About the author

Gigi O’Dea is an international award-winning photographer best known for her creative, fine-art style and powerful storytelling portraits. A Master Photographer and Master Artist, she has been awarded Photographer and Artist of the Year at the local, state, and national levels. Gigi has over 20 years of professional experience photographing newborns, children, families, and pets in her Florida studio and around the USA.

She first discovered her love for being behind the camera when she became a mother and adopted her oldest child in 2002. A 20-year background in neonatal intensive care nursing gave her a special talent for working with newborns and babies, which boosted her photography from a hobby into a business and eventually her full-time career. Her abundant love for all babies, including kittens and puppies, sparked her creativity to create a photographic storybook for children to share her art and passion with others. In 2023, she welcomed Millie, a Cavapoo puppy, into her home, and saw her goal of becoming a children’s book author come to life.

Loved this sweet book!

This was a cute book that my daughter was obsessed with due to it having puppies! It was a quick read but it kept her attention with the rhymes.

Puppy Tales - The Obstacle Challenge. This book is motivated by the importance of friendship. It features beautiful art and photography, as well as educational poetry that is perfect for young children. The poetry format makes it easier for little ones to remember the story. Additionally, the professional-level color unity and photography add to the overall quality of the book.
Combining pictures and poetry can be a helpful technique for children to develop their visual memory and memorize words and sentences. This can have a significant impact on early education and child development. As an artist myself and an adult, I found this book enjoyable to read page by page!
