Between Now and Forever

Neighbors to lovers can be a risky proposition in this funny, sexy, and swoony romantic comedy between a single mother and the grumpy man next door by USA Today bestselling author Adriana Locke.

When Gabrielle Solomon falls, she falls hard. Even if that means literally toppling over a porch railing in nothing but a flimsy towel—right in front of her sexy new neighbor.

Jay Stetson is 100 percent hero material with those arms, that chest, and his deliciously oh-so-sexy smirk. The chiseled hunk in flannel has an irresistible off-limits attitude while plucking Gabrielle out of the bushes and saving her from a snake. Unfortunately, he’s not indulging in what Gabrielle is offering—not with his emotional train wreck of a past.

Just neighbors. Just friends. Or so he says.

Secretly, he’s smitten with the single, fierce mama bear of two who plays Miss Fix-It at the house next door. He doesn’t even really mind the noise or the chaos her young sons cause. What he does mind is how his lonely heart races when looking into her emerald-colored eyes.

Can Jay let his painful memories go, or will he let the woman of his dreams slip between his fingers?

Accidentally flashing your hot neighbor while taking a tumble into your flower bed might not be the ideal way to say hi, but she sure did leave an impression.
She’s a single mom. Single mom’s terrify Jay. He can not get involved, getting his heart ripped out a second time would kill him.

SPOILER FURTHER DOWN(there’s another warning just above it)

I’ve read one other book by AL and unfortunately this one didn’t impress me as much. This is about idiot 1, Gabbie and idiot 2, Jay. (Okay that’s a bit harsh), but they were both acting a bit moronic at times. A 38 year old and a 40 year old. Baby you really should be able to communicate properly by now. When they did communicate, they did it well, it just took them waaay to long to actually get to that point. If I wanted push & pull and assumptions to be made, there are plenty of romance books featuring 22 year olds. Jay needed therapy first, a significant other after said therapy. Gabbie needed family therapy first, a significant after said therapy. Did ANYONE see a therapist? No.

Gabrielle
Gabbie is 38 years old and she’s a great mom. I almost started crying imagining having such a supportive, calm and understanding mother lol. I loved seeing her take her life back, start living instead of just surviving.

Jay
Jay is 40 years old and talkes to himself(not too much). He was great with the kids and it was so sad what his ex did. He was so sweet with both Gabbie and her boys.

SPOILER WARNING
My issues with this book:

- We have a seven year old kid, whose very present father died a year ago. Now he meets his mom’s ”friend” a few times and goes ”You’re practically my dad” HUH? Then we have the fourteen year old who tells Jay ”He wished they never met” and ”You’re not my dad”. 2 months later? ”I want you to marry my mom” And we didn’t even get to see Jay and the kid get along? AT ALL
- Too much was going on for those poor 200 pages. You can’t throw in several half-cooked side plots and expect the reader to be satisfied by the ending with half-done solutions and unsatisfying ends.
- The two things listed above just made it all feel very inauthentic and rushed. I needed more on-page relationship development between the mc’s and between the kids and Jay.
- ”Poor boys to not have a male figure” ADRIANA what year are you stuck in? It was mentioned several times how the boys ”needed a good man in their lives”. There were ”grown man things” to be done and Jay was making a big deal out of treating a FOURTEEN YEAR OLD as an adult. Girl be so for real, that’s a kid.

I gues it’s a sweet read. Would recommend if you’re a fan of the single mom trope. I over all liked the mc’s. Loved Carter!

Could this book be any sweeter? I have a toothache after reading it! The first few pages had me laughing out loud and once we meet the MMC Jay, I adored him. I really enjoyed this story and the characters. I do not envy the situation they have to overcome to be together, but it is definitely something very prevalent in every day lives. Single mom trope isn't a typical read for me but this one is super cute and I really liked Gabrielle.

This is a single mom falls in love with the sexy guy next-door romance. There is some good spice. Both Gabby and Jay have their own trauma that they are working to overcome from previous relationships. It highlights the challenges that single moms face when dating.

You can feel the chemistry between them from the beginning & it also starts off with a very funny scene that I loved. The spicy scenes were realllyy good, but weren’t excessive.

There is also some fun quirky friends that Gabby meets along the way with their own wild side stories.

I thought this was really good and is a quick read. I have read so many romances lately that are simply just too long & this one was absolutely perfect in length.

There is something to stories where the MCs are in a different stage of life.

