Dark Captivation book 2 in The Rejected Monster Mates series and it kicked off right where the aftermath of the last book with that jaw droppingly good ending.
Livy (FMC) is now in the hands of the Demon God - Malek but there are a lot of great plot twists and turns in this new kingdom. As well as what Malek is hiding and if he's who he is making to be? It definitely kept me guessing from start to finish and even now after I've read it i still can't work out if Malek is a good guy or not?? Add to that another cliff-hanger ending and Ill be on tenterhooks until the next book. This series just keeps getting better.
This picks up immediately where book one left us. So livy has gone thru the portal and doesn't really know where she is. In a bedroom but, no idea where. She does the only thing she knows and escapes. Nearly making it out of the city, sadly she's the only wolf in the entire place full of demons, she wasn't going to get far.
She was captured by 3 opportunists thinking they could get info to sell to Malek, the demon king. So torture began.... Little did they know this wolf was the demon kings bride so they didn't live very long once he found them...
He calls her Sunny due to the way she lights up the place, so for this review that's what we'll call her. They actually met as children but Sunny doesn't remember.
Malek makes it his task to get her to fall in love with him. But a deal is struck. If she's not in love with him in 2 months he won't wage war. A magical heart tattoo is placed on her chest that will fill when she feels any love for him.
The Book goes into much detail about the history of malek and Sunny which is quite cute.
But poor Sunny spends the entire time in a state of confusion. Is malek good? Is he the monster she keeps hearing about? Can she love him? What happens if she puts her love before the waging of war? Or what about her 3 pre-destined mates? Yes, she was angry about them, but Mellow won't speak to her, telling her Malek is dangerous and she's not helping her till she goes back to them, essentially leaving her without her wolf. In this occasion it's been out of side out of mind.... And when she thinks of them she feels guilt race thru her that she's only thought of Malik
There's a resistance led by a man called Varcus who seems to want peace who's confusing her more. .
Again, this book is brilliantly written and keeps you on your toes the whole way thru. So many twists and turns and getting to know Malek as a person and him and Sunny as a couple was enjoyable..
The cliffhanger was a true cliffhanger and omg do I want book 3 pleeeeease!!!! I really can't see a happy ending for everyone, but there must be and I'm excited to find out how!!!

Omg this book had me HOOKED - somehow more than the first which I didn’t even think was possible! Our girl Livy is now in the very enticing clutches of Malek (who is *rightfully* obsessed with her) and the story is full of twists n turns on the ride to discovering her past and navigating her future. I absolutely loveeee the rejected mates trope so seeing how her relationship with Malek developed in this book kept me flying through the story. Of course this ends on a cliffhanger which literally has me nearly salivating for the next instalment, I need it!!!
This is book 2 in the Rejected Monster Mates Series, you definitely want to read Dark Rejection first as this is a continuation of that story. Dark Captivation picks up with Livy being captured by Malek the Demon God. This book is full of twists and turns, with chaos you can’t see coming. It ends on a cliffhanger and I personally cannot wait for book three. This is a fast paced book that was easy to read with great character development and I devoured it in one sitting.
✨ARC Review✨ This is second installment in the Rejected Monster Mates and I enjoyed it just as much as the first! I loved getting more backstory and world building. It was very intriguing to find out the motivations of the main characters. And I always love a man who would burn down the world for his woman 😭 I also loved the underlying theme that people aren’t who they seem on the outside, and that you have to get to know them before you judge them. That cliffhanger tho! 😱
A paranormal romance not sure if this is why choose or not… I have an inclination that it is and The girl will get all the guys in the end. Can’t wait for book 3 ugh May!!!

Fated mates Demi-gods Shifters Demons 12 inch 🐓
Book 1:
Livy is a shifter wolf who was caught by an Alpha, Prometheus after her parents were killed by monsters. He smelled royalty on her and decided to bring her to his pack to sell her to another pack leader to strengthen their weakened ties with them. This Alpha, Brock was known to kill the women who couldn’t Bare him an heir. She was never allowed to form friendships or relationships with anyone in the pack and was kept under a tight watch by Prometheus. Shifter packs were being taken over by the demon god and they had forbidden anyone to leave the pack or to summon and make a deal with a demon because that’s how the demon god spied on the packs to seek out any weakness to take down the Alpha to infatuate the pack.
