Two years ago, Madison would have never considered a week at the beach with her classmates. But she’s got a boyfriend now, and if she wants to hide her secret from Carter, she’ll need to at least pretend to be a normal teenager. Because Madison Stone is a werewolf.
Carter might not know everything, but he knows she’s not as excited about the trip as he is. So, when they’re asked to house sit a cabin on the quiet ski resort of Chibouwood instead, he agrees. Although, her best friend - and former crush – tagging along wasn’t exactly what he’d imagined.
Still, it’s the perfect opportunity to clear the air. But once they arrive, thoughts of reconciliation are the furthest thing from everyone’s mind.
People are disappearing in the forest surrounding Chibouwood, and Madison can’t shake one paralysing thought – they’re being hunted. And she’s next.
E.M. Taylor is an author of young adult supernatural books. Growing up, she devoured all things otherworldly, from Harry Potter to Mona the Vampire, and would rush home from school to watch Sabrina the Teenage Witch, wishing she too could be blessed with magical powers.
Reading fulfilled that wish. Whether it was running with the werewolf pack in Kelley Armstrong’s Bitten, or moving into the Glass House in Rachel Caine’s The Morganville Vampires, books offered an escape from reality, and a world of adventure, inspiring Taylor to pick up the pen herself.
Aside from writing, she works in pensions administration, and spends her free time playing video games or attending conventions… but mostly watching Julie and the Phantoms or The Hunger Games on repeat. She lives in Hartlepool with her husband and their goldfish. Discovered is her first novel.
I really enjoyed the first book in this series, but E.M. Taylor truly delivers here. Fantastically written and constantly engaging, this was a book that had me thinking about it even when I wasn't actively reading. I definitely hope we get more in this series
Reading this book was an adventure! Twists and turns! I was in a tornado of different emotions. Honestly I myself was investigating before finishing a chapter because I wanted to get out my theories before reading if I was right or wrong. This book really put me through it and I highly recommend reading it if you've read the first book Discovered already. This book series truly deserves to be in the library and sold in stores! The beginning and ending will keep your mind wondering and thinking until you can't anymore. I just finished it and I'm still thinking about how everything went down! PLEASE read Discovered and Prey. YOU'LL LOVE THIS SERIES! If I could give it more than 5 stars I would because 5 just isn't enough!
I picked up.this book on Amazon on Halloween just one day after finishing Discovered and dove right in that night and boy am I glad I did. Once again I was hooked from the beginning as soon as I started reading it straight through to the very end. Once again I felt myself feeling everything right along with Maddie. I thought the d first half was intense but the second half was twice as intense. Everything from Maddie still blaming herself for Ryan's death as well as everything else that has gone wrong in her life within the course of the two books had me really feeling deeply for her. Oddly I even felt myself feeling for Ansel,Jamie and Colton which I'll admit was not something I thought would happen when they first arrived at Henry's Uncle Sean's cabin to watch it while he was away and found Ansel and his buddies were inside after getting lost and unable to find their way back to the cabin they had rented for their own spring break but by the time they said Colton was missing I really found myself wishing the best for the three of them. To say this book was a wild ride is probably an understatement but it's the best way I can think of to describe it. When Maddie Carter find the torn apart remains of the girl she was speaking to at the party they were invited to by ghevwaiteess girl from the cafe they went to Jen then when she became trapped in the cave with Ansel and Carter and she sent Carter for help only to find her way out in wolf form through small spaces and came across the rest of the dead girls body and the human bones then the abandoned campsite in the cave with the notebook in the two backpacks Wow thought Henry was in trouble my heart sank for her then the Windigo going after not just her but Carter and Henry as well had me on the edge of my seat in a matter of speaking The revelation at the end that the guy will from the poster they saw of the missing couple they saw when they first arrived before they got to the cabin turned out to be Ansel's Brother but also apparently a Windigo wow I totally did not see that twist comming. I had tears in my eyes when Carter was basically more or less breaking up with Maddie by saying he needs space away from her for a while so he'd be going to NYU in the fall and then when she goes to her packs headquarters and finally goes into Ryan's Study and found the letter he wrote her in the book wanting her to continue his research he had been doing I was in tears again. I'll admit it's not very often I finsh a book so quickly but I absolutely could not put this book down for very long the end of every chapter had me really wanting to know what happened next. My mantra I kept reciting in my head throughout the entire book and espically the second half was "Just One More Chapter" over and over again. I Highly recommend this book. I absolutely loved it.

A way fun yet spooky ride through the forests of Maine. The trio from Discovered is back, as lovable and endearing as always! Maddie is a magnet for trouble and I love her dragging her two guys through it.
As a sequel to the first book I found this one slightly less enjoyable but still full of the things to that I loved about the first book. The storyline that this follows was really interesting and I found it more intense than the first. The characters felt well written and were just as lovable but had their flaws shown as well. Overall I felt this was a good sequel, and I loved the further exploration of the world it's set in. Though I did wish the characters communicated with eachother better, I found the relationships between them really interesting. If any more are released in this series I'll definitely be reading them.
The second instalment in the series is just as enjoyable to read as the first. It’s well written, fast paced, and you feel like you are right there in the woods with the characters. I really enjoyed that the monster in this book wasn’t just another werewolf, and it brought more depth to the book by acknowledging other supernatural beings. Overall a great read!
Such an amazing story! It is so well written you actually believe you are there with the characters. I must of had every emotion reading this book from heart pounding fear to heartbreak. It has you gripped throughout, such a page turner. I love Maddie, Carter and Henry and hope to hear from them again!!
This is the 2nd book in a trilogy and I can see that the author has grown so much in her writing style. She kept me hooked from chapter to chapter with a great story and great suspense. One I started I couldn’t put it down.
