As a HUGE DX fan I was really excited to read this. There wasn't one piece of information that was new or exciting to me. Everything has been told somewhere else and just packed into this book.

There were a few lines that I would honestly believe Shawn and HHH said but beyond that it just seemed this book was a repeat of previous information. Also this book tended to be on a loop and a bit unclear about events and such. It jumped around so much it was hard to keep track of anything. The last part of DX was just a complete blur in this book. The first time DX was invented it was explained but as the book went on the writing got weaker and weaker.

This was a quick paced and fun book to read. If you are or were a wrestling fan during that time this is a good read for you. I loved how it gave a behind the scenes experience to some of my favorite matches such as McMahon Vs Helmsley at Armageddon. Packed with humor and just all around fun to read.

An interesting, very short little read from the founders of D-Generation X on the group's inception and history up until 2009. If you're looking for juicy backstage info or road stories, try HBK's solo efforts - this is good, but very cookie cutter and strictly discusses the many feuds and group history of the faction itself. The book is separated into three acts for each era of DX (Michaels-led era, Hunter-led era, and the 2006 reunion era) and features fun facts at the end of most chapters and trivia in the back of the book. This didn't particularly tell me anything I didn't already know, but as of 2023 it's probably the closest we have to a Triple H autobiography and is decent if you're looking for a short wrestling biography. Now I've got two words for ya...three stars!

Very funny insite into the word of WWE from the views of shawn micheals and triple h, you do really get the feeling that your siting in the room with them as this book rather then a look back on their careers focus on them striking up conversations with each other throughout the book, one thing for any old school wwe fan is that it's a big shame wwe went PG as the books are now aimed at teenagers and kids compared to the previous books which were packed full of stories for adults and filtered with swear words and saucy stories.

It’s a different book overall. There is enough inside scoop to learn a few things. Dx kept me entertained and it wasn’t a hard book to make time for. Worth checking out if you were a 90’s/early 2000’s fan.

Written as a conversation, it flows perfectly, and you can almost hear Hunter and Shawn's voices. As a wrestling fan, it was lovely to delve into their lives and learn more about their stories and the shenanigans.

I grew up on the Attitude Era when everything in wrestling was loud, reckles, and impossible to look away from - just like DX. I was never a huge DX fan myself: Road Dogg was corny, Billy Gunn looked good flexing but didn't do much for the promos. Triple H and Shawn Michaels, though? They were the real reason to tune in, and the reasl reason I picked this book up.

It's an ok childish read - exactly what DX was going for - with enough backstage gossip to keep it interesting. I just wish Shawn Michaels would be honest about Sunny; now that would make for a juicy novel. Not the best wrestling book ever written, but a decent way to burn a few hours if you want to relive the crotch chops and chaos for a bit more.

Ich muss mich mal outen: Ich bin seit über 20 Jahren begeisterter Wrestling Fan und verschlinge jede Wrestlingshow, DVD und Biographie. "The Unauthorized History of DX" ist jedoch eine kleine Enttäuschung gewesen. Normalerweise mag ich die DX (auch Degeneration X genannt), ein Stable, das über mehrere Jahre Teil der WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) war. Bei der DX waren u.a. namenhafte Wrestler wie Sean Waltman, Road Dogg, Triple H, Chyna und Shawn Michaels. Allerdings habe ich in diesem Buch kaum etwas Neues über die Mitglieder und die Geschichte des Stables erfahren. Vielmehr war es beinahe schon eine Aneinanderreihung von Fakten, die kaum ein Mensch braucht. Sehr schade, denn normalerweise sind die Bücher über Wrestler, Stables und Ligen extrem gut. Auf dieses Buch hätte ich allerdings verzichten können. Wirklich empfehlenswert ist "The Unauthorized History of DX" allerhöchstens für Neueinsteiger, die die DX nicht live erlebt haben.

ARE YOU READY?

The moment you hear those words, you know you're in for some fun because DX is coming. A word of warning though, if you're not a wrestling or DX fan you probably won't like this book.

I've been a fan of the WWE back when it was still known as the WWF. I would watch it when I was 3 or 4 years old with my dad. I stopped watching it for a couple of years after Dad died but I started watching it right at the height of the McMahon-Helmsley Era (wrestling fans should know what I'm talking about) so I've been a fan of HHH & DX for a while now. I've recently become a fan of Shawn Michaels, mostly from watching old wrestling DVD's.

OK, basically, if you're a fan of DX, then you should probably like this book. It's like reading a long interview with HHH & Shawn Michaels - the founding members of D-Generation X

this book was so amazing.I learned the backside of a multi-million dollar company that had two big stars,that changed the face of professional wrestling from early 1996 to 2010 this is a book that defines friendship,a company....oh and male cheerleaders.From a personal standpoint d-generation x was and still is the most powerful force in the world of wrestling[both companies total nonstop action,tna&world wrestling entertainment,wwe:]although shawn michaels & hunter hearst helmsey have had their differences in the past,they have always come together one more time...for the sake of the world of world wrestling entertainment.DX is my favorite wrestling tag team of the 21th century!!!!!!!DX NOW AND DX FOREVER.

As a huge WWE fan i bought this for Christmas and was very interested in what it would say. Shawn and Hunter wrote it and considering they both already have autobiographies written and published this book would have to be something different. Well it was different but not necessarily in a good way. The book is quite short. Although there are 246 pages these include a quiz, the history of DX through dates and some pages with just the DX logo on them and nothing else. There are also many full-page pictures and pages with DX facts, which are interesting but take up a full page and some of them are only a line or two.

I am a wrestling fan, specifically Shawn Michaels, and I always enjoyed watching the antics of DX, or Degeneration X the pairing of Shawn Michaels and HHH. This was a quick read. A nice look back at the timeline and history of DX. There were a lot of things I had forgotten about and some things I didn't know about. If you are not a fan, you probably won't enjoy it. It is a funny book though, but you really need to "get" their sense of humor to really like the book. Picked this one up via paperbackswap.co so I will make it available there for someone else to read.

This was about as good as I expected. Shawn and Hunter's humor wore thin about 50 pages into the book. And I really didn't care for their excuses when it came to some of the controversial things they did in 97/98. Also making fun of "Wrestling purists" seemed like an idiotic idea, and I was even a bit offended by that. The two came across as a couple of immature teens who's parent rarely said no to them. They Swerve in and out of fact and fiction. Making it more annoying than informational. Unless You're A huge dx fan, Skip this.
