The Unseen #3

Haunting Our Past

Rate this book
Olivia lost so much in the accident. Too much. But nobody lost more that night than Chris and his family.

Chris hates Olivia for the role she played in his brother’s death, and she knows he will never forgive her. Yet a part of her can’t help but hope that he will, because the feelings she used to have for her brother’s friend are back. If she’s honest with herself, maybe they never left.

Tragedy turned him against her, but as time starts to thaw the ice between them, her hopes no longer seem so far-fetched. There’s just one problem: Olivia is hiding something from him. As they get closer and she falls harder, Olivia knows she needs to tell Chris about the mistake that haunts her, even if it means losing him forever.

Except Olivia isn’t the only one keeping secrets. Everyone in her life has been lying to her, and their lies have left her vulnerable to the paranormal force that’s seeking revenge.

Maggie I. Fields lives in South Africa, but her heart remains in the US, where she spent time as an au pair. When she’s not writing, she’s usually reading, reading, or, alternatively, reading. She also occasionally does other things like spending time with her family and friends, listening to Taylor Swift on repeat, and investing in yet another bookshelf. But mostly, she’s reading.

I don't often give 5 stars to books these days but this one deserved all the stars. The emotions that this story elicited from me were so strong and I can't even do them justice to try and explain. The characters hurt my soul in the best of ways and I felt everything they did which was crushing but at the same time so uplifting at moments.

I highly highly recommend this series, which I was already in love with, but now I'm even more obsessed. I'm so sad to see these characters end but I'll be very excited to see what we'll be getting from this author next. And now I'll be doing a re-read of the the whole series all together.

So much of this could have been avoided if they all had better communication skills 🙄

Chris never gave Olivia a chance to explain anything. At the same time, Olivia created more issues by not talking when she should have (and I’m not talking about the abuse at Drew’s hands). Even Riley, dragged her feet this whole book to tell Olivia the truth.

Maybe I’m crazy, but I never put the blame on Olivia. Drew is the one who decided to drive drunk. Chris, having known Olivia for most of her life, seriously couldn’t stop to think that she would have done everything she could to stop Drew from driving??? He never gave her the benefit of the doubt even knowing what kind of person she is. If I were Olivia, I wouldn’t have forgiven him that easy. He treated her like such shit after the video leaked. He couldn’t have asked her what she meant by it.

Idk, I just feel so bad for Olivia that she’s surrounded by people who don’t give a shit about her. At first I kept being like move on from the Riley favoritism shit but by the end I could see why she had such self esteem issues.

I loved this series, but the way Chris treated Olivia even if he was hurt, she didn't deserve it after all she was going through.
Just for that I won't give it 5/5 but at the end was a good closure for all the characters and love stories

Couldn’t put it down

I never write reviews, I’m more of just a star rating girl lol This book I actually really enjoyed…Chefs kiss. I stayed up until 1:27am to finish it because I couldn’t put it down. I definitely cried multiple times. Liv was hands down my favorite character in this entire series. It’s a pretty easy read and has some great twist that I didn’t expect at all in it. The ending did feel a little rushed but I was fine with it because your girl needed to go to bed and all. Definitely recommend!

Olivia and Chris

Her boyfriend killed Chris’ brother driving drunk. His family hated Olivia because she was in the car.

Liv and Chris fell for each other until he heard she caused the wreck by punching him.

Chris allowed her to see him at their table in the library with a former hookup and said HORRIBLE things to her.

Hated how there was so much talk of his manhoe ways.

Heartbreakingly sad at times. She must have been so lonely.
