Spritzige Dialoge, große Gefühle und ganz viel Liebe – Die »The Maxwells«-Reihe bietet alles, was das Herz
No falla.

Ok so this wasn’t terrible, but a lot of things irked me.
First of all, the H didn’t try hard enough (he didn’t try at all actually) to get in contact with the h after their weekend together. She had to reach out to him, and while he claimed he thought about her…his pov didn’t show that at all. Literally he thought about her maybe once and that was it before he saw her again.
Second of all, I got over the first irritation of him not thinking about her and got into it a little more. But then it seemed like the author just got tired of writing this book and quit with a HUGEEEE info dump at chapter 30. Why did we just skip over so much????? We suddenly skip to 2 months later and we’re told that we know the gender of the baby, she moved in with him, they handled the press, made a statement about their relationship, she deleted her socials, and they handled her mom and had a teary phone call….like what?!?! A big point of contention in their relationship was that she didn’t feel ready to move in with him bc she was scared, and then all of the sudden chapter 30 rolls around and the h is like “oh yeah I moved in with him finally”….like what??? When did this happen bc I didn’t see it. And then we know her mom made a big fuss with the press, and in this chapter two months later, the h is like “ we handlers my mom and had a teary conversation and it’s all ok now, and we gandered the press” HUH!?! And we’re also info dumped the baby’s gender. “We have tons of clothes and we’re having cake for our baby shower, we found out we’re having a girl”…😐this is a book about them coming together because of the pregnancy, so why are we missing big pregnancy bonding moments?
The info dump at the end where the author seemed to give up just really disappointed me. If not for that I would’ve rated it 4 stars because the rest wasn’t awful

Another swoony romance from Layla Hagen, and this time one of my favorite tropes, one I’ve not seen her write often. Love Me Forever was the perfect escape- a fast, sexy, super sweet, and all the feel good butterflies. Amazing characters, a heartfelt story, meaningful chemistry, and a story that has me grinning from ear to ear with the perfect mixture of heart, humor, and heat.
I loved watching Travis and Bonnie fall into each other, as their weeklong fling turns into something more than either of them expected, but clearly something that was meant to be. While Travis might not think he’s meant to be in a relationship, he sure turns out to be a swoony book boyfriend. And while their relationship might not go in quite the “traditional” order of operations, I adore how their surprise baby twist inspires them to explore their stellar chemistry, to open up to each other. As I love in a surprise baby romance, we get all the bun-in-the-oven landmark moments that I long for, and we also have a great cast of supporting secondary characters and the family dynamic that always permeates the Layla series- we even get to check in with some prior characters we know and love.
All in all, a charming and heartfelt romance that sweeps you away from the always endearing Layla Hagen.
One thing Travis never saw coming was Bonnie and the way he was captivated by the beautiful girl he meets on a small island where he arrived to conduct business. They spent their week together thinking that that was it but life has other plans in store.
Bonnie was swept off her feet by Travis. He was doing everything right; from the way he treated her to the way he loved her. Her solution to their problem by being just friends and his refusal, quickly turns out to be everything she never knew she needed. I absolutely love his family. They were all supportive, helpful and loving. Everyone deserves a family like that to stand by your side.
This story started out strong and it kept in delivering right up till I read the words THE END and I couldn't be happier about it.

This was absolutely love at first sight for me! I was instantly obsessed with these characters, and their story. I knew right away that I was going to cheer on both Travis and Bonnie as they navigated this new, unexpected life together. I was smitten from chapter four! Right off the bat, she was sassy and he was gutsy. And we were all in agreement that it was lovely! They didn’t technically have a meet cute, but it was super cute how the universe kept bringing them together! Travis was only planning on being in California for a week, so where’s the harm in having a little fun with Bonnie while he’s there? And that’s when I truly started to love Travis. Their first sex scene was definitely a 10/10. Not because it was that spicy, but because he was the ideal realistic man. Thoughtful, selfless, knew to say all the right things, and do all the right things. And it was like that every single time! Travis never let anything come between him and the way he felt about Bonnie. Nothing ever got in the way of making sure she knew she was a top priority for him. Travis was possessive and protective, and I am SO glad that Bonnie loved it as much as I did and that it didn’t cause any issues between them! Travis’s family felt like main characters, never side characters. And it truly warmed my heart knowing how supportive they were. But Grandma Beatrice was definitely my favorite! Their instant love and affection for Bonnie made my heart do all kinds of funny things.
My Favorite Quotes: • “If I stay, I'm going to make you mine. If I stay, I'm going to make you come." • “You're fucking gorgeous. I'm going to explore every inch of you. Every. Fucking. Inch." • “I want to see you. I want to memorize everything about you tonight. You're exquisite." • “Last night was just a taste. I want more. I want all of you." • “I don't know what it's like to not want you anymore." • “I told you there isn't anything I wouldn't do for you, and I meant it." • “I love you: every quality, every flaw. Everything is part of you, and that's why I love you."
8/10 Dirty Birdy 7/10 Friends to Lovers 8/10 The CEO Type 9/10 Series
I loved Travis &. Bonnie’s story. Bonnie was so strong. I loved her character. Her history made trust hard. She had no chance of getting away from the Maxwells though. Travis’ family welcomed her. I love steamy romance, and this one was great! Between Paisley and Gran, no one escapes this family. The ending was perfect.
After that ending in the last book, I couldn't wait to read this one and Layla Hagen, didn't disappoint.