Gabrielle's just moved back home. After living years in Boston, she's back with her two sons, Dylan and Carter. Carter is a happy go lucky kid who's found the bright spot of moving. Dylan... not so much. Both boys (and Gabrielle) are grieving the death of her ex.

The place Gabrielle has moved into is... a fixer upper. And no one can fix better than Gabrielle. Pretty much wrong. A mishap brings her new neighbor into her orbit. Jay. Jay, who's definitely not looking for love. He's been burned really badly before by another single mom, and his heart is closed .

Attraction is there, though, on both sides. Gabrielle is pretty heartbroken about what happened and is really dedicated to putting her kids first. Even if that means saying no to a new relationship. And Jay... He goes back and forth a little, but he's suffered some loss too. It's hard to put yourself out there when you've lost pretty badly.

I enjoyed Gabrielles' handiwork. She wanted to be Ms FixerUpper, but.... at first you don't succeed, keep trying!

I enjoyed the side characters in this one. Gabrielle is pretty close to her cousin and also gains some new confidantes. I love some beginning friendships. I hope we get to read more about this group.

I love a good grumpy hero romance. Add in a single mom and a fun friend group, and you’ve got Between Now and Forever. I had fun reading this one but it was also sweet and emotional. A heartwarming romance I would recommend.

My heart wasn't ready for the swoon and heartache overload in Between Now and Forever by Adriana Locke. Gabrielle and Jay will steal your heart. For now and forever! The chemistry is sizzling hot but their circumstances and their emotional baggage made it a slow burn..and I am here for it because when the spice hits, it's heaven! Gabrielle amazed me with her sweetness, sass and courage. And we all love a book boyfriend who is alpha but comes with a side of vulnerability. If you are looking for one book to read before the year ends, choose Between Now and Forever by Adriana Locke.

✔️ small town romance
✔️ neighbors to lovers
✔️ grumpy sunshine
✔️ single mother ( divorced and then her husband died)
✔️ Great secondary characters
✔️ blue collar worker hero
✔️ she names babies for a job!
✔️ contemporary romance

Adriana Locke gave us a great mix of all kinds of feels. Gabrielle moved back to her home town with her boys( Dylan and Carter) for a fresh start after her ex passed away. They were still best friends. She has been grieving and the boys are having a hard time with adjusting with their new reality. She is the best mother. She did everything She could to make it easy for the boys but she is still a mess. I love how big her heart is. She is witty and funny and charming and adorable but when she moved next door to Jay, she didnt have all the light in her soul.

Jay had a life altering experience with his previous serious relationship who was a single mother with a cute girl and who devastated him by cutting him off after their break up. He stays inside his own cage. Working, having occasional meeting with his friend, meaningless hook up..that's it. He definitely had no business feeling this urge to help the single mother next door. But their attraction was irresistible.

Gabrielle wants the love and adoration because she has been missing it so long. She just wanted someone to share her life with. Jay with his protectiveness and bossy attitude and surprising charm made her feel like she is living her life again. But Jay's demons were not so easy to beat. Her boys are the most important factor here and Jay ran when things became hard..but realised his mistake real soon. Their banter and sassy conversations were everything. Before they gave in to their passion, they became unlikely friends first. Gabrielle healed Jay and broke down her walls. And she found the man she deserved.

What a great book! I loved that both of the MC’s were older and I’m a sucker for a single parent book. I was a single mom with younger kids years ago and I still remember feeling some of the same things as Gabrielle. I also had a son that acted out like Dylan as I started dating again….those were some difficult times and Adriana Locke portrayed them perfect. With all that said however, Carter was the star of this book! Gah I love that kid!!

This is a captivating love story that explores love, loss, friendship and family.
Gabrielle, a quirky and independent single mother, finds herself drawn to her hot as sin neighbor, Jay.
Despite his initial resistance and emotionally guarded heart, Jay's protective instincts and growing attraction to Gabrielle, and also her intrusive and defiant children, gradually soften his hardened heart and puts him right where she wants... Under her spell.

The slow-burn romance is filled with tension and angst, as well as witty banter and playful bickering between these two. Gabrielle's quirky personality and unwavering dedication to her kids, brings an unique and refreshing dynamic to the story. Jay's gruff exterior and hidden vulnerabilities also creates a compelling contrast, leading to a truly heartwarming and satisfying romance.

I have to say that their point of conflict was a bit OTT and out of nowhere for my liking.
But it ended on a good note.

