Kind Brothers #18

Thirteen of a Kind

Rate this book
Before she passed away, my mother's final words to me were an apology, pleading for my forgiveness. I was puzzled until, after her death, I received a letter that revealed everything. Amidst my grief, I learned the truth about my biological father and the existence of six siblings in Venice, California—a revelation after twenty-nine years of believing I was an only child.

After careful consideration and curiosity, I sold my mother’s home and my shares in her company. I left Connecticut and moved to California to check out this newfound family of mine. Every move I made was calculated. After all, I couldn’t just pop in and announce I was their long-lost sister. I would watch them, study them, and when the time was right, they’d know exactly who I was.

Just when I thought life couldn’t throw me any more curveballs, I met Dr. Nick Russo, a ruggedly handsome doctor and good friend of Dr. Christian Kind. He was sexy in more ways than one whose heart had been broken as mine once was. He shook my world, unraveling emotions I’d long buried.

Everything happened too fast. I was navigating a new city, family, and a man slowly stealing my heart—a heart I wasn’t willing to give so easily.

What a twist! I was not expecting another surprise Kind sibling, especially a girl, and Sandi Lynn delivered! After the death of her mother, Claire was given the true identity of her father, and the information that she has six siblings in California, and she decides that she needs to meet the only family she has left and orchestrates a move to town. Keeping a low profile at first, she inserts herself in her siblings’ businesses as a way to develop recon to get to know them, and during that she meets Nick, who is actually a good friend of the family, unbeknownst to her. They find out they live next door to each other, and it becomes a match made in heaven, because Claire doesn’t do repeats or sleepovers, while Nick is finally interested in letting a woman in after the disaster that was his last relationship. When Nick finds out Claire’s true identity though, it risks their relationship and my heart truly broke for both of them, but thankfully the family gets involved and the brothers are quite protective of their sister and her happiness. I absolutely loved this storyline and these characters, and while death initially caused this, I loved how powerful Claire is as a character and how great she acclimated to the family. I can’t wait for the next installment, even though it means the end!

Thirteen of a Kind- Nick & Claire

Claire is about to have a shock of a lifetime. When her mom passes away, Claire is left a letter that will change her life forever.

Nick, an ED doctor, moved when his friend Christian Kind offered him a job. He had just been burned by a relationship and needed a new start.

Overall, I love this series and the Kind family. Another great addition. I will say the drama argument was a bit ridic but I still love this whole series.

I LOVE this series and the Kind family — it’s phenomenal with so many great characters. It’s so enjoyable to spend time with them that I’m very sorry the next book will be the last.

While I’d still recommend reading this book because it’s part of an remarkably re-readable series, I didn’t care for the FMC Claire at all. Just not likable. She was hard, phony, smug, and manipulative. She didn’t truly seem to care about the Hero’s feelings. Why the MMC Nick fell in love with her was a mystery because she was cold and lied to him constantly.

She was so busy being a hard-a** and narcissistic control freak throughout the story, it was hard to find her sympathetic. The furniture shopping scene was cringe, and him finding it “adorable” shows love (or lust) is blind. She would ask her brothers for advice and then follow none of it. Nick was good; he deserved better.

The only positive is when she tried again to explain her actions to Nick. I applaud her for that effort.

It wasn’t… bad… by any means… but the main appeal is the other characters and plots. She’s awful but the others deserve a 5. The brothers and cousins in this one shine. Would’ve liked to have seen more of them, but the story was rushed simply to cover so much ground.

Amazing

Sandi this family never ceases to amaze me I love them I will be sad to see them go after the next book.

29 years ago Henry Kind had an affair with a lady called Genevieve in Paris and this resulted in her getting pregnant. Just before she gave birth she went to track him down she did but she never told him because Barb intercepted her and paid her off and never to return. She had a little girl and called her Claire. When Claire was 2 years old they moved to the US.

Claire’s mother passed away and left her a letter stating that Henry Kind was her father and she had six other siblings this has resulted in Claire moving from Connecticut to LA the meet her brothers and sister.

Claire is anti relationship just like her brothers but on the way to LA she meets a handsome ER doctor Nick Russo and it turns out he is a friend of her cousin Christian.

Claire got to meet all her brothers but of course they didn’t know of her existence. Shaun was the first brother to know about her but then Simon found out too but they realized that Barb was the only person who knew about her and told her to stay away and leave LA and never return. When Simon found out his mother knew about Claire he blew a fuse.

There is so much more of this book I could tell but I don’t want to ruin it. All I can say it’s a page turner.

This is Nick and Claire's story. There seems to be a bit of a disconnect between the love story and the family story.

The family story was well written and fast paced. It does seem that the family has gotten so big that many family members don't appear in the story, That's understandable but sad. You don't get to see how relationships have changed. The story was fast paced basically because everyone's gotten so used to long lost family members popping up. In a way, Claire's story was extremely similar to Shaun's. It was good to see the overprotectiveness the boys showed.