Travis is opening up a new hotel, but he wants the best working for him, which leads him to Oceanwell, and while there he meets the h, Bonnie and these two have an instant connection and a few spicy moments. But when Travis leaves he hopes that they can reconnect in Chicago, he just never realizes the way that it will happen.
Bonnie, hasn't had the best support from her family. Her parents simply just don't care and her mother (is just conniving). But when she meets Travis, she doesn't want their time together to end, but she never expects to enter his life again, when she finds out she's pregnant. Travis and Bonnie's connection was instant, and when he found out she was pregnant, this guy was just...amazing!!! He was there for her every step of the way...and he just fell in love with her even more. The moments the H and h had and the way they fell in love was perfection, and I loved every second of it.
𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 The Maxwell brothers, parents, gran and Resse and Kimberly are just amazing. Can't wait to read Sam's book!!!
Travis & Bonnie meet on a business trip, and from that moment, the sparks are flying, so they decide to have fun setting the sheets on fire for that week. They go their separate ways, but then there was some blue lines on a test, so things definitely took a turn. She tries to get ahold of him but that didn't happen so instead of giving up, she hunted him down because it was the right thing to do, and what followed was the best thing to ever happen to them. I'm not saying it was easy, it wasn't since Bonnie wanted to co-parent while Travis wanted it all so there were a couple of setbacks LOL! Luckily, Travis' family won't stand back, nope, these amazing people will make sure that things work out for these two in quite hilarious ways with a kicker of super sweet. This story is filled with Layla Hagen's signature heart & soul that left a big smile on my face, and I just didn't want it to end! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Love me Forever was another wonderful addition to The Maxwell Brothers Series and Travis’ story was everything I had hoped for him.
When Travis meets Bonnie on a business trip to Southern California there is an instant attraction and both decide to act upon it for the week that they are together. What ensues is a passionate, no strings attached fling with consequences neither anticipated.
When Bonnie finds out she is pregnant she returns to her hometown of Chicago and is unsuccessful at first in getting hold of Travis to let him know about the pregnancy. She feels it is his right to know even though both were not looking for a relationship, it was just a once off fling.
What transpires is a sweet and heartfelt friends to lovers romance where the Maxwell family unite in ensuring Travis and Bonnie get their HEA. An enjoyable read with no angst and lots of love and good feelings and of course chemistry that was palpable.
Although it was business that brought Travis to California once he meets Bonnie, he is more than willing to be distracted by her. They spend a romantic week together before it is time to return to their regular lives in Chicago.
Bonnie hasn’t forgotten about the time she spent with Travis even if it seems he has forgotten about her. When she finds out they are about to become parents she is determined that at least he will know but she wasn’t expecting that he wanted to play a large part not only in their baby’s life but hers as well.
Bonnie is cautious as she has never known what love feels like while Travis has always known the support and love of his family. I enjoyed every minute of their romance as they realize that the baby may have brought them back together but that is not what is keeping them together.
From the first page, I was totally swept up in Travis and Bonnie’s romance. I loved how their relationship began with playful, witty banter laced with sexual tension. Layla Hagen always gives her readers a well-written, well-developed witty and sexy story, so it was no surprise that Love Me Forever was all of that—and then some. What began as a flirty, teasing relationship grows into so much more.
Love Me Forever was heartwarming, heart-healing and full of all the hope, passion and emotion I hope for from a highly anticipated contemporary romance. Another fantastic story in the Maxwell Brother’s series.
Travis & Bonnie’s Steamy Accidental Pregnancy Romance Is A Great Addition To The Series! The Maxwell Family Drama Brews In The Background Of This Book, Making It A Rich Read For Fans Of The Family-Centered Series.
This is the fifth book in The Maxwell Brothers series about the Maxwell family of Chicago. ABOUT THE MAXWELL FAMILY:
The legendary Maxwell family is known for the famous bookstores they once owned. As the series opens, it was ten years ago that those stores were sold off as the next generation went off to pursue their own dreams. Though each of the Maxwell kids received a trust fund from the proceeds of the sale, their sense of hard work kept them from becoming lazy.
Emmett and Lena Maxwell are enjoying their retirement now, but they worked hard as they raised their six boys. Beatrice, Emmett’s mother, had lost her husband years earlier, and she stepped in to help with the task of raising the children. Still, family dinner was always an important event for the entire family. Emmett’s younger brother Harvey had worked for the family business as well. Though retired in London now, he had turned to work to nurse his broken heart after his wife died, frequently traveling abroad. In his absence, his two daughters were left with Emmett and Lena as they grew up, adding to their large household. The family is very tight-knit. There is plenty of ribbing, but there is also an abundance of love and support.
Declan is the oldest Maxwell brother. He has a take-charge personality and a practical approach to life. He is a successful attorney.
Luke is second in birth order and three years younger. He is Declan’s opposite, always trying to cause trouble. He enjoys being a ringleader in his efforts to sow chaos. Luke is closest in age to their cousins, Kimberly and Reese. He owns his own architecture company.
Tate is the third oldest. Like Declan, his mother considered him a “trusted general.” He developed a love of wine as he grew up – something that he and his father had bonded over. Today he is CEO of Maxwell Wineries, headquartered in Chicago. He is skilled as a businessman, but his people skills, in general, aren’t as sharp. He is the single dad of nine-year-old Paisley, a badge he wears with honors, but it comes with scars.
Tyler comes next, and he lives for hockey. He plays goalie for the Stanley Cup-winning Chicago Blades. He has summers off but is busy much of the rest of the year. He enjoys getting rowdy and believes in trying everything once.
