For days, Darren has been having disturbing and frightening dreams. He dreams of twisted landscapes, a silver river, a man in a colourful suit, and the chiming of a clock.
As the dreams become more vivid and Darren's life collapses around him, all of Mankind wait for the night when the clock chimes sixteen. There will be horror, and there will a coronation.