The day she was to be sold off to Brock 3 men showed up uninvited to the party stating they were there for their fated-mate. They were 3 Demi-gods, Chasten, Blake and Payton. Also known as monsters in Livi’s eyes and she couldn’t be with them because she felt she’d be a traitor to her parents since they were killed by their kind. She openly rejected them and they were hurt when they left the party. She was trying to plan her escape but was thwarted by Prometheus and he kept a watchful eye on her. After she showed her loyalty by rejecting the Demi-gods he allowed her to go eat a burger for an hour, while still under guard. When she went to leave the guards escorted her home she started to slow and try to run in the opposite direction but ran into one of the gods who captured her and knocked her out.
She woke up in a cage where they said they would withhold food if she doesn’t answer their questions. They wanted info on the pack and the man she was to marry. Once she realized they wanted Intell she stopped talking and they left her. The next day they brought food and told her to eat to gain her strength because they were hunting her. She didn’t believe them at first but they gave her a head start and she ran. When they caught her they inflicted her worse memories on her where she saw her parents being killed by monsters over and over.
She is a “cursed” chaos elemental and she’s hidden that secret her whole life only her best friend Aurora knew. She released the element and a swarm of large monstrous scorpions surrounded them. The issue with her element is that even though she summons it she cannot control it and whatever random thing was released was unpredictable and also attacked her. They all teamed up to flight the scorpions and they killed them all. The gods were not going to kill her (yet). They only wanted to knock her down a peg or 2 for rejecting them. They were rejected by family and the past and it stung to be rejected by the one person they were fated to. They didn’t know what to do with her so they eventually agreed to make her go to the military academy to train… weird right?!
Anywho the schools is full of bullies and mean girls that are jealous that she’s fated to all 3 of the most beautiful and powerful alphas and the ABC’s (mean girls) wanted the Alphas for themselves. Livy did befriend one person Rachel. The guys started to get closer to Livy and she was drawn to them too. But they felt betrayed and she was conflicted since she thought all monsters were the same but she was slowly starting to see that wasn’t true. Chasten was the happy go lucky guy and the first to try to get close to Livy. Blake was the angry bitter sex god who tried to resist her but found out he was consumed by her that he couldn’t continue his sex life with his so called “Pets”. Payton was stoic and hard to read and was the leader but he was also trying to be close to Livy but didn’t admit it.
The so called “Pets” attacked Livy because they were angry and jealous that Blake ended things because of her. Chasten was with her and he saved her life and she his in return. That’s when their hearts started to melt. He decided he wanted to make things work. The school held a game annually at a specific full moon. The guys would drink a potion to weaken their powers to even the playing field for the teams they were placed in. Livy had plans to escape and kill the gods but faulted on this part and decided to escape during the games.
She was tricked and captured by the jealous mean girls who wanted the guys for themselves and solder her back to Prometheus. The guys got there in time but due to their weakened state they were unable to fight and were nearly killed. Livy made a deal that she’d go willingly if the guys were left alone. Prometheus took her to a tent where Brock was and there she finally felt the need to flight and released her chaos. A stampede of large unicorns came and killed Brock and she was able to get the keys not seeing if Prometheus died or not. She saved the guys just in time and she was nursing them to health and they were all seemly happy and moving towards working out. She loved them and realized they were the good guys and the evil was people like Brock and Prometheus. When she went outside to meet Rachael to get supplies she went to go back inside. There she heard the guys talking and Chasten said he wanted to tell Livy the truth… they said that they were responsible for her parents death and she lost it . They didn’t know she overheard them so she locked herself in her room and summoned the demon god to get revenge on them for killing her parents.