Travis is fearless and independent. He is celebrating the success of his startup, seeing all his hard work finally pay off. His personal life takes a backseat to work; he hasn’t had time for anything more than one-night stands for the past three years. He sometimes gets into trouble, but he is also there to offer a helping hand when needed.
Sam is sometimes quieter than his brothers, but he has a rowdy side as well. He works abroad for Doctors Without Borders.
Three of the brothers keep offices in the same downtown Chicago building, making it easy to grab a drink together after work. Sam and Tyler travel for work but visit whenever they can.
Kimberly, their cousin, lives overseas in Paris.
Reese, Kimberly’s sister, lives in Chicago and is nursing a broken heart. She always enjoyed spending time in the family bookstores growing up and is happy to begin working in their only remaining bookstore – the flagship store that started it all. Their Gran had kept the solitary store for sentimental reasons.
To date, The Maxwell Brothers series includes: 1. Promise Me Forever (Tate & Lexi’s story) 2. Hold Me Forever (Tyler & Kendra’s story) 3. Show Me Forever (Declan & Liz’s story) 4. Kiss Me Forever (Luke & Megan’s story) 5. Love Me Forever (Travis & Bonnie’s story) 6. To be determined (probably Sam & Avery’s story) FROM PROMISE ME FOREVER, BOOK 1:
This book opens as summer break commences for nine-year-old Paisley.
Tate Maxwell, thirty-four, is the CEO of Maxwell Wineries. The company is his passion, but his daughter Paisley will always be his number one priority. He got married just over ten years ago right after college. He was young and naïve, believed he and Nora were in love, but he eventually discovered that had all been an illusion. Nora had given birth to Paisley almost ten years ago, but modeling had been her true love. Tate was left to raise Paisley alone, and though there might be no love lost, the failure of his marriage weighs on him. He wants the world for his daughter, and he punishes himself for the fact that she barely has a mother, save for one or two visits each year. As the summertime nannies come and go over the years, he realizes he needs something more stable for Paisley for the daytime house while he is at work – a female figure that can serve as a constant in her life. He turns to an agency to help find the perfect nanny – one that can continue on beyond the end of summer break.
Wow! Tate and Lexi sizzle in this single dad and nanny romance. Their sweet and sexy story is infused with a keen sense of family and loyalty. The Maxwell family of Chicago is introduced here; watch for more to come. Readers get immersed in the Chicago setting – downtown, the lakefront, Lincoln Park, etc. The story is wonderfully written. The plot is fairly simple as it pertains to Tate and Lexi. The story is character-driven, and there are a number of characters, each with their own stories spinning in the background. Collectively, there is a lot happening. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Tate and Lexi. I rate this book five stars. FROM HOLD ME FOREVER, BOOK 2:
This book opens in early October, about one month after Travis sold his startup. Tate is engaged to Lexi, and Tate’s daughter Paisley is now ten.
Tyler Maxwell, thirty-one, lives for hockey and family. He is the fourth of six boys, and his family is very tight. Tyler doesn’t have time for relationships because his career is just too demanding. At his age, he is lucky to still be playing, but the fact that he is the best goalie in the league helps. He is signed with the Chicago Blades, but for now, he is benched. Tyler doesn’t regret standing up for his cousin Reese last month, but her ex-fiancé not only injured him, but Malcolm also staged it all on video to get the maximum damage. The video had gone viral, and the Blades’ management isn’t happy about it – the video was bad for their image and turned off sponsors. Tyler would be off the ice anyways due to his shoulder injury, and he takes it all in stride. He is excited about the volunteer work that management has set up for him in the meantime to improve his image. Coaching underprivileged pre-teens is right up his alley – he is comfortable with kids thanks to all the time he has spent with his niece Paisley. Teaching kids to play hockey, and absorbing all their energy, should prove to be fun.
Tyler and Kendra’s steamy hockey romance sizzles. It is another great story about the tight-knit Maxwell family. The Maxwells are vibrant and alive with history and controversy – watch for more to come. The story is nicely written, although it sometimes dwells a little too much on the minutia. The plot is fairly simple. The characters feel real. They are three-dimension and easy to connect with. The story is told in first person. The POV alternates between Tyler and Kendra. I rate this book four stars. FROM SHOW ME FOREVER, BOOK 3:
This book opens in April in Chicago. Tate’s daughter Paisley is still ten. Both Tate and Tyler are now engaged.
Declan Maxwell, thirty-eight, works hard to maintain his reputation as the best divorce attorney in Chicago and beyond, so he values his downtime. The long hours devoted to the job during the week are rewarded with his strict no-work policy on the weekends. The oldest of six boys, he has a take-charge attitude and a pragmatic outlook. The serious-minded attorney credits his family for keeping him grounded. His parents’ marriage has happily withstood the test of time, but their example, in Declan’s experience, is more an exception than a rule. Declan doesn’t see himself ever settling down. He hasn’t ever felt compelled to introduce a woman to his family. He dates casually, but relationships are not for him.
Declan and Liz’s sweet and steamy story is about family and following your dreams. The Maxwell family saga continues in the background as Declan finds himself wanting things he never desired before. He falls fast and hard for Liz, whose work ethic and determination impress him. They share a love of family, and Declan’s steadfast support has Liz swooning. The story is nicely written. The plot is somewhat simple. The characters are nicely developed. The story is told in first person. The POV alternates between Declan and Liz. I rate this book four stars. FROM KISS ME FOREVER, BOOK 4:
As the story opens, it is July in Chicago. Paisley’s eleventh birthday approaches. Just over one year has passed since Tate and Lexi met in book one. Note that in Show Me Forever, book three, Megan is introduced with the last name Holmes, not Pierce.