The love story was extremely rushed at the beginning and without any real connection. Once it came out that Claire was a Kind, the story between Nick and Claire fell into place. They both had issues which were brought forward and addressed. They weren't completely happily ever after but were able to work through those issues without a knock down drag out fight. The issue I had was the hook ups before they realized Claire was a Kind. The first one went along with the story line but afterwards they never really made since. There didn't seem to be a real connection. Hence the disconnect.

The next is Ella's book and hopefully we'll get a glimpse into the relationships of long-lost children and their parents. Read via Kindle Unlimited and am voluntarily leaving a review.

🚨This may have spoilers.

I freaking adore this book. I was so happy that a long lost sibling was a finally a women. We saw how the brothers reacted when Shawn came too. But we know that the boys have a younger sister but not a grown adult sister. It was funny that Ella already knew before the boys and of course Barb when Claire told Barb who is was. I was happy that Shawn was the first one to know since he was in the same spot has Claire. At first I really like Nick. But he shouldn't have gotten all butt hurt. He did not give her time to handle the whole new family and even that was going on with her new life. It was kinda shitty that he put Claire and his ex in the same category. Plus he only knew her for what a few weeks before he was all I am in love. So I was happy that her brothers and cousins came and had that talk with Nick. I was so happy that Barb came and told Sam that it wasn't her fault but their fathers. But over all I really loved this book it might not be at Ava and Grayson. But it's close call. 💜

Just love this series, Sandi knows how to keep you gripped from the beginning.

Loved Claire & Nicks story 😍

Claire finds out that her mom has been lying to her all her life, after she reads a letter that she has left her when she passes away,  this has turned her world upside down and has some big decisions to make, Finding out she has a whole family out there and is not the only child she thought she was.
While on a journey of finding out who her family are she meets Dr Nick Russo, a good friend of Christian Kind who has moved to California to make a fresh start.
Everything is happening all at once discovering a new family, moving to a new city, and finding someone she thought would be nothing but a casual fling but is slowly stealing her heart.

This series is a must-read, loved Claire, and she makes a fantastic addition to the Kind Family 😍

This is a good easy read, I read it in 48 hrs. Continuing the Kind Brothers series with another addition to the family. 29 year old Claire is left a letter on her mother’s deathbed, details of who her father is and her birth certificate. She sets off to California to find her family.

When she arrives Claire meets Dr Nick Russo a friend of her brothers, she doesn’t tell him why she’s in town. One by one Claire bumps into the Kind family and eventually she tells them who she is.

Romance in the book is her relationship with Nick, he falls for her. Although with such a big secret it doesn’t go smoothly.

If you love the series you’ll enjoy this, Barb is once again in the middle of the secrets and lies, IYKYK.

I’ve given this 4 * as I feel its not as good a story as the previous books.

A wonderful read

All the previous books are about the Kind brothers, I'm so pleased that we have a sister to add to the mix.
Henry Kind has produced 6winners offspring, some he knew about but Claire was a secret he never found out about. Claire herself didn't find out until after her mother's passing. She packed up her life and moved to find her long lost, unknown family.
Claire meets a lovely guy, Dr Nick Russo at a bar, the best friend of Christian Kind, unbeknown to Claire at the time. This is where Claire and Nicks story begins. Will she find her new family, will they accept her when they find out who she is, will her and Nick become more than just friends?
I don't do spoilers so you'll have to trust me when I say, this book is an interesting addition to the Kind series.
I can't wait for the last book. Xx

Well…Sandi Lynn is just full of surprises and what a wonderful and delightful surprise Claire is! Each and every single book in this amazing and cleverly written series has been a pleasure to read and Thirteen Of A Kind (Kind Brothers #18) is that and SO much more!

No doubt it, Claire is definitely a “Kind” when it comes to relationships however, when she meets the very sexy and charming Dr. Nick Russo, things just may change. I also love how the Kind brothers embrace Claire and they are quite hilarious and entertaining when it comes to their brotherly roles. This book is full of tender, heartfelt and endearing moments and I definitely recommend reading it.

A must read series. Each book gets better

Henry Kind does it again. This time the Kind brothers find out they have a grown sister. Claire never knew who her father was until her mother dies and she decides to find her family. The brothers doubt her at first, but Shaun reminds them that his circumstance was the same. She meets her neighbor Dr Nick Russo and they are perfect for each other. I love the way her brothers become so protective of her. Sandi Lynn has written such a great series t hate to see it come to an end. This series is a must read, each brother has a great story and the whole family is bonded by the love they feel for each other.

Nick and Claire

My first impression of Claire wasn't good, I thought she was being too secretive and a little shady.

With that being said, as the story progressed I liked her more. I liked how, after the initial shock and disbelief from her brothers, she fit right in.