Book 2
So this book kind of followed the same pattern as book 1. She gets captured she tried to learn about her surroundings to either kill the demon god or escape. She just didn’t seem to learn from her mistakes and honestly is impulsive and doesn’t think things through. I think she should have talked to the guys because being responsible and actually doing the killing are 2 different things and I think if they were honest with her they could have explained their side of the story. The POV is mainly Livy and a couple from Malek the demon god and none from the guys in book 1.
Livy doesn’t remember her past beyond seeing her parents killed. Malek claims they were friends as kids and they made a promise to be together forever. He lost her when she was taken by Prometheus and it was his mission to find her then wage an all out war once she was safe in his arms so he could create a whole new world that was safe for his Bride and one true love. The only issue was she didn’t want a war and she doesn’t remember her past and doesn’t trust him. She made a deal with him that if she doesn’t fall in love with him by 2 months that he has to set her free and stop the war. She thinks she has this in the bag but she ends up falling for the Demon God.
She is confronted by a rebellion leader Vargas and he wants her to spy and work for him but she refuses because she senses something evil bout him but she agrees that there should be no war so she’s conflicted if shes doing the right thing. Malik wants her to get her memories back so she can trust him again. He takes her to a cave and the waters during this certain rare time is supposed to increase his power. He puts the water on her and eventually her memories start flooding back and then she remembers that they were friends. She sees that he was loyal to her and she never had anyone look out for her the way he has. Livy and Malek end up making love and she loses her virginity to him and the hollow heart that represents the deal is half full showing she’s falling for him. The next day they were supposed to all head to the school to talk to the students as a meet and greet. Malek is held back because Chasten, Blake and Payton are at the gates and want Livy back and think she’s under Malik’s thrall. They get beaten and when Malik is about to make the killing blow he gets word that the school is under attack.
When he gets there he knows it is Vargas doing and it’s a ghost from his past but we don’t know why yet. Whatever happened in his past is why he is the way he is and Livy is determined to find out why. She’s being held captive along with his Sister. She escapes and finds Malik and Vargas fighting. Malik is about to lose and Livy saves him Biting Vargas arm off and he escapes. Malik take Livy on a vacation to get her away from all the caios but really he’s trying to get her away from her mates. He’s jealous of the mating bond because he feels that his love for her more worthy since they choose to love each other and not forced by some fate. He gives her a necklace that was his moms before she died of a rare demon plague but she doesn’t except the gift feeling that she’ll betray herself letting him in and not ending the war.
Unfortunately for them they are followed and attack by a mage who tries to portal them into a trap but Malik uses his magic to have the portal take them to the castle library. The mage is somewhere in the castle and he can portal more Mages in so he tells her and his sister to hide while he tries to find them. Livy and his sister get surround by mages in the library and his sister is about to die. Livy sets her caios element and a huge giants rips the roof off and starts eating the mages one by one. Livy tried to escape but is caught by the giant and is about to be eaten when Malik saves her. After they ask how a giant got in and she’s about to admit the truth about her secret element when Malik states that he’s sorry she had to use it saying he’s known all along and was just waiting for her to come him about it.
Malik decided to hold a ball saying to celebrate their victory and Livy is seeing a whole New side of Malik. She thinks she’s sees Chasten as a ghost and follows him out to the forest only to find Vargas who forces her hand to a dagger that is a weapon forged by the gods to kill Malik. She refuses but the weapon is charmed to find the last holder do the dagger and it keeps ending up on her person. At the ball she finds the dagger in her dress. Malik states that he knows that she’s been talking to Vargas but isn’t mad and he doesn’t want to snuff out her light to be who she is and she just knows she loves him and takes the necklace from him which is silently communicating to him that she loves him. He tells her that he was tired of torturing souls in hell and when he told the demons to stop a group led by Vargas rebelled saying that their whole purpose was to torture the souls. They chained him up and tortured him for hundreds of years. A group loyal to him helped him escape but his injuries were so severe he had to be reborn as a teenage boy on earth to heal. There he saw a world full of pain until he met Livy AKA his Sunny. He tries to propose but before he can finish that statement the dagger burns her and smoke comes out from it revealing Vargas in the smoke.