Luke Maxwell, thirty-five, loves his life. He could live off of his trust fund and party every day, but he always wanted to make his own way. His ingrained work ethic combined with his love of buildings led him into architecture. Today his name is well-known in the field, and he owns Supreme Architecture, one of the best architecture firms in the country. He houses his firm in the same downtown building that hosts some of his brothers. Declan, Tate, and Travis have offices in the La Salle Street building, too, and the brothers all enjoy gathering for an impromptu coffee by day or an evening drink at the rooftop bar. Luke loves the city, and his penthouse affords him some beautiful views. He works hard during the week, but his weekends are for downtime. For years he has avoided relationships, having been burned when he fell hard and fast for Cammy when they were both too young, but he enjoys hookups and casual dates. He always has time for family, though. Luke is known as the troublemaker, the crazy ringleader that Tyler, Travis, and Sam followed growing up. As a boss, Luke is relaxed, but when presenting to a client, he transforms into a commanding and confident professional. Women find his confidence and charm hard to resist.
Luke and Megan’s workplace age gap romance is a sweet and sexy read. Their one-night stand as strangers turns into a workplace fiasco when it is discovered that Luke is her new boss. The Maxwell family drama continues in the background as the couple falls in love. Megan catches the playboy’s attention, and he has her breaking her rules. The story is nicely written. The plot is fairly simple. The characters are nicely developed. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Luke and Megan. I rate this book four stars. IN THIS BOOK:
Travis’s story with Bonnie actually gets a brief introduction in book four when it overlaps with Luke’s story, but nothing is lost if you haven’t read the previous book in the series. The brief preview ends with a cliffhanger.
The story opens in January. The four eldest Maxwell brothers are now all off the market – either engaged or married. Luke and Tyler have yet to set dates for their weddings. Only Travis and Sam remain single, though Sam has been returning to Chicago more frequently thanks to his mystery woman. Paisley is eleven. Just over a year and a half has passed since the series opened with Tate’s story.
Travis Maxwell, roughly thirty, is known for his workaholic tendencies. Like his siblings, he learned the importance of a good work ethic at a young age. He lives by the family’s principle of having purpose, so when he sold his software company over a year ago and finally took some well-deserved time off, he found himself getting restless. After college, he devoted himself to building a software company that predicts stock market trends. It took all of his attention – he hadn’t had more than a one-night-stand in years – and despite the company’s huge success, the sale left him feeling like something was missing. He couldn’t sit still without finding a new purpose.
The sale had brought Travis back to Chicago, so he got an office in the same building with three of his older brothers. It had him thinking about the Maxwell family and what comes next for him. He had felt bad about the sale of the family bookstores – he loved the idea of the family working together and leaving behind a legacy they could all be proud of. With the building that houses his grandmother’s only remaining bookstore still vacant after Reese’s engagement fell apart, he got to thinking about how he could take the space and make it into something new that the entire family could take pride in.
Travis has been moving quickly, and things are falling into place for the opening of the small boutique hotel that will carry the family name. His success has been in large part to his ability to recruit great talent, and Tim Woodson is just the right manager for the operation. He already manages a small hotel in a remote Southern California community, and his experience is exactly what Travis needs. With that in mind, Travis catches a flight west right after the New Year, confident in his ability to secure Tim over the course of a week. He doesn’t expect a brunette to catch his eye on the flight, nor does he anticipate spending the week with her. He hopes to see more of her once she returns to Chicago in a few months, but he loses contact once he gets home. His workaholic tendencies kick into full gear once again, and he works tirelessly to ensure the opening is a huge success.
Bonnie Wilson, twenty-nine, loves Oceanwell Bay. She is in the remote SoCal town for a twelve-month stint at Oceanwell Rescue, a clinic renowned for its work with wildlife. Bonnie gets to help nurse dolphins back to health as well as help a variety of other creatures. It is different from her job as a vet assistant in Chicago, where she mostly works with furry domestic animals. She had left behind a boyfriend, but he hadn’t been willing to wait for her so he broke up. The dating scene in Oceanwell is nonexistent, so when a handsome stranger has eyes for her, she eventually decides that she is entitled to a week of no-strings fun.
Travis is playful and easy to be around. They connect effortlessly, and his attentiveness is surprising. She is not used to that in a relationship. She was raised in a failed marriage, and her parents cause her more grief than anything else. She is a realist when it comes to people, but she has always held on to the dream of falling in love, getting married, and having a family of her own one day. She has no expectations that anything can come of her fling with Travis, however, so she doesn’t delude herself with hopes of anything more. Travis says he wants to see her when she returns to Chicago, but she isn’t completely surprised when he drops her the moment he leaves town.
Fate has other plans in mind for Bonnie when she discovers she is pregnant. She and Travis had been careful, so it comes as a shock. Becoming a single mother hadn’t been part of her plan. She feels obligated to let Travis know, but her pride has her rejecting the idea of accepting any help from him. Travis is shocked when he discovers the email that Bonnie sent. Learning that he will be a father has him adjusting to a new reality. Suddenly, the hotel isn’t the only thing to occupy his thoughts. He still wants something more with Bonnie, but she is convinced that they need to remain friends for the sake of the child. Travis is never one to back down from a challenge, though. As the couple continues to get to know one another, the Maxwell family cannot sit still on the sidelines once they hear the news. They face a few challenges, but Travis and Bonnie eventually earn a happy ending.
Watch for Sam’s story in book six! There is a hint of what is to come in this book. Sam leaves Doctors Without Borders around September to return home to Chicago and his mystery girl, but things don’t work out. It looks like he gets a second chance for romance with his old high school girlfriend, Avery, in book six.
