Erin Hunter is inspired by a love of cats and a fascination with the ferocity of the natural world. As well as having a great respect for nature in all its forms, Erin enjoys creating rich mythical explanations for animal behavior, shaped by her interest in astronomy and standing stones.
Quick and easy read. Lots of small mistakes throughout the series, but that is to expect with quick releases. I read these books in Norwegian, so I suppose there were even more mistakes than in the original language. Definitively childrens books, but engaging enough for a grownup as well. Plowed through the whole series in a couple of months.
Overall I really enjoyed this arc. I wish there had been more focus on the development of the warrior code and star clan than there was. I also think it would have been nice to spend some more time in the mountains before beginning the journey, to explore truly the relationship dynamics and personalities that were there before the tribe split up.

Gray Wing is one of the best W.C. characters ive seen. Hes so fucking complex and inspiring. He goes through the most interesting shit aswell. 10 outta ten, love this series
I’ve been an avid reader of WC for years, since a child, and I often come back to reread the books to pick up on any lost features that a younger me would’ve missed.
Often, the Warriors books don’t have much re-readability, but to me DoTC contains so much more than its surface; knowing the end result of this series doesn’t mean that the interim is spoiled, and infact any WC fan knows how DoTC ends.
But the story that is told before and between that period is one of peril, loss and absolute heartbreak. This series in particular focuses on the arduous lifestyle these characters face, and gives excellent rise as to why in the future, there are certain rules to life. The events shown in these books allow perfectly a reader to empathise and relate to the fear of loss, and sympathise with even the most cruel of characters.
Of course, any Warriors book is not complete without it’s villain, and let me tell you that the foe in these books is often life itself. That, added with the detailed character development, makes for an entertaining and captivating storyline with true feelings of sorrow and woe for the characters that you grow to love.
And the end. Boy! It’s unlike any other Warrior’s book: if you like WC’s but are sick of the same old rhetoric, DoTC’s is a definite must-read, and it may just reignite some of that passion for this old, childhood series.

I felt like the last book was more dramatic then I'm used to. Also, I thought the clans were going to be named by the leaders themselves or even Star Clan. It was nice that it was Gray Wing & the kits that named them all. I was so happy to see Gray Wing also have kits of his own & have a mate. I was very sad to see him pass on but hope I get to see him more in Star Clan in future books. I also thought I'd get to learn of Thunder's kits but I guess that is in other books.

This was so amazing! I'm such a WC fan!! I totally DID NOT think that Star Flower was One Eye's daughter! I thought maybe she was a spirit cat in disguise! Way to go Erin Hunter!

I have to admit that after reading Omen of the Stars and part of this series, I kind of thought I had outgrown them. After a few years, I decided to "go back down that rabbit hole" as I like to say, and I do NOT regret it! I absolutely loved seeing how the Clans came to be.