If you enjoy a slow-burn, small town romance, with a grumpy hero and a great heroine, Between Now and Forever is your thing.

Read if you like: neighbours to lovers, single mum, grumpy x sunshine, small town, returning to hometown

1.5-2 ⭐️ because this book made me mad lol

Gabrielle is a single mum to two boys. She’s just moved back home to a small town and meets her hot new neighbour Jay under unfortunate circumstances. Jay is jaded, he doesn’t want to date after his last failed relationship but can’t stop helping Gabrielle.

Now usually I like a protective MMC but he didn’t know Gabrielle at all besides that she was a single mum. He wasn’t making any moves and he was trying to avoid her, but he was talking about he wanted to protect her and her kids and couldn’t imagine anyone else in their life. I just wasn’t convinced that he liked her at all. He was constantly running away from her.

There was no chemistry or connection and I just thought they were meant to be with other people. The yelling mid sex? Uhhh okay each to their own I guess 😬😂

Dylan (her son) was going through a lot and while I understand his situation, I wanted to shake Gabrielle because she was not handling his attitude problem well at all. She was a doormat and continued to let him disrespect her and it drove me insane. PARENT YOUR KID!!! 😤🤬

It made me SO mad for her to say “I won’t fight for a man that won’t bother to fight for me” because all I’ve been seeing is that he’s been trying, and helping and opening his heart after his rough past, but all I see is Dylan hating him and Gabrielle saying shit all about it.
The only characters who didn’t piss me off were Carter and Gabrielle’s girl friends 🥲

Everyone needed therapy but nobody saw a therapist 😡 to top it off, the book had such an unsatisfying/quick ending that felt unresolved 😭

A clear miss for me, but if you’re keen on the tropes maybe give this book a go (there’s lots of positive reviews so I’m definitely in the minority here ahh)

Thank you Montlake and NetGalley for this ARC

Between Now and Forever is such a great read. Gabrielle is a widow who moves back to her home town with her two sons. Her neighbor is the grumpy carpenter Jay. Their first meeting is hilarious but Gabrielle cannot stop thinking about Jay. Can Jay overcome his past to let Gabrielle and her boys into his heart? Can Gabrielle start to live her life? Jay is such a good man in the way he handles Dylan’s anger, Gabrielle’s older son. I recommend this book to all.

This was a solid 3.5 stars for me. This is only my second neighbors/strangers to lovers, and I did enjoy it overall. Everything just happened a little faster for my pace than I would have liked. I had a hard time really connecting with the characters. And really had a hard time getting in Jay's head. I appreciated Gabrielle and her strength as a single mom. She was going through so much and had been putting her family first understandably. She was at a point where she wanted something for her. After we learned more about Jay's past I understood his actions a LITTLE more, but he was still a tad bit annoying with the back and forth. I'm not sure if I were Gabrielle that I would have gone to him after the bar that night.

Gabrielle has moved her family back to her hometown. She has been dealing with the death of her ex husband who was still one of her best friends. She has a fourteen year old who is on another level with grief and emotions right now and then a seven year old who is as happy as a golden retriever. She knows being here is the right decision for her. She just has to make some adjustments to her life. She is realizing that she feels more comfortable doing things for her in this setting where she knows more people. Which is how she finds herself getting mixed up with her hot neighbor, Jay. He seems cold and a little weary but then will do things that show the opposite. She finds herself drawn to him. She can't help it. So when she makes the decision that she is going to try to find someone in her life- her sights are set on Jay. But he is being to yo-yo for her. So she goes out one night but then Jay is there and she can't help but notice that he is being jealous. One thing leads to another and now they are semi dating. Gabrielle's heart breaks when she learns more about Jay's past. So when her family sets something off for him unintentionally, their new relationship is put to the test. WIll he be able to put aside the hurt and realize that Gabrielle is different than Melody was? Or will he walk away?

Jay is fine being single. He has been propositioned by so many people he can't keep track anymore. So when he finds himself drawn to his new neighbor and her two kids he is baffled. He has not only avoided women and relationships but specifically single moms because of how badly his ex hurt him with her daughter. He can't go through that pain again. But he also can't seem to stay away. He loves her honesty and her confidence (even if she shouldn't have it). But when things seem to be going a certain way he freaks. He thinks he made the right decision but then sees Gabrielle out talking to someone else and all bets are off. He likes her. He wants her. No more hiding his feelings. Things are going to happen now. He can be strong for her. He can put aside his hurt from the past. Or can he? Because her son Dylan is really struggling when he finds about Gabrielle and Jay and now Jay is realizing he may have moved too quickly. Will he be able to get over his past because he knows that if he doesn't end up with Gabrielle- he will forever be alone.