Wow! Travis and Bonnie’s sweet romance has a feel-good ending. It is easy to root for the soon-to-be parents. The entire Maxwell family is in the background, too, helping out along the way. Bonnie’s dysfunctional upbringing has her feeling unprepared for so much love and support, so she has a hard time trusting it. Travis has no experience with relationships since work has been the center of his adult life. He never wavers in his good intentions, though, making him an adorable hero. He was easy to raise, according to his mother, and his easy personality really comes across. The only real obstacle is his dedication to work. That said, his excuse about not finding the time to look up Bonnie after losing her number just does not hold water. He might have wanted to see her again, but not badly enough to make it happen. It only took a single phone call to her clinic, and he knew she would be leaving it in a few months’ time, so time was not on his side. That said, he is unfailing in his efforts once she steps back into his life.
Note that Travis’s age is never given, but we can deduce that he is roughly thirty. Tyler, thirty-two or thirty-three as this book opens, comes right before Travis in birth order. Travis is thus no older than thirty-two. Sam, next in birth order, has been practicing as a doctor for at least a few years, so he is likely at least twenty-eight, making Tyler’s age probably fall between twenty-nine and thirty-two.
Travis and Bonnie’s steamy accidental pregnancy romance is a great addition to the series. The Maxwell family drama brews in the background of this book, making it a rich read for fans of the series. While on a business trip to the West Coast, Travis meets Bonnie. They both know there is no future together when they share a week of pleasure. It comes as a surprise to them both when circumstances bring them back together. This family-centered sweet romance is a great escape. The story is nicely written. The plot is simple. The characters are engaging. The dialogue is occasionally awkward and unnatural, but it doesn’t interfere with the story. It is told in first person. The POV alternates between Travis and Bonnie. I rate this book four stars.
I received an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I’ve missed reading the Maxwell series. Love this book with Travis story. I’ve loved getting snippets of him from the other Maxwell books but good to have his own story and how he falls for Bonnie. There are plenty of ups and downs in this relationship, but you still can’t stop rooting for Travis. Another brilliant read that I couldn’t put down, can’t wait for the next installment of Sam.
Might be in minority - was a bit boring. Travis was too perfect, there was no conflict, overly rosy of a story. Ending was a bit rushed, including gender reveal.
Layla Hagen has done it again! I absolutely LOVED Love Me Forever, the fifth book in her The Maxwell Brothers series! I loved every moment on every page of Love Me Forever and it was impossible to put it down. Each book in the series keeps getting better, Love Me Forever is my favorite book in the series. Layla Hagen definitely does not disappoint her readers with Love Me Forever and has once again delivered an incredible love story filled with everything that I love in sizzling romance stories. I love that Layla Hagen continues to write the stories that I love to read. Who does not love hot sexy men, who make you swoon, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another, and wonderful characters? I loved meeting the Maxwells brothers and the Maxwell cousins. I love how Layla Hagen always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong, sassy woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy man. One of my favorite parts of her books is how she incorporates the picture on the cover of the book into the love story. I am not sure how she does it, but Layla Hagen has once again given her readers another incredible book with incredible characters. She has once again proven that she in an amazing storyteller. I really enjoy how she writes her stories in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love knowing what the main characters are thinking and feeling. My favorite moments in Love Me Forever are the lighter moments where I found myself smiling and laughing out loud. I also love the parts that pull at my heartstrings and cause me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments. Love Me Forever is filled with such moments, and with so much more. Love Me Forever is filled with all those things that I have come to love and expect in a Layla Hagen love story, especially the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Love Me Forever is the love story between Travis Maxwell, owner of Maxwell Hotel and Bonnie Wilson, a veterinarian assistant. Bonnie and Travis meet at the airport in Oceanwell Bay after arriving from Chicago. Bonnie is returning to her temporary home after a short visit to Chicago. Travis is hoping to convince the hotel manager of Winston Hotel, Tim to accept the hotel manager at his new Maxwell Hotel that he is opening in Chicago. Bonnie and Travis share a car, from the hotel and then accidentally meet the following day at the beach. As Travis and Bonnie spend time together, things quickly heat up between them. They decide to have a weeklong fling. Travis does not believe that he is relationship material. Travis returns to Chicago after convincing Tim to accept his job offer with hopes of meeting up with Bonnie once she returns to Chicago, but he loses her phone number. Shortly after Travis returns to Chicago, Bonnie discovers that she is pregnant and returns early to Chicago. She seeks out Travis and reveals to him that she is pregnant. Travis wants Bonnie to move in with him, but she is worried about where she will go is things do not work out between them. I love the chemistry between Bonnie and Travis and their love story. I love the secrets that each one shares with one another, especially how their past relationships make them uncertain about any future relationships and Bonnie’s relationship with her parents. I love how the plot twist makes Bonnie uncertain about their future together, and I love how it gets resolved. One of my favorite moments is Travis’s reaction when he joins Bonnie on her first visit to the ob/gyn. Layla Hagen creates such wonderful and memorable characters and has once again done this in Love Me Forever. I love Bonnie and Travis’s story and the descriptions of the Oceanwell Bay and Chicago settings. I love Bonnie's relationship with Lena, Emmett, and all the women, it felt like she found the family that she always dreamed about. I love the characters and the family dynamic in Love Me Forever, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoyed catching up with the other characters in the series. It felt like going to a family reunion. I enjoy all the interactions among the Maxwell brothers and cousins, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. Love Me Forever was a wonderful love story. I love how the epilogue was more than a happily ever after, and how it went above and beyond the happily ever after. I also love that it hints to the identity of Sam’s potential mate. My favorite part of the story is Travis’s proposal to Bonnie, and how he incorporated one of her favorite things into the proposal. I highly recommend this sizzling romance. Cannot wait to read the next love story in the series.
