Master C.K. Chu's classic title on tai chi is back in print in a new and improved third edition. The paperback has a new cover design, a detailed index for the first time, and an additional introduction. This book features original tai chi classic texts including The Tai Chi Treatise (a must-read for all tai chi practitioners) and a famous Question & Answer dialogue with Chen Wei-Ming, along with interpretations by famous 19th and 20th century masters and, of course, Master Chu's commentary. Here's an excerpt from Master Chu's new "Introduction to the Revised Third Edition" (Jan., 2006): "Looking back I see how the tai chi classics are more relevant than ever. In the 1970s few people had heard of tai chi here in America. Now we have the opposite problem. It's almost as if there's too much tai chi.... The authentic meaning, once available only through a few rare sources, now threatens to be lost in a mountain of information.... For this reason I say consult these [classic] texts at all time."
C. K. Chu is an amazing Tai Chi master and this is a book of fundamental information. Its one of the things that my teacher tests us on for our Black Sash test, so I am rereading it right now. I will return to it over the years--the things that seemed interesting three years ago are now much clearer as my understanding of Tai Chi has grown.
