In each chapter, the author shares a biblical story from Jesus’ final journey to Jerusalem and explains the significance of the tangible things Jesus lifted up for his followers. Then, each chapter connects the Bible lesson with our own daily lives as well as the lives of men and women who are celebrated in our culture, including the spiritual writer Thomas Merton, the actress and singer Judy Garland, the country musician Merle Haggard and even the beloved Cat in the Hat. After 40 days of connecting scripture with modern life, readers will find themselves freshly aware of the many blessings we have received and the challenges we face in helping to heal the world around us.

About the author

David is known nationwide to journalists and authors who cover the impact of religion and cross-cultural issues on our world today. In nearly 50 years as a journalist, Crumm has won top awards and is a senior fellow with several universities and nonprofits, including the University of Michigan Knight-Wallace Journalism Fellowship, the Washington DC-based East West Center and the International Association of Religion Journalists. He has reported from Europe, the Middle East and Asia. He also is an innovator in professional connections among journalists and authors, establishing a Michigan model for networking professional communicators. On a daily basis, he is building new collegial relationships.
In 2007, David left newspapers to co-found the Front Edge Publishing house and also the weekly online magazine called ReadTheSpirit.com Since that time, David and the Front Edge team have published books on timely themes ranging from interfaith and cross-cultural relationships to caregiving and global peacemaking.