I think its good that I’m a veteran reader of this author and this series because if I were to judge by first impressions I wouldn’t have been very impressed with this latest addition to the Maxwell Brothers series. This is the 5th book in the series, this one featuring Travis Maxwell a successful entrepreneur and one of the last two single brothers. Other than the fact that Travis loves his niece Paisley and the rest of his family, there isn’t very much early in this story to endear his character to me. He sees an attractive woman (Bonnie the female protagonist in this book) as they both deboard the plane on their trip from Chicago to the imaginary California city with the unimaginary name of Oceanwell Bay and he immediately begins sizing her up as a prospect for a fling while he’s in town recruiting someone for the luxury boutique hotel he plans to open back in Chicago. Real classy Travis. They share a ride from the airport into Oceanview and IMHO Travis comes across as obnoxiously arrogant. What is supposed to pass for flirty, fun, sassy dialogue between the two didn’t impress me much as such. And this is only in the first few pages. But like I said I’m a veteran reader of Hagen’s so having enjoyed many of her previous books I’m willing to hang in there with the hopes things get better. They say you can’t always judge a book by its cover. I’ve discovered you also can’t always judge a book by its first few chapters. Fortunately my patience was rewarded. Since its in all the blurbs around this book I don’t think I need to put a *Spoiler Alert* when I say that as Travis and Bonnie get to know one another in the biblical sense steaming up the sheets and otherwise during their week long fling their characters begin to be more appealing to me. And once Travis discovers Bonnie is pregnant with his baby he does a complete 180 turn going from confirmed bachelor with no time or interest in a real relationship to pursuing Bonnie because he quickly realizes she’s someone he can’t live without. Bonnie much to Travis’s consternation, because of her history with her neglectful parents (isn’t it always the parents who fuck us up?) can’t believe that Travis could really want her forever. Her idea is that they be friends and co-parent their expectant child so that things don’t get messy if they try to be more and (as she’s sure will happen) it doesn’t work out. Lots of warm family feels in this one as the entire Maxwell family, gran, parents, cousins, siblings and sibling’s significant others embrace Bonnie and give her the acceptance, love and affection she never received from her parents helping her realize she is worthy of being loved. Travis reprioritizes his life becomes the ideal of a man devoted to giving the woman he loves everything she needs and wants, even when she sometimes doesn’t realize what that is. He’s over the top protective of his baby mama and baby but its fun to watch.
Love Me Foreveralthough a Standalone, it is the Fifth book inThe Maxwell Brothersseries by new to me author Layla Hagen. Through dual POVs, it tells the story of Travis Maxwell and Bonnie Wilson in this Contemporary Romance.
The narrative took you on a ride, particularly once Bonnie and Travis meet and end up having a whirlwind romance that was only meant to last a week. However not all goes to plan given the surprise twist that is thrown their way. Resulting in a mixture of fun, cute yet sometimes stressful and emotional journey for the rest of the storyline.
Through Travis and Bonnie’s dual perspective not only do we learn more about the characters when it comes to their individual lives, especially delving in and exploring further more. Considering everything that is going on in their lives, specifically when it comes to their relationship and family. Though mostly on Travis’s side, since his family were secondary characters making many appearances throughout. Layla also had us exploring Travis and Bonnie’s relationship of course, since that was the biggest plot within the narrative. There was many elements explored within, for instance the banter they shared on top of the adorable, cute and sweet moments that it led too. But also there was some pressing times given the obstacles Travis and Bonnie had to overcome, more so for Bonnie with the internal battle she was fighting. Ultimately allowing us to explore the many emotions and feelings that both were dealing with and feeling all throughout their journey.
When it came to the story overall, unfortunately there were a few issues that left me feeling a little disappointed. The drama that was included not only seemed to appear out of nowhere, given the way it was brought about. It just seemed to end too abruptly IMO, with how quickly it was swept under the rug. There was also the case of the story lacking enough pizazz or oomph, giving the overall book more of a vanilla feel to it. Honestly by the end, it had me wishing there had been more drama and conflict to bring the fire with building suspenseful moments that would've made me more excited with reading the story. Mainly because after reading the blurb it had given me higher expectations.
In the end Travis and Bonnie’s storyLove Me Foreverended up being a cute, sweet and easy read overall. Even despite my issues, Layla Hagen still did a good job with writing the story.
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Love Me Forever is book five in Layla Hagen’s The Maxwell Brothers series. I haven’t read this author before and enjoyed this sweet and pleasant story. I felt it can easily be read as a standalone but it did made me very interested in the rest of the family. Travis Maxwell and Bonnie Wilson are two strangers who meet and have a week of fun, then have to face the consequences.
Travis is opening up a new hotel in Chicago to continue the family legacy. He is determined to get the best people working for him and his search leads him to Oceanwell Bay. While waiting for his taxi at the airport he meets an intriguing woman and tries to charm her.
Bonnie is a veterinary assistant from Chicago but is currently working at the Oceanwell Bay Wildlife Rescue Centre. She is sassy and doesn’t back down from a challenge. They banter as he gives her a lift home but although she thinks he is gorgeous with a great sense of humour, she turns down his offer of dinner.