Nick is a freaking sweetheart, love him. I think he was the perfect match for Claire, both have been betrayed in the past but trying to keep an open mind until a perceived lie had Nick questioning his decision to open his heart again. It did take awhile but eventually they worked on their relationship and came out stronger for it.

Sad that this is the last book but I am looking forward to Ellie's book!!!

Family

I just finished book Thirteen of the Kind Brothers, and I should not be surprised that Henry Kind had another kid out there. Claire is just like her brothers with the player ways like they all were before they found their forever. It seems that Ella has a sixth sense about who is a kind. Nick and Claire had both been hurt before and don't trust easily, so when she didn't tell him about her brothers, he felt he had been betrayed again by another woman. But they found their through it with the help of her brothers talking some sense into him to find their happy ending. Can't wait for Ella book.

Another Kind sibling. A sister this time. She’s hardened by life and love. Finds out after her mother’s death about the Kind family and her siblings. And her despicable sperm donor.
Dr Nick Russo is a trusted friend of the Kind family. He meets Claire by chance. He, too, has been unlucky in love and wants no parts of it. And then, there is Claire.
Not much drama here. Not much story. Lots of catching up with all the family.
I do really like how close the entire family is.
But, and I say this with utmost respect, the series is getting stale. I will read about Dr Ella Kind, child genius. But I’m hoping that’s the end.

Wonderful

Absolutely fell in love with Nick and Claire from the onset.
Loved that Claire moved to find her Family that she was unaware existed but for her Mothers letter which she received after her Mum died. Loved that Nick was forthcoming when he saw her at the bar the first time.
Have loved this series and will be sad when it finishes.
Loved the storyline between Claire and Nick and loved the connection between them from the get go.
Their chemistry was off the charts and sizzling from the beginning.
Well worth reading this book you won't be disappointed.

This book was so predictable. The minute you find out that he has trust issues, you just knew he was going to throw a fit that she didn't tell him. Which when you really think about it why did he expect her to tell him. They weren't in a relationship. They were sleeping with each other. They hadn't said they were exclusive.
Then when Claire tried to talk to him and he blew her off should have been it. NOPE, she forgives him to easily after the way he acted he should have been made to grovel for a bit.

Another spectacular and unforgettable read

The Kinds are a one of a kind family. When Claire's mom passes away and she reads a letter she's left her, her world turns upside down. She moves to California and there she meets Nick, who happens to be friends with her siblings, whom she still hasn't met. While life reality unfolds, Nick and Claire's feelings grow strong, up to their unavoidable HEA. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This book was wonderful. The writing was fantastic and the storyline flowed smoothly. It had the perfect amount of intrigue to keep you turning the pages. Watching the relationship between Nick and Claire develop from casual to something more was done perfectly. Two people who had been hurt by love finally find love together. The ending was spot on, and the message of family was the best! Love this series. Definitely 5 stars.

Thirteen Of A Kind hits me in the feelings. An amazing story about loss, grief, forgiveness, letting go of the past and d embracing the future. Claire and Nick’s relationship is a bit complicated in the beginning but as the story develops readers get to see why they’re the way they are. Nick is the perfect match for Claire as he too had unresolved issues in his past. Sandi Lynn writes a story that gets me engrossed in the words as I turn the pages. Another beautiful and unique story.

This book was one of the most emotional in the Kind series. Everything that was a big surprise at first becomes the key to the Kind family's capacity for empathy and open hearts, which are pure generosity and brotherhood. Claire definitely has this very specific DNA and Nick is heart. I loved this book, the whole series is worth reading and re-reading. Enjoy this book of pure twist. As always, I love author Sandi Lynn's stories.

The plot in itself was okay but I really didn’t like the writing style. It was too superficial with too many insignificant details like descriptions of food that didn’t matter. It also jumped too much in time and space. And the cherry on top: the main characters were basically just fuck buddies that suddenly loved each other. Not very believable. + there were more focus on the heroine’s family and the things they had to deal with than a love story.

This series has been fantastic..
Loved this one. The kind family continues to grow.
Claire Monet discovers she has a family she knew nothing about until her mum passes with an apology, and she reads a letter left behind.

Claire sets a plan in motion to learn about this family, but she never banked on meeting Dr Nick Russo.. The chemistry is instant, but secret has a way of being discovered.

Twists and turns aplenty in this offering.
Great read for escapism.

Claire is a wonderful addition to the Kind clan, I especially loved the comparisons between her and her brothers and cousins. I sincerely hope that everyone that reads it enjoys it as much as I did. I give this book 5 stars 🌟

A female Kind sibling to join the family. When Claire’s mother dies she leaves her a letter letting her know about her biological father. She finds out she has a whole family in California and decides to move there to start over. She has some ups and downs along the way but another fantastic Kind family story.