This was a super short easy read with nice spice. I think I had a harder time connecting to the characters because of the length maybe? I would still recommend it. I am wondering if Adriana is going to make further books in this world- I am looking at you Della.

Adriana Locke's latest release is "Between Now and Forever." The Queen of the Small Town Setting has done it again! The book had everything I love to read: funny, sexy, and swoon-worthy scenes between a single mom and a gorgeous grumpy neighbor!

Gabrielle falls hard, literally, and makes an unforgettable first impression on her sexy neighbor Jay! From the start, the funny and sweet meet-cute had me hooked!

Gabrielle is a single mother of two boys who has returned to her hometown. She is divorced, but her ex-husband, who was still her best friend, unexpectedly passes. Jay is a grumpy neighbor who keeps to himself, and despite his determination to stay away, he can't help but be attracted to Gabrielle and bonds with her youngest son, Carter.

I enjoyed the slow buildup with Jay and Gabrielle. Their journey was not without its challenges, but there was no denying their attraction! Gabrielle learned that it was okay to ask Jay for help and rely on him. I also loved seeing how his relationship with her two sons evolved, particularly with Dylan.

Adriana did a great job exploring challenges parents have to deal with especially when one parent has passed. The story was wonderfully written, and it is not only beautiful, but also passionate and heartfelt.

Rachel Vivette and Oliver Clarke gave a wonderful narration. They did an excellent job delivering the performances in the audiobook. Together, they brought these characters to life. Their performances drew me into the story and made me feel for the characters. Rachel and Oliver's heartfelt performances made this an excellent audiobook.

Thank you to Adriana Locke, Brilliance Publishing (Brilliance Audio), and Valentine PR for the advanced reader and listener copies. All opinions are my own.

In her latest contemporary romance novel, USA Today bestselling author Adriana Locke delivers a masterfully crafted story that explores the complexities of love, family, and healing from past trauma. "Between Now and Forever" introduces readers to Gabrielle Solomon, a witty and resilient single mother of two, and Jay Stetson, the guarded yet irresistible neighbor who captures her heart despite his best efforts to maintain emotional distance.

Writing Style and Narrative Structure

Locke's writing shines brightest in her ability to balance emotional depth with moments of genuine humor. The alternating perspectives between Gabrielle and Jay provide intimate insights into both characters' internal struggles while maintaining a perfect pace that keeps readers engaged. The author's signature style of incorporating small-town charm with contemporary relationships is evident throughout the narrative.

The dialogue is particularly noteworthy - sharp, authentic, and often laugh-out-loud funny. Locke has a remarkable talent for capturing the natural banter between characters, whether it's the playful exchanges between Gabrielle and Jay or the heartwarming (and sometimes heartbreaking) conversations between mother and sons.

Character Development

The Main Characters

Gabrielle Solomon: A refreshingly realistic portrayal of a single mother navigating life after loss. Her determination to create a better life for her sons while maintaining her sense of humor makes her instantly relatable. Her character growth throughout the novel is organic and well-paced.

Jay Stetson: The author excels in crafting a male lead who is both strong and vulnerable. His past trauma with Melody and Izzy is handled with sensitivity, and his journey from emotional isolation to opening his heart again feels authentic rather than forced.

Supporting Cast

The supporting characters are well-developed and serve essential roles in the story:

- Dylan and Carter (Gabrielle's sons): Their distinct personalities and individual struggles add depth to the family dynamic

- Cricket, Della, and Scottie: The female friendship group provides both comic relief and emotional support

- The small-town community of Alden: Creates a rich backdrop that enhances the story's charm

Themes and Emotional Depth

The novel explores several compelling themes:

- The courage required to love again after loss
- The complexities of blending families
- The importance of facing past trauma
- The balance between protecting oneself and taking emotional risks
- The healing power of community and friendship

Critical Analysis

Strengths

- Authentic portrayal of single parenthood and its challenges
- Well-developed character arcs for both main characters
- Natural progression of the romance
- Skillful handling of heavy emotional themes
- Strong supporting character development

Areas for Improvement

- Some readers might find the conflict resolution slightly rushed
- The initial meet-cute scenario, while entertaining, borders on cliché
- Certain secondary plot threads could have been explored more deeply
- The timing of some emotional revelations could have been better paced

Romance and Chemistry

The chemistry between Gabrielle and Jay is electric from their first encounter. What sets this romance apart is how their relationship develops not just through physical attraction but through genuine care and understanding. The author skillfully builds tension while keeping the focus on emotional connection.

