History always repeats – or does it?When a man who died eighteen years ago mysteriously appears on his doorstep, Jason knows his past has finally caught up with him.Forty years have elapsed since Jason Apsley grabbed his second chance when time-travelling back to 1976. Apart from those time-travelling calamitous events of a few decades ago, his second life has been pretty good – until now.
As the chaos ensues, Jason’s daughter, Beth, and the previous dead man face a dilemma. A time-travelling conundrum involving that nefarious Colney family. Once again, history is crying out to be changed – lives depend upon it.
If they fail – they’ll be history.
Will time repeat itself, or can Beth, like her father has many times, alter the future?

Hello ... I'm a self-confessed time-travel fan. So, unsurprisingly, my books fit into the time-travel genre. My third book, Eye of Time, will be published in October 2021. Please drop onto my website for updates.
The characters spend half the book explaining to each other what’s going on. I got to the stage where I wasn’t sure myself and the first 60 pages is full of conversation that could be chopped by at least half. It’s a shame as I loved the earlier books. No more for me sometimes a series goes on too long.
It's not nearly as good as the previous books in the series. This one is narrated by Beth, not Jason, and it doesn't work as well. She is quite irritating. It did get better towards the end, trying up some loose threads so it's got a 3 rather 2*, but I think the series would have been better ending at Book 4
Pile of tosh! So disappointed with this time travel series. It started off great and has got worse with each subsequent book. Convoluted with different timelines and characters that it’s just a hot mess of nonsense. The language is usually non flowery clear and simple and then every now and then the author throws in a random long descriptive word that’s he’s just found in his thesaurus - which is really jarring and doesn’t fit with the style at all. I also have a real issue with the way some of the female characters are written. Women, in general (not always of course), just do not use the terms ‘tart’ and ‘bellend’ to insult men. Really weird terminology!
I enjoy Adrian’s books and have read them all. Having read this one, I feel that it was a little lacklustre compared to the others. There seemed to be a lot of going around the houses and certain situations repeated almost as if filling space which made me feel like saying “get on with it!” It was an enjoyable read and I will read the next release but felt this one didn’t hit the spot for me.
Final book in the Jason Apsley time travel series (although I somehow think that the author may be publishing another one - but it’s quite possible that I’ve got this wrong!). I’ve really enjoyed reading this and the preceding books in this series. I did feel Beth’s in my opinion over use of her word ‘f***errododa’ to be extremely annoying and distracting - hence the 4 stars. The narrative and story are brilliant and gripping despite this. A really great read.
Once again a brilliant story. I was surprised how quickly I was able to get back into this after reading previous books. I m so glad there is to be another book as be interesting to see if Beth returns to the future to be with her son. Still think this should be made into a tv series love the comedy and references to the things in the past..
I have now read all the Jason Apsley and Diana books and enjoyed them immensely. Although I found this the hardest one to follow, timeline wise (Don’t ask which timeline 😊), it was still a good yarn with plenty of humour. I await this years addition to this time travel series, assuming it will be a cracker as well.
Quite possibly my favourite author that still draws breath. Long may he continue to do so. A great series of books that I’m planning on re-reading again immediately. I don’t think I could pay a higher compliment to an author
A lighthearted and funny caper to close out the series. It's great to catch up with the familiar characters whilst becoming enamoured with the new. I honestly cannot wait to read more and to revisit this world again in the future.
Have read all the prior Apsley books and enjoyed them. This not so much. Not sure why, perhaps Beth's talking nonsense got on my nerves, or the constant swearing! Anyway good to catch up with the story.
I've read all of Adrians books and I don't think I've ever given him anything less than 5 stars and "Borrowed Time" is no exception. Beth has become a vital part of this series, and I loved every minute of it, reading well into the night. Adrian my friend, I'm quite happy that you keep me bleary eyed and you can do that as long as you want. Just keep on doing what you're doing, and I'll keep reading it.