Vargas cuts Malik sending a poison into his system making him weak. Malik tells Livy to go but she refuses and helps him flight. Vargas claims he has the gods on his side and that’s when she realizes what she should do. She uses a technique taught to her by Chasten and kills Vargas showing that the gods have chosen her to try to stop Malik from waging war. Malik is saved… again. The next day Livy hears screaming and follows the sound. In a dungeon where she finds the mages that attacked them locked up asking to get water and to be set free. She basically said they made the bed they need to lay in it… they tell her she’s living under a rock because the war already started weeks ago when he had already made a deal to not to for 2 Months. She feels betrayed again and wonders off and finds Blake, Chasten and Payton locked Up ending with Blake stating…”it’s about damn time”.
Overall it was a good read a little predictable and fit the same formula as book 1 and I felt Livy didn’t have much of a Character arc… the typical heroine saying I can fight and do it on my own but still ends up in sticky situations because she’s not using the right brain cells. I hope she gets all the guys But if not there better be a good reason in book 3…
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Picking up from book 1 where Livy called out to the Demon God Malek to seek revenge against her fated mates for the murdering her parents. I still think there is more to that story.
In this book Livy really worked my last nerve. She can be so smart that she's at times stupid. Livy wants to stop Malek from starting a war amongst all shifters, mages and eventually humankind. Malek wants total world domination in his quest to build the perfect utopia with Livy ruling at his side.
Livy has the bright idea to make a deal with Malek where if she wins he will call off his war but if he wins, the war will commence and Livy must be his bride. Her is where I feel Livy wasn't the smartest 1) Demons don't make deals they can't win. 2) Demons always have loopholes in their deals and the most infuriating thing 3) Livy is a shifter. She has a wolf. Throughout this book she not only disregarded her instincts; she ignored her wolf and her wolf's warnings. See? Not so smart.
There was little mention of Livy's 3 fated mates but they did make a few cameos in this book. At this point I don't know who is the best choice for Livy. Yes, her mates are responsible for her parent's death but Malek has manipulated her throughout this entire book and hid it under the guise of romance.
Yes, Malek was the "perfect" companion in this book but was he really? Malek is playing the long con and it brought me such joy when Livy realized it at the end of this book. Talk about betrayal; yeah Livy was played big time and of course the Cliffhanger leaves us wondering what Livy's new truth are going to lead her.
The ending of this book emphasized the phrase "Everything that glitters isn't gold" and Livy was soon faced with that striking blow at the end of this book and I can't wait to see how she's gonna fix this hot mess that she got herself into. Hmmm, I bet she won't ignore her wolf anymore. Lol
Taylor, miss ma’am, I need book 3 right this second because I need it like I need air. What a sequel.
Book 2 of the Rejected Monster Mates has now firmly planted this series on my favorites list. I am loving this story! The plot is great and there are so many layers to it that that makes this journey unpredictable and I’m here for every second. Just when I thought I knew what was going to happen something else entirely came out of left field and smacked me in the face. I love it. I was hooked from the first sentence.
This book has everything I love about a shifter book, but what im enjoying the most is the different take on a shifter world. Taylor has a way of creating worlds that have a familiarity to them but are sprinkled with unique views and interpretations. It makes the read interesting. I’m enjoying the world development and the imagery from the details that it feels like being transported to another universe. It feels so real its hard to believe that this is just fiction.
I’m not ashamed to admit I love Malek. He can capture me anytime. However, that’s not to say Livys other mates are anything to ignore, I love the wit, the humor, the banter, and I can’t wait to see how they develop further in the next book. I’m loving Livy’s character growth. I can’t wait to see how she ends up by the end of this series. I can’t wait to see them come together more as a unit and how they navigate that with Malek. These characters keep you engaged in the story, and you can’t help but love and hate them at times but you cant deny that they will have you swooning and falling just as hard as Livy with the scorching chemistry and connection they all have.
