Various is the correct author for any book with multiple unknown authors, and is acceptable for books with multiple known authors, especially if not all are known or the list is very long (over 50).

If an editor is known, however, Various is not necessary. List the name of the editor as the primary author (with role "editor"). Contributing authors' names follow it.

“How often the life of one servant of God has inspired another!” (p. 178)

This is a wonderful collection of missionary biographies that is sure to fan into flame the desires of many who aspire to give their life to making the name of Christ known among the unreached. I was particularly encouraged by the life of David Brainerd and was reminded of how our life truly is but a mist.

My only issue with this work is how certain authors (each chapter penned by someone different) were more difficult to read than others.

As a whole, this book is a strong reminder of how God uniquely uses flawed but faithful men to draw countless souls to Himself and accomplish His work in the world. I loved seeing that story play out across different eras and places. It’s hard to read these mini biographies and not feel challenged to take a fresh look at how I’m using the time the Lord has given me, and to live with more eternal weight and urgency.

Because each bio is written by a different author, the quality is a bit uneven, some were stronger than others. But the finale with John Paton is worth the journey to get there. Excited to read further into each of these men’s lives.

Not a bad book about the history of certain missionaries who brought/translated the Bible to different parts of the world. Due to the various biographies being written by different authors. Some parts were boring, abhorrently meticulous in certain areas, leaving me no choice but to put down the book for days at a time. However i must also say the knowledge and facts i gathered from this book i will carry with me all my life. Being able to add to the conversation when the topic of the ways God provides to those who pray, and how even people you think could never accept God in their lives end up saved. This book gave me hope and the ability to see the various ways God can use us for His will.
God Bless all who have read or will read the book, it may be tough but you won't regret it. Such is the work we do for the Lord.