They are instantly attracted to each other and he makes sure they meet again. They have some amusing dates and get on really well. They realise their fling is turning into so much more but both are against having a relationship. Fate has other ideas for them and Bonnie is shocked when she finds out she is pregnant. She had always wanted children but had hoped it had all happened in the more traditional way so this leaves her worrying and questioning everything. Their week had been amazing but it was never meant to be more and now had to face reality.
Their versions of trying to do the right thing proves a stumbling block but his family step up and help. I loved how they accepted her unconditionally and showed her what a loving family was like. If you have read the rest of the series you will enjoy catching up with his brothers and their partners. I found his two cousins hilarious and loved the dynamics between them and Travis.
I found Travis an absolute sweetie and very romantic. The unexpected baby news brought out his protective side and after a bumpy start he certainly tried hard to prove how much she meant to him. Things aren't easy as she has some family problems and has never been supported before so finds him wanting to take care of her strange.
Can they make it work after only a week together. Is it only the baby that is keeping them in the relationship. Can he persuade her that his feelings are real. I enjoyed this surprise baby story and felt it was the best thing to happen to this couple as they were perfect for each other and meant to be together.
Love Me Forever Maxwell Brothers #5 Layla Hagen ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Every time Layla Hagen releases a new story I always think she cannot outdo the previous one, but here I am again… Fan Girling over another epic story, beautiful characters and a storyline that plays with both heart strings and emotion. But a mistake in car bookings at Oceanwell Bay, has her firmly in the personal world if a sexy man that oozes everything . Meeting Travis was everything she could want, he’s sexy, charming and then he disappears and despite having her number goes radio silent. With no way to contact Travis she returns to Chicago with all intents if tracking him down, but the man n an online mystery, no facebook, no instagram… With no other option she sends an email to the new hotel he’s opening when he discovers it he jumps in.
Their reunion isn’t all rainbows and lollipops, Bonnie is hurt if could just delete her from his life, and until she knows the whole story, he couldn’t be more sorry and her more forgiving. Knowing they must work in harmony for the sake f the baby it sent long until their chemistry reheats everything… add alpha male, pregnancy hormones, tears and touches and the world f Travis and Bonnie changes epically.
Not from a loving family Bonnie struggles with the Bennett family, this unit is full on, powerful but so loving. While the pregnancy was a shock to all of them, they all took Bonnie into their arms and into their lives. Travis and Bonnie make a beautiful couple, I could have read 3 more books for. Their banter, their courage, their emotion was all there for me to live and enjoy!!
Travis and Bonnie’s love story in Love Me Forever by Layla Hagen, book five in her The Maxwell Brothers series, is a wonderful, heartwarming romance that will have you swooning and falling in love right along with them. Bonnie and Travis meet while both are away from home and are drawn to one another, share an amazing chemistry and decide to spend the time they’re together; having a week long fling. The chemistry between Bonnie and Travis was electrifying, and going much deeper than an instant connection. When Bonnie discovers she is pregnant she believes that Travis has a right to know; though she doesn’t expect him to participate in the baby’s life. When she tries to contact Travis, she can’t get a hold of him. She keeps trying until she finally finds an alternate way to reach him. Meeting together, they decide to co-parent together as friends, nothing else. Travis can’t help himself and becomes an alpha, or caveman-like, protector, surprising Bonnie who did not expect that of him. As they spend time getting to know one another, their earlier attraction resurfaces, and their friendship grows into more; just like their little peanut.
Bonnie has been hurt by those who were supposed to love her and doesn’t trust easily. She wants to believe that Travis wants her, not just because of the baby; but it’s difficult for her to believe that he truly feels that way. Travis finally understands, thanks to the help of his super smart family, and works hard to get Bonnie to believe that is how he truly feels. The Maxwell family is amazing and so supportive. They stepped right in, welcoming Bonnie into the family, and gave her the love and sense of belonging that she was always wanted. It was also great to catch up with other couples.
Ms. Hagen wrote a wonderful, emotional, and heartwarming story that should not be missed. She provided a tale rich with sizzling chemistry, strong magnetism, amazing family dynamics, clever banter, the magic of love, and endearing characters giving Travis and Bonnie a chance at love, happiness, and a future together neither expected. I highly recommend Love Me Forever to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Travis switching businesses after selling his software company and taking a few months off is not full steam ahead on his new business venture. Opening up a Luxury Hotel. But he's got to convince a hotel Manager in California to come work for him. So the trip to California. On the plane he spots a woman that catches his attention. But he has to concentrate on his mission. Then in the luggage terminal he sees the same woman. Yep he doesn't have time. Since the town is so small there are no rental cars to he had to reserve a cab. Again the same woman pops in and seems to be having issues with her reservation. Apparently her car has been delayed for an hour. The entire time Travis is listening to the banter back and forth and finally steps in when the woman is telling the reservation desk maybe the person missed their flight and she can take his car. So long story short they share the cab. Yep they spark a conversation but that's where it ends until he bumps into her again. She finally agrees to go to lunch with him and the rest is history. Bonnie is starting to fall for Travis and vice versa however she knows this has a time limit to it and decides to take advantage of the time together. Fast forward to Travis securing the Manager and it's time to fly back to Chicago and get the show on the road. Travis and Bonnie have each others phone numbers and he wants to continue seeing her. When Travis is back in Chicago the media apparently got a hold of his private cell so he had his assistant get him a new phone. When he got the phone he noticed all his contacts were gone nothing saved which means he doesn't have the new Manager's info nor does he have Bonnie's. So busy with the hotel he didn't put too much effort into trying to find her. A month went by and Bonnie was a bit disappointed she hadn't heard from him but she also got an unexpected surprise. She's pregnant. She tries to contact Travis but the line was disconnected. Packing up she moves back to Chicago and tries again to contact Travis. In a comedy of errors they finally connect and boy do they. Loved the way the story played out. Loved the way the story ended and I truly loved Travis. Great story. Maxwell's a great family. I love them all.