There is still so much to this story to discover, and I cannot wait to dive in face first when the next book is out.
OMG! What a cliffhanger!! So this book starts where Dark Rejection leaves off. Livy is with Malek and this book is more between the both of them than with her mates. Yes her mates make a debut to try to get her back but not much is talked about them. There are twists and turns in this book and a whole lot of mystery. Livy tries her hardest to put Malek in the veil category but events ensue that turns her view on him in a different direction. His past is a mystery and he tries to have Livy remember what happened when they are kids. Of course, we know that she doesn't remember her last at all..only that Prometheus finds her and has her join his pack. But the mystery of her past is revealed and Malak is the one that reveals it. Along with their last together. But she is still weary about him since he wants to start a war with every race. She wants to believe that he has some good in him and tries to make him see her way but he still doesn't back down. The leader of the resistance, Varcus, talks to her about not trusting Malek and that he is evil through and through. So she has a choice: stay with Malak and make him see no war is needed or go against him and follow the resistance.
There are new characters in this book including Malak's no nonsense sister, Ferina. She is a sister that anyone would love. She stands up to her brother and makes Livy her best friend. She gives a little history into Malek's past but keeps everything else a secret. But Livy still loves her as her friend.
Now that cliffhanger...wow. Makes you want to read the next book to see what happens with her, Malek and her mates. I have no doubt more answers will be revealed but also more questions. However, can't wait to read the next book!
In book two, Livy wakes to discover she is with the Demon God, Malek. Even though he claims he does not believe in fated mates, are they? How can she be fated to someone so evil…or is he? All he displays to her are acts designed to save her, at any cost, from those out to take, destroy, or kill him and her. The world’s outcome might just hinge on a deal between the two.
She meets and befriends his sister, who is a hoot! No one is allowed to speak of time past, why? What is he hiding? Against her better judgement, feelings will develop, but will she fully trust him? There is an enemy of his, but who is truly evil one? Demons want their lives back, but what was it before now? Malek has many troublesome secrets!
She will be given a gift by him that is truly golden to her. But, there is one at the end…if Malek leading her on a merry chase to hide who and what he truly is, or is he for real? Also, there is the matter of her three fated…where are they and what are they up to? Read and find out…ends in another spectacular action-packed cliffhanger! This book will delve mainly into Malek’s world, and his romance with Livy. You cannot help but find him endearing…but that question remains, good or evil?
This series is soooo good! The character development is spot on! I love the twists and turns in this second book because we cannot figure out if the villain is truly a villain or if he is truly a good guy with Livy’s best interests at heart! You will go back and forth trying to figure it out. Taylor is good for slapping us out of left field with surprises! I have read this series 5x so far, and still, I cannot grasp which way Malek is leaning! Need the next book NOW!
When Dark Rejection ended with Livy going with the Demon God I was shocked and a little nervous about what would come in this book. However, Malek (the Demon God) isn't what I expected. He's softer than I thought he would be and so far I'm liking him better than the three demi-gods. It also doesn't hurt that he treats Livy like a treasure. Time will tell if he's the villain and if it matters.
Here we go again. Livy has once again taken up a task that she really has no hope (or skill) of pulling off. But she has spunk and I will admit she seems to be doing a little better in the self-defense department.
The story centers on Livy and Malek, the demi-gods aren't in this one. After learning about the demons in the previous book I'm surprised how calm and normal the demon city seems. The demons themselves don't seem too bad, I adore Malek's sister Ferina and her friends seemed pretty cool. However, there is this ominous feel to the story. Malek is hiding things, there's talk of war, the bet, and there is a negative undercurrent happening in the city. We finally learn about Malek's past and I
Towards the end, there was some action and things were finally revealed including Malek's secret past and now I'm even more conflicted about him. I still can't really get lost in the series like I want to but I am interested in what's coming next, especially with the next book being called Dark Carnage.