Impact and Resonance

"Between Now and Forever" stands out in the contemporary romance genre for its authentic portrayal of complex family dynamics and emotional healing. The book's greatest strength lies in its ability to tackle serious themes while maintaining hope and humor throughout the narrative.

Final Verdict

This heartwarming romance successfully combines humor, heart, and healing in a package that will satisfy both longtime Locke fans and newcomers to her work. While there are minor areas for improvement, the overall story is engaging, emotionally satisfying, and worth reading.

An emotional journey about a love that grew despite all the doubts and insecurities that got in the way.

With that hilarious opening scene, we were introduced to Gabby and Jay and learned quite a bit about their living situations. But Jay was markedly closed-off, grumpy, and really not ready for Gabby. I have to admit, I was not that enamored of him at the start. His hot-and-cold attitude towards Gabby and her boys just became increasingly frustrating.

I really felt for Gabby. She was slowly getting ready to move on, but her two boys and her concerns for their wellbeing made that more complicated. There was an immediate and undeniable attraction between her and Jay, but their personal baggage was like an obstacle course that looked to be an insurmountable challenge.

It was painful to experience all these roller coaster feelings with Gabby and Jay, and more notably from Dylan. Jay had the most trouble overcoming his hangups, but his capitulation was sweet indeed. Gabby's sister and friends added some much-needed levity and I enjoyed their shenanigans.

I can recommend this if you like a romance that is hard won, with flawed characters and plenty of introspection.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Oh my goodness! I devoured this book! Adriana Locke truly never misses. I have not read a book by her that I didn't get completely lost in. Between Now and Forever was no different. This book follows Jay and Gabrielle, who find love amidst personal loss and past heartbreaks. After her ex-husband passes away, Gabrielle returns to her hometown and becomes neighbors with Jay. Their funny meet-cute (she literally falls into his life) sparks a slow-burning romance. Initially, Jay is super grumpy and tries to stay away from Gabrielle. Gradually, he warms up to her and her sons, especially as he bonds with Carter, the youngest of the two.

I loved Jay and Gabrielle together. Their journey was complicated and had ups and downs; however, they were undeniably attracted to each other. Jay showed Gabrielle that although she could do things on her own, it was ok to lean on him for help. I was invested in the development of Jay's relationship with Gabrielle's sons. Carter was innocent and sweet and added a bit of humor to the story, while Dylan, the teenager, struggled to work out his feelings after losing their dad. Between Now and Forever explores parenting challenges, healing from past wounds, and embracing second chances. This well-written story is beautiful, emotional, and heartwarming.

Narration:
Rachel Vivette and Oliver Clarke, both new to me as narrators, delivered captivating performances in the audiobook. They really brought Gabrielle and Jay to life. Oliver portrayed Jay's pain and desire for solitude, while Rachel expressed Gabrielle's resilience, bright spirit, warmth, and journey to find love again. Their performances pulled me into the story and made me care deeply about the characters. Rachel and Oliver's emotional narration enhanced my listening experience.

This was a cute, quick and easy read from Adriana Locke. A complete stand alone about neighbours Jay and Gabrielle who meet when single mom Gabrielle falls on her decking wearing only a towel when trying to get a good luck at Jay!
It’s a low angst neighbours to lovers story, with a little drama caused by Gabrielle’s teenage son.
I liked both characters but would have loved to have seen a little more of their relationship developing and just the 2 of them, as well as with her sons.
Thank you to the author and Netgalley for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

Wholesome, incredibly well paced and with all the right elements to capture one’s attention, Between Now and Forever was a bag of chips; one can’t just read a chapter at a time… the same way we can’t eat just the one chip; the whole bag is gone by the time you look.

Gabrielle’s interactions with Jay made my heart burst with joy, but it was the found family in this group of girl friends that made this book insanely good. That and her kids… Jay and her kids… Gabrielle and her kids. I can’t express the way my heart is trying to break free of my chest. 🥹

I’ve been a fan of Adriana Locke for a while. Her books are always what I need, when I need them. But this one? This one is special 🫶🏼

Swoon! Between Now and Forever by Adriana Locke was a heartfelt neighbors to lovers romance that consumed me from start to finish. I adored everything about Gabrielle and Jay’s journey to HEA. Adriana Locke is the queen of writing the best kids in her books, and Dylan and Carter were no exception!

