It's the fourth book in my Underdogs Series, and I'm thoroughly enjoying making and rereading them. I plan for this series to have several books, as well as a more adult continuation in the future.
Follow Isis as she navigates graduation, a secret placement test, and... aliens?
I found the references to Alice in Wonderland intriguing in The Imposters by K. Weikel. In the throes of a war, the Vemans have trained children in military pursuits. As a strong female protagonist Isis Nevada jumps through the final hoops of military training while trying to avoid getting bitten by a bug that will change her into the very thing she wishes to avoid. Trials invigorate her skills while reinforcing her core values. As Isis herself explains it, "family isn't whose blood you share, but for whom you would bleed." With some additional editing I would highly recommend this action-packed sci-fi thriller.
This fourth book in the series continues to keep me engaged and interested. I won't go overboard and call it the best I've ever read, but the 5 star rating is well deserved.