Another book I couldn’t put down even though I really should have been working on other things. But it's fine, totally fine, I can clean later. Okay, so this book picks up right where the first one left off, and I'm here for it! Thus, the explanation of my lack of laundry folding. Dark Captivation focuses more on Malek and Livy and their relationship, past, present, and future. Again, I was happy when questions started to have some answers, but I was ready to throw down when more questions kept popping up. I love/hate being so conflicted with who to root for and how I want things to turn out. But at the same time, that alone tells you how good this book is because I am invested in it! Now, Livy does have her fated mates, who we still have to have more time with because I NEED more of all of them! I like to really know the characters and what type of book boyfriends Im actually falling for. That being said, I started to really like Malek during this book. He is always thinking of Livy and trying to explain things to her, which I appreciate. However, Taylor decided, "Hey, you are developing feelings, well let me just hit you with a cliffhanger and some revealing info to make you hit the brakes! Of course, this happens, and I'm second-guessing all of the feels. I see you, Taylor! You have an amazing talent for pulling me in, and I can tell you that I am with you on this wonderfully addictive journey!
Okay I couldn’t put this down. Kept telling myself last chapter before bed and stayed up till 4 am. I wanna scream at the fmc, in fact I definitely screamed at her but she is allergic to logic. Honestly I don’t care that Malek is a demon who started a war to destroy the world just so he can rebuild it for her, i really don’t know why she would either? And I know she is about to be annoying about him keeping her mates locked up when she was the one to ask for revenge on them. Even if they didn’t actually killed her parents, they kidnapped and tortured her for saying no to 3 Radom dudes that just showed up expecting her to like what exactly? One of them really had an orgy while his mate was down the hall and kept trying to make her “his play thing” like okay bodega Christian Grey. I hope she chooses the demon and becomes less annoying on the next one but knowing her, she’s about to piss me off some more.
Overall, I’m very surprised by this series. Malek gives Rhysand vibes but like more unhinged and traumatized mix with War (four horsemen) and I touch of Slade. Her actual mates in the other hand 2 Tamlins and Lucien so ugh.
Livy will get on your last nerve but she stabbed a giant a little, so she’s also cool. Her wolf and i have mixed feelings about her. She’s no Jude or Feyre though.
Dark Captivation, the second book in the Rejected Monster Mates series by Taylor Spratt is a fabulous rejected mate wold shifter romance that is a definite must read! Especially as the last one left us hanging in suspense!
This story continues where the first left us with Livy being with the Demon God Malek and focuses more on their story and way less on her mates—which I personally loved because what’s not to love about a good enemies to lovers redemption story?!? And just loved watching their story unfold as emotions and feelings slowly changed. And shoot. If you’re a fan of plot twists then buckle up because this one is definitely twisty!!! With so many new intriguing characters coming into play, (Ferina I’m looking at you) and with so much drama and tension glares this was one that was hard to put down so I highly recommend allowing some time to devour it! And that ending?!?! Oh Taylor. I do love how you always leave us dangling on the edge!!
Overall if you’re a fan of enemies to lovers, shifter/demon romances full of sexy, dangerous and ultra possessive antiheroes all trying to claim a strong willed she-wolf—mixed in with a little case of forced proximity then this steamy RH romance is the one for you!
What a great continuation of the series. I am hooked and can’t wait to see what happens next.
This book was a great way to learn more about Malek and to learn how he became who he is today and why, however I find it a bit hard to believe that he still plans to start a war knowing how his people, his mate, and everyone else feels about it. I know he was betrayed but still don’t understand his fixation on this path.
I enjoyed the time Livy spent with Ferina and adore her personality. I also really enjoy her interactions with Malek and the obvious affection shared between siblings.
The one downfall about this book in my eyes is the absence of Chasten, Payton and Blake. Yes they pop up occasionally but as Livy’s fated mates I expected to read more about them and was abit unhappy with how often Livy thought about them. She was trying to escape them after discovering their betrayal in book 1 but it really feels like they’re background noise in this book.
Apart from that this was well written and I can’t wait to see what happens next and I’m stoked to be seeing more of Livy’s mates in the next book.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
WOW what a read! This is book 2 in this series and it picks up where book 1 ended with Livy being with the God Malek .
