that could possibly destroy the Deadly Seven while they are trying to get organized again, and search for the mates that will help them control their sins and release their hidden powers.
Well written subject matter on the abuse that led to Griffin's sensitivity and touch aversion and how Lilo works with him in a patient and loving manner.
Okay, book 2! I am really enjoying this Deadly Seven world. There is a lot more focus on the 2 main characters in this book and less world building, which is fine because we have enough world to work with from book 1. Griffin/Greed is almost a polar opposite of his brother Evan/Envy. Griff is totally analytical in all aspects of his life. His whole life and daily routine revolves around his tight control. His past is eluded to throughout the book and we get snipits which is done really well. I love to slowly learn someone's story. We meet Lilo in book one being Grace's reporter bestie. You would think a vigilante with a secret would never work out with a headstrong reporter who has a deep desire for the truth but as the story reads on they just fit so perfectly. These two did not mesh together immediately like the two in book one did which made for some great conflict and sexual tension. For the spicy readers this one is a 2/5 again. We get a little spice but for the most part it is mostly the tension we are reading.
Let me just say I’m absolutely in love with this series so far! The plot is incredibly unique and refreshing..the storyline is smooth and ever flowing and every character gets their time in the spotlight. I don’t think I can find any other book that can compare with this unique series.
All in all, the 3rd book in the series was great. I loved the blossoming chemistry between the two main characters and how highlighted their flaws were. I felt like Lilo & Griffin were truly made for each other outside of being fated mates.
My main ick was there were some parts of the writing style where I just wasn’t a fan. It just seemed—flat? And while it wasn’t a major ick that would make me throw the book against the wall, it’s noticeable and was a bit distracting in the wrong way. Essentially, the flatter areas stick out like a sore thumb.
Overall, I truly enjoyed this book and cannot wait to see what the rest of the series has in store.
Ms. Pecherczyk gets both romance and supers - and has made an excellent addition to the Superhero Romance Genre with her The Deadly Seven series.
The world concept is seven brothers and sisters were genetically engineered to hunt down sin and destroy it. They were stolen and raised to be heroes instead of killers, but the base nature remains. If they don't fight it - seek it out and remove it - the sin will consume them entirely. If they do too much good, they also will unbalance.
Greed has experienced directly - the unbalancing - waking with too much blood on his hands. Now he is obsessed with being balanced. For every good act, he does an evil. Then he meets the woman who is the opposite of Greed - who gives everything she has. Can she help him find a healthy balance; can he teach her to be be greedy for one thing --- him?
Oh, and another superhero standby, the two meet in a newpaper office. She is a reporter. Superhero tingles all the way!
I am really enjoying this series so far and book two was a definite step up from book one imo. There was better flow, a more engaging romance, and the author’s writing is getting stronger.
For me, I felt like Lilo was a smidge on the boring side especially compared to Griffin. Her selflessness and giving nature was at times, a little insufferable. It bordered more on being a doormat than being a beacon of generosity. I love her background and reasoning for being so selfless and wish we could have had just a tad more plot involving that.
Griffin is a compelling mmc and I loved his pov. The trauma he went through and the impact it’s had on his life was well done. I will say though, the final battle was a bit anticlimactic for me. I wanted a bit more of and internal struggle from him but it just kind of wrapped up pretty easily.
Overall, I enjoyed the book and can’t wait to continue with this series!
Listen...this is usually how any series goes for me. The first two books are pretty solid and I love both couples. I might like this one a little more, but that is just cause I like a little bit of groveling. (Also can I just say it is so sad that Pride basically gets the last book which means he doesn't meet his soulmate until then. I actually feel for him because he seems so fricken excited to meet them... ;-; I am excited for Gluttony the most because it feels like he has the most growth to make in comparison to everyone else) Also if ya'll like this book series, I recommend Project Arma (there are like 3 series connected to one another with like 16? books currently...I actually stopped when it was at like 12? or 14? cause I wanted to wait until the series finished) or there is a less superstrength/paranormal sort of book series called Knight security (like 6? currently which I am currently holding off on reading the most recent book because I like to read things in one go and I'd hate to have to try and reread in order finish)
Another fabulous novel by Lana Pevherczyk! This is the second novel in the Seven Deadly Sin series and I enjoyed Griffin and Lilo's story more than the first with Evan and Grace. That's exciting because it means it has the potential to keep getting better!
What I liked
- While Lilo hasn't always had the ability to showher inner strength in her relationships, she came across as a strong character. I liked her character development.
- Likewise from the last novel I didn't think I'd like Griffin overmuch. He still did a couple of stupid things in this novel, but he was no longer the cold, removed character from the first.
Areas for Improvement
- The story does lag a little in places, stick with it guys! It's worth it.
If you're looking to try a new author and you love hot and capable fictional men, give the series a go!
Greed or Griffin needs order to the chaos. He has a set plan to keep his greed balanced. Until he meets Lilo and then all the greed quiets and his tattoo stays balanced. Lilo works for the paper and wants to balance out the good in the city from being the daughter of a mafia boss. These two are perfect for each other. The ying to the yang. She knows how to help Griffin with his aversion to touch. The way the complete each other is beautiful. The way he wants to keep her safe shows just how much he loves her. This series is full of action and intense moments where you're bouncing around rooting for the superheros to save the city again. Batman has nothing on these guys!
Gah. Lana Pecherczyk does it again. I read her Fae Guardians series and she managed to make each amazing book somehow better than the last. And the genius does it again. Greed was wonderful. Sweet. Sensitive. Broken. The love of Griff and Lilo felt natural. Inevitable. I feel the story was well thought out in reference to overcoming his sensitivities with Lilo. Having a partner willing to be patient and thoughtful and understanding to certain aversions was a refreshing read. I especially loved reading Griffs POV. His inner turmoil. His fight for balance. The scale of greed vs generosity. Not to mention that little toss in of Wyatt (Wrath) that just breaks your heart.
I’m again hooked. Excited and nervous to read Wrath next.
X- Men plus fated mates, how could I pass this up?
Greed is a complete control freak, focused completely on balance. He does not want to accidentally turn "evil" so he is in constant control of his whole life. Lilo is a reporter that is used to being controlled, she was in a toxic mafia family and a toxic relationship. Complete opposites that would be fated mates.
The downfall for this book was honestly the groveling. Greed (Griffin) truly hurt Lilo and put her in a dangerous situation. He made her feel as if she was being hurt similar to her previous relationship. His "groveling" was there, but it just wasn't much. She basically forgave him completely when he gave her his sad past history.
Griffin (aka Greed) was a broken man that needed his soulmate to find his true balance. He was so on edge all the time and he actually left his brother Evan (Envy) during a mission so his balance didn’t tip the wrong way. Wtf Griff?!
Lilo is his perfect person. She grew up with a family focused on greed and wealth, but left and gave all of herself to others.
While these books are fated mates, they are definitely slow burns. They are focused on the over arching storyline while also giving each sibling their own HEA. They focus on character development with a few sexy scenes thrown in.
These books are fantastic and remind me of superhero movies. I look forward to the next book that features Wrath!!
Griffin Lazarus (Greed) has a deadly secret, one his family knows nothing about. But more than the secret might be unleashed if he’s pressed past his limits. Lilo Likeke is a reporter with a mission—to discover the true identities of the Deadly Seven, but her discoveries may cost her more than just a story, it might cost their lives.
More deliciousness for Ms Pecherczyk. The action scenes in this are brilliant. I think I got a workout just from reading them, and I love how the story unfolded, especially Lilo’s quest to take her inner power back. And now I know why everyone’s saying how ‘hot’ this story is. Phew! Loved it.
