Rate this book
Sandy Sumner is a sheriff with a secret.

She's the law in Kasselville, a small town in the fairytale lands, but on nights when she gets the urge to run, Sandy shape-shifts into a predator. Her identity poses a threat when Cordelia Bauerstein, a little old lady who ran a pig farm with her brother on the outskirts of town, is found clawed to death on her kitchen floor.

Sandy has 24 hours to find a solid lead or risk losing the case. When the prime suspect, a vagrant wolf who has crossed paths with the victim, comes willingly to the sheriff's office to offer information, the investigation takes an unexpected twist.

What comes to the surface are lies, extortion, and suspects who are not at all what they seem, least of all Sandy and her sidekick Rey. Sandy has kept her secret hidden from everyone, but can she hope to fool a wolf? Follow Sandy’s journey to find out if this shapeshifter can catch the murderer before she and her friend find themselves on the suspect list.

Meet Sandy Sumner, the shapeshifting sheriff of Kasselville, a small town in the fairytale lands. The Good Wolf is the debut title in the Sheriff Sandy Sumner mystery series.

If you like flawed but determined characters, intriguing puzzles, and dramatic twists, then you’ll love Tallulah Moore’s wicked whodunit.

This isn’t a full story. It leaves you with a massive cliffhanger.

IS Frederick the wolf a good wolf or a killer wolf?

Trust you will want to keep reading. Like several comic books and episodic series it’s set in or near the fairytales you know.

Well done, author! Great characters and backstory. I’ll gratefully keep reading.

Overview: Sandy Sumner is the sheriff of the fairytale lands, in the small town that's named Kasselville. Now she has an actual murder to solve. Cordelia Bauerstein was one of the two owners of a pig farm. The only people (of a sort) around are the victim's brother, Donald, and a transient wolf, Frederick. Who wanted Cordelia dead? Did Frederick kill her? And what happened to the pigs? Let's find out.

Dislikes: This would be the beaver hybrid, and his raven cohorts. What these individuals did was theft, and worse than theft, if you think about it.

Likes: Sandy did her best to follow the clues.

Frederick had a good heart.

Conclusion: This was a fun little story. If you like cozy fantasies and cozy mysteries, then this book is for you. Enjoy the read.

Sheriff Sandy meets a wolf who tells her lots of strange things. Including a plan to catch a pig thief, but the plan goes wrong an a lady gets murdered. There are some strange characters in this fairytale land but Sandy does eventually solve the case.

I absolutely loved this novella. The characters are outstanding, starting with the shape-shifting sheriff, the wandering wolf who gave off vibes of the English actor David Niven, and the victim, a pig farmer—loads of humor and unexpected twists and turns. I highly recommend.