This story centers around Livy and Malek than with her other mates. Those mates have a time and place as they attempt to get her back but that is more background than the main storyline. Livy tries her hardest to categorize Malek as in the veil but there is no easy way and a whole lot of events to help ensure that her view on him id not so black and white. Malek cannot remember his past and attempts to have Livy recall what she knows of their past as it is intertwined. Book 1 taught us that she doesn’t remember her past life before her pack life. But the mystery of her past is revealed, and Malak is the one that reveals it. The mysterious past is finally reveled, and some answers are provided. Varcus, who is the leader of the resistance, talks to Livy about not trusting Malek and his intentions. Livy is torn on who to believe and what to do. Both sides want war, but what side will she choose?
This story has me hooked and I cannot wait to see where is goes. Don’t miss reading out on this one.
Wow Taylor Spratt you have done it again. I am absolutely loving this series and you have me absolutely hooked. Who does not love a strong independent female lead character and a truly morally grey male lead who will stop at nothing to get the woman he loves and convince her that he is the monster for her. This is the second book in the "Rejected Monster Mates" series. You must read Dark Rejection first, and beware both books finish on a cliff hanger and leave you wanting more. As with all of my recommendations please read the trigger warnings first.
This second book in the Rejected Monster Mates series starts when, Livienne aka Livy who had come to care about, Chaster, Blake, and Payton, the demi-gods who had kidnapped, emotionally tortured and awakened desires in her, in hearing them say they were responsible for the deaths of her parents, she called to the Demon God and made a deal with him. He promised Livy revenge on the 3 demi-gods. Malek the Demon God had been trying to find Livy for years. He called her Sunny he was madly in love with her. What was it about her that the Demon God loved? You will learn what is motivating Malek, and you will see how the relationship with Livy and as he calls her Sunny grows and develops. Can she get him to change his plans about taking over the Earth? Can Malek even be trusted he is the Demon God? This story with attacks, deceptions, and magic, will keep you most differently glued until the final page and smiles well you will see.
This book picks up where the first one leaves off. This is a great continuation of the first book. I was entertained with all the plot twists and emerging questions. Two things bugged me and the reason for the 4 stars. First Malek acts like he has multiple personalities. I get that he is sweet to his bride and sister, and then he a fierce demon with everyone else. What I don't get is he acts this to the extreme which makes me think there are two Maleks. I just got annoyed with it. The other thing that irritated me was Livy and in regards to her actual mates. I understand and agree with why she left but the fact that she only thinks about them maybe 3 times through the book is weird. They are supposed to be fated mates, you would think she thinks about them more. I get that she is mad at them but she doesn't even have an angry thought about them either. I guess that just bothered me. Overall can't wait for book 3.
Omg this is getting more interesting with every new book in the series, peeling away at new info that leaves us guessing ehat is true and lies.
Malek is shown to be nothing but a monster and the enemy in the first book and the three demi gods who are her mates were almost seen as heros till she learnt the truth about them.
Now in this second book we get to see a whole new side to Malek, one you could easily fall for and warm up to. But as always nothing is as it seems and we are left with another cliff hanger making us doubt Malek's intentions once again.
I really can't wait to see what happens next in book 3. What more will we learn and find out? Can we truly trust Malek, can he be saved? Can the world be saved too? Anything could happen now, as the fate of the word rests in Livy's hands. What choices will she make?
This story will not disappoint you! Give me more, please! Lol 😈
Dark Captivation is book two in the Rejected Monster Mates series, and can I just say how fun that sounds. It is just as good as the title suggests. Kept my attention from paige one to the end. I really enjoyed this one as much as the first one.
In book two we get to more meatier parts of the story with some back story, and it really felt like there was more development with the storyline. We get to see what motivates the main characters more.
These characters were well written, and I have to say that I am a sucker for men who will burn the world for their women.
There is more to the story, that I do not want to get into too much without spoilers. Just that this is an amazing series so far and I would highly recommend it. That ending though has left me needing book three stat!!