„This Passion is Forever“ von Layla Hagen ist der fünfte Band ihrer romantischen Feel-Good-Reihe The Maxwells. Leider hat ihn Bonnie bereits in die Friendzone abgeschoben, was Travis keinesfalls zulassen will.
I love it Love it💖💖 I hope to read Sam, Reese, and Kimberly story soon!!💖💖💖
"We do." Travis spoke in a strong voice. He turned around, taking both my hands and looking me straight in the eyes. "Bonnie, you’re my whole life. I will love you until my last breath. I don't know what's beyond that, but you'll have my heart then too." We'd both decided to keep the vows short because I told Travis I didn't think I could last very long without bursting into tears. I couldn't even make it through his without doing just that. I cleared my throat while tears streamed down my face. "And you have mine." My voice was only a whisper, but he could hear me, and that was enough for me. "I love you to the moon and back. And I promise to love you more every single day." The priest said a few words, but I was too lost in Travis to hear him, right until he said, "You can exchange rings." Paisley came up to us, holding the rings high. She was smiling proudly. Oh, it made this girl so happy. She told me secretly that her goal was to be the ring bearer at every wedding in the family. I was pretty sure she'd get her way. She had everyone wrapped around her little finger, and she knew it. Travis put my ring on first, and then I slid his on. The second I was done, he leaned in, brushing his lips against mine. We were husband and wife. I couldn't believe it. We stepped out of the tent, walking slowly as everyone congratulated us. I loved seeing the genuine smiles on the faces of our wedding party and to be surrounded by people who wished us nothing but happiness. I could practically feel the joy in the air. The photographer took over as soon as we were out. Paisley also snapped a million pictures with the camera Travis got her the past Christmas. The photographer took group pictures, ordering us around, and then he looked at Travis and me. "I found some good spots for you two farther down here. It's between a patch of trees. The light is perfect, and the sun is in a great position right now. Ready to go? We can come back and finish the group pictures later." Travis looked at me. "Your call, babe." 💖💜💖
Can you tell I loved Travis and Bonnie's story. Travis Maxwell is really a family man at heart but just had not found a person to give his love to. Travis went to Oceanwell to get this manager to operate his Hotel, and that is where he ran into Bonnie. They had a weeklong fling with no strings, but you know what happens with good intentions of doing one thing, it never works out like you think. Travis had bought his grandmother's building and was building a hotel on the premise to keep the legacy going. The Maxwell Hotel was going to be the most uniquely awesome hotel in Chicago. This is the story of how Bonnie who works as a veterinary assistant because animals were her friends growing up. She came from a divorce household where her mother kept her and tried to convince her that her father was a bad person not really understanding or caring that she had to take responsibility for the divorce because what ruined it was her gambling and that she had lost their house to gambling. Then we have the Maxwells a loving family with Grandmother Beatrice as the Matriarch and then Lena and Emmett Travis's mother and father and of course there is the other brothers and their significant others. There is Declan and Liz, Luke and Megan, Tate and Lexi and of course Paisley and Kendra and Tyler and of course Dr. Sam, and of course cousins Reese and Kimberly. So, we have a family for the most part who are really close. We come to find out that her idea of love was that people love you until they leave you and she felt that she was not loveable enough. This is how Travis had to learn how to show the women he loved and who was carrying his baby that she was unconditionally loved with a lot of Maxwell's who wanted to just love on her. Good story of how people who come from really different backgrounds learn love each other. I really loved this story, can't you tell. I always love Layla Hagen stories because she writes about families and the different members of the families and how they navigate the individuality which goes to make families great and brings them together. Layla's stories are romantic and funny and very, very good.
Love Me Forever is the next installment of the Maxwell Brothers series and is the story of Travis and Bonnie. This is a quick and easily read story of instalust, week long fling and a surprise baby. Bonnie and Travis meet while both away from home and are drawn to one another, have great chemistry and decide to spend the time they’re together – together. The chemistry between Bonnie and Travis was instant and went so much deeper than just lust. It is hot and heavy and neither is looking forward to seeing things end and hoping maybe …..
Bonnie discovers she is pregnant and believes that Travis has a right to know even though she isn’t expecting him to participate in the baby’s life; however, when she reaches out to Travis she can’t connect with him. She keeps at it until she finds a way to reach him and once she does, they decide to co parent together as friends – nothing else. Travis can’t help himself and becomes this alpha protector, let me take care of you guy and Bonnie doesn’t know what to do with that! There is clearly still an attraction and a budding friendship on top of the co parenting aspect and they both feel it.
Bonnie has been severely hurt by others and doesn’t trust easily. She wants to believe that Travis wants her and not just because of the baby, but it’s hard for her to trust in that. Travis finally gets that, with the help of his super smart family, and works hard to get her to believe that. Speaking of the Maxwell family, I absolutely LOVED how they stepped in and seriously welcomed Bonnie into the family and gave her the love and belonging that she was always wanted. It was also great to catch up with other couples! 😉
All in all, this was a sweet story, low on angst and high on family and relationships. It’s an easy read with well written and witty banter by all – especially those Maxwell brothers! There is a lot of emotion from both the MCs and his family as well. I absolutely love how it ended and the fun role that one of the Maxwell brothers gets to play! Don’t miss this one!
