Henry Donaldson, fish shop owner, Mr Average, and smitten beyond words has fantasied about Raphael since the day he strode into 'Oh My Cod' six years ago.
Raphael is anything but average. He’s tall, dark and handsome, ten years Henry’s senior, and disappears for months at a time thanks to his mysterious job.
Fed up of waiting for something to happen between them, Henry, with the encouragement of his new friend/pain in the arse, Clyde, finally tells Raphael how he feels.
Will Henry's feelings be reciprocated?
What is Raphael’s profession?
And where did Clyde find that extremely priceless Fabergé egg?
All will be revealed…. except the egg, that’s a secret for another time...
- Age Gap (10yrs) - First Times - Mutual Pining - Fish Shop Owner/Spy - New Best Friend
This is a short and funny read where poor "Baby Gay" Henry (as Clyde calls him) just can't move his crush forward with the mysterious Raphael. It's been six years since they met and they haven't really gotten past the same conversation they have during every visit. Each time Raphael walks in with his dreamboat self, Henry's brain just kind of seizes and he says the most random stuff that is embarrassing but he can't take back, just silly. One day Clyde, the antique shop owner, befriends Henry after watching one of these interactions and decides to help give Raphael a push. I was crying laughing during "the plan" and Clyde is one of my new favorite people so I need to see if he has his own book so I can definitely read that beauty.
You get pining, banter, suspense, steam, kidnapping, and friendly saves. Overall, it was a fun read and only wished it was longer to get more of the couple together and maneuvering the time they spend apart for Raphael's job.

So darn cute! Any story that has me bursting out laughing while eating cooked spinach was worth the clean up! Raphael, such a dreamboat; Henry, a hilarious sweetie. Clyde was like a funny and dirty talking fairy godfather. The dialogue sparkled. The Yates cameo was great. The weirdness of some characters and scenes reminded me of the same in the ‘Flowershop Assassins’ and the ‘Bakery Brothers’ series. You just have to roll with it! A nice bonus freebie from the author. Thank you!
This was short, cute, silly, and perfect for a quick read. I finished it during my lunch break, giving me a much needed laugh. Henry (Baby Gay) owns a fish shop, Oh My Cod, which doesn't sell fish and chips but exotic pet fish. He has been pining for Raphael, the mysterious, handsome man who has been visiting the shop for 6 years when Henry's grandfather was still alive.
Clyde, the antique shop owner and Henry's new best friend really needs his own story stat.
This reminds me of Spy starring Melissa McCarthy, Jason Stratham, and Jude Law, which I thoroughly enjoyed watching and lets say Oh My Cod is very similar to that.
I hope Louise Collins keeps this Flowershop universe going. This whole series had been wacky to the max and I just love it.
I loved this book so much. I laughed so hard, I could not put this down. My favorite character is Clude, I need him to be my best friend. I always love cameos of side characters and the intro to new businesses in this crazy street. I highly recommend this book, its too good to pass up.
A rather odd but compelling little tale, it makes you want to grab Henry and cuddle him while you smack Raphael up side his head. It's different I'll say that.
A quirky short story about a tropical fish store owner and his long-time crush, Raphael. There are some hilarious conversations between Clyde, the owner of 'Junk' and the not so worldly-wise Henry who Clyde nicknames 'Baby Gay' much the Henry's initial annoyance.
For a short read, a lot of things happen - although the story and it's characters could be revisited in the future for a longer book, should the author so wish!
Finally, talking of characters, Clyde certainly needs his own story, especially now he's set his eyes on that ginger bear of a man, Ryker - in an enemies to lovers storyline with lots of raunchy, when and wherever you need sex!! PS: I also need to find out how Clyde got his hands on that Faberge Easter Egg...

Lol I don't know how to share my favorite moments without spoiling things, but just know that I laughed and thoroughly enjoyed this. Henry was so adorable and sweet. Raphael was tall, dark, and mysterious, obviously reciprocating Henry's crush but trying to keep his distance. I wanted to flick him between the eyes a time or two but his reluctance to commit made perfect sense once he opened up. Clyde was also a ton of fun and added a lot of humor, hopefully we see more of him sometime!