Rachel Vivette and Oliver Clarke perform this audiobook in dual narration. Both narrators are new to me and did a great job conveying the past pain and pent up tension between Gabrielle and Jay. Rachel’s portrayal captured Gabriell’s resilience, passion, and love for her boys and desire for Jay. Oliver’s performance encompassed Jay’s doubts and dedication to Gabrielle that made him simply irresistible. Plus, both narrators did a fantastic job presenting the longing and undeniable chemistry between Gabrielle and Jay.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. If you are a fan of a small town romance with a devoted single mom, a hot reclusive carpenter, falling-off-the-porch meet cutes, new neighbors, fixer uppers, two apprehensive brothers, dirty talk, ladies night out, jealousy, explosive first kisses, slow burn steam, coming clean, accepting new realities, starting fresh, love declarations, and a HEA that will last from now till forever, then you will love Gabrielle and Jay’s romance. I always look forward to more from Adriana Locke.

Blending humor, let’s start with the meet-cute, girl gang, and a really cute kid. Add in plenty of emotional baggage from both our main characters, creating a slow burn, and Ms. Locke has given us her latest book.

Gabrielle, a single mom relocating back to the town she grew up in, she has family close, and the slower pace of a small town has its appeal. Jay her new neighbor, the town grump, has his reasons for his nature, but the attraction is immediate. But Gabrielle’s youngest Carter, just cannot stay away from Jay.

I loved this easy to read, low angst read from beginning to end. While the writing of Gabrielle’s kids is spot on, Carter will steal your heart. Jay is a cinnamon roll, once his heart warms up, and their journey is an enjoyable read.

Listening to this as an audiobook was an experience all on its own. The narrator brought the chemistry between the main characters to life in a way that felt so vivid, I could almost feel their emotions. Their connection was undeniable, and I found myself completely invested in their journey.

Both of their stories were so heartbreaking, and hearing their pain through the narrator’s voice made it hit even harder. But what really stood out were the little moments of hope—friendship, laughter, and those tiny sparks of joy that kept them moving forward.

I went through so many emotions while listening—I was mad, I was glad, and sometimes both at once. Life is unpredictable, but this audiobook reminded me how beautiful it is to get a second chance, to start over, and to find something worth holding on to. It was raw, emotional, and incredibly moving.

BLURB:

This book is one of those perfect reads for when you need a story that feels like the best, warmest, hope-giving hug. Adriana Locke created a masterpiece with this one.

Jay and Gabby are both carrying some deep wounds from their pasts when their paths cross. I loved seeing how Gabby and her sons unwittingly pull Jay into their orbit again and again. The inner struggles of both main characters are prevalent, but the pull towards each other is too strong for them to resist.

This is a book full of wonderful characters, relatable struggles, healing, sassy banter, crabby teenagers, and so many swoony feelings.

This was a sweet single mom, neighbor to lovers romance. I enjoyed Jay and Gabrielle’s story. The audio was narrated by Oliver Clarke and Rachel Vivette and did an amazing job.

Between Now And Forever is a sweet single mom romance. It started off strong with so many funny moments which truly grabbed me and hooked me to the story. The chemistry between Gabbie & Jay was palpable right from the start. I loved that it was a super fast read, straight to the point and delivered what it had to. As usual Adrianas always knows how to give us beautiful stories.

I really liked both MC's, they both had struggles to face and overcome which they did by the end. I do wish they would've communicated a little better for their age though, I did feel they came off a bit immature in some parts. In a way, I could understand that it was due to all their baggage. I did feel like the last part of the book was a little rushed, I would've liked a bit more relationship building there.

Overall, it was a great read. Super fast and easy to get lost in. Funny, emotional and addictive.

🎧 The narration by Rachel Vivette & Oliver Clarke was great. I thought they played the characters really well. The emotions were felt through their voices, the pain, the chemistry. They truly brought the story to life.

Oh my heart. I loved this book and the characters! The love Gabrielle has for her boys and her dedication to them was so sweet. Jay and his character growth throughout the book was beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time when he finally reveals his past. The two of them together was full of tension and chemistry while showing realistic growing pains of having children while dating. I loved the world building, relationships with side characters and couldn’t put the book down! I definitely recommend reading this book if you enjoy small town romance, funny banter and heartwarming moments!