WHY?!?! JUST WHY?!?! This book continues where book 1 left off, and I just cannot get enough!
As the story unfolds, so much is revealed and you can't help but fall in love with Malek and start rooting for him against our FMC's fated mates. The book has so many mysteries, enemies, new friends and definitely steamy scenes to keep you on your toes.
As I reached the last page, I was left with a lot of WTF's?!?! How? Who? That ending has my head spinning! How does one redeem someone who has done the things he's done?! Do I really h@te Sunny's fated mates? Where is the author going to take this? I'm torn about how I feel and I'm incredibly excited to see what our author has in store for us next!
I loved how Malek and Livy try to thwart each other at every turn. They are both strong characters with definite reasons behind their opinions about the demon water to come. I thought the magical heart tattoo was a great way for them to make a deal about Livy getting a say about the pending violence. Meanwhile, Malek truly woos her like a princess, taking her for romantic outings and bringing her thoughtful gifts. Just when things were going smoothly, Varcus shows up, bringing a third perspective to the world. I enjoyed seeing that the Demigods had prepared Livy well for swordfighting and Malek and Ferina, his sister, had taught her other escape routes needed around the castle. The betrayal of the cliffhanger makes me so excited to get the next book and find out what happens next!
Book 2 is here and I couldn’t wait to jump straight into it. Just like the first one I wasn’t able to put this book down. This series is fantastic. At the end of the first book Livy finds out the three demi-gods killed her parents. So she runs and is taken by the demon god Malek . Livy makes a deal with him. If Malek fails to make Livy love him writhing 2 months he must abandon his plans for war. She thinks it will be easy to resist his charms but is finding it harder and harder. Her mates come for her but Malek is not letting them get close to her at all.m, and not letting them get in the way of making Livy fall in love with him. There is so much happening in this book that I could be here forever talking about it. Can’t wait for the next book!!
At the end of the last book Livy left with Malek after summoning him to help her get revenge on her mates after a devastating reveal. Her 3 demi god monsters don't feature much in this book although they are still there and are desperate to get her back. This book is mostly about her time with Malek, their past together, their deepening relationship and discovering why he is so intent on bringing about war. I didn't think I was going to like Malek but in a strange way I actually do after discovering more about him in this book. Plus it's so cute the way he gives Livy the pet name of Sunny, it's not the kind of thing you expect from a demon god! Another big cliffhanger at the end. I hope it isn't too long till the next book, I am totally hooked on this story!
Excellent Continuation This book grabs your attention from the get go, picking up where the first left off. Filled with twists, suspense, crazy times, and mystery! Needless to say, you won't want to stop reading till then end. Be prepared though, we are left on another cliffhanger!
Livy continues to impress me. She is a loveable FMC. We do learn a little, but we are still left wondering about Malek. 🤔 What are his secrets or what is true?!
I think this was an excellent addition to the series. We continue with new twists and turns, but still left with so many unanswered questions!!! I can't wait for book 3!!
Dark Captivation is the second book in the Rejected Monster Mates Series. It is a why choose, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, rejected mate, wolf shifter romance with possessive and dangerous monsters and a strong willed she-wolf.
Livy has been taken by Malek and her mates will stop at nothing to get her back, whether she rejected them or not.
This was such an enjoyable read. I really got caught up in the story and didn’t want to stop reading until the very last word. I loved the amazing characters, the intriguing and eventful storyline, and the developing relationships. I absolutely give this story my five stars and cannot wait for the next book.
This is book 2 in the Rejected Monster Mates Series and boy oh boy does it keep you on your toes!! You will want to read book 1 first "Dark Rejection" as this book picks up right where book 1 left off. Livy wakes in Maleks home and he is determined to make her his bride... Her Demi God mates are determined to bring her home with them and neither party is willing to back down or risk loosing Livy... but can she trust any of them?! Full of intrigue, twists, turns and suspense, this series has had me hooked from the first page of book 1 and book 2 didn't disappoint... now just to wait (not very patiently) for book three!!
