What happens when the girl who wants to die meets a serial killer?
Night after night, I go looking for trouble, for something to make me feel alive. I don’t know what I’m looking for. Something, anything, to kickstart my heart and make me realize life is beautiful.
And then, one night, I meet him.
The Blood Eagle Killer.
He doesn’t kill women, but he says he’ll make an exception for me. I’m strangely okay with it, having never felt more alive than when I wake up on his table. I don’t fight, I don’t struggle, so imagine my surprise when he changes his mind and lets me go.
Suddenly I’m alive, and I want so much more out of life. I want to fall in love.
I don’t kill women. When I’m on the hunt, I make sure they fit the mold. I don’t expect things to change, but then I stumble upon her, and I can’t shake the way her loneliness calls out to mine.
She was meant to be a part of my legacy, another body for the authorities to find, and yet I let her go.
But I can’t stay away. I’m curious, and this girl makes me feel something I haven’t felt my entire life.
Human.
But I’m a monster, and no sane person could ever love a monster like me.
Hey guys! I'm a writer, an office worker, a wife, a mother to two dogs and two cats, and half of a strange pair of young adults who flip the houses they're living in with the goal of having no mortgage (so that I can eventually focus on my writing career!). Needless to say, I'm busy.
Still, I somehow find time to write, to read, and to enjoy life. Wish there were more hours in the day, really!
If you're active on Goodreads and have similar interests, friend me. I don't bite. Or if you'd rather follow my reviews, you can do that, too.
This one sounded really intriguing and I think the premise was captivating, it just wasn't fleshed out as much as I think these characters deserved. I'd still read more from this author though.
Usually, these types of books are right up my alley, but this one missed the mark. I enjoyed the MFC, but the MC was incredibly lackluster compared to other novels with a similar premise. He just felt very hollow and his motivations even more so.
DNF. It started off interesting but by the halfway mark I lost that interest. The FMC was relatable but the writing becomes too repetitive & felt like it was going in circles, especially with the MMC.
Sienna is looking for trouble and she might have just found it.
Bones and All was so much fun to read!
Sienna is not in a good place. She’s searching for something. Something to make her feel alive. She just didn’t expect a serial killer to be the one to find her.
Garth has a code. Rules he lives by, but Sienna threw all that out the window.
I found their story to be strangely sweet, considering how these two met. Garth is the perfect mix of caring, yet unhinged, and slightly innocent. I am completely smitten with him. The chemistry he has with Sienna is intense and I loved seeing Sienna’s growth throughout. I absolutely loved this book!
“I want her. I want her with every fiber of my being. I want her more than I’ve ever wanted anything in my entire life. Maybe even more than I want to kill. “
I liked the concept of the story but unfortunately there were a couple of things that did not work for me. For one, there was very little actual dialogue. Most of the book took place in their thoughts which honestly felt repetitive. Second, they barely spent any time together on page. That took away from my enjoyment of the book. The end was interesting in a total mundane way. If you've read it, you understand. But it felt kind of anticlimactic tbh.
It really is a cute story, 2 people who don't feel like they belong who thinks the world is a dark place where its all sunshine and rainbows but for them it's dark and pointless until they meet each other.
The quirky way is that he's a massa unaliver and she's his first woman would be victim. And they fall in love.
Still cute though and the ending is even more cute. More of a gray story than dark.
It's not as dark as her usual books but I think it's a great read! The story is about a guy ( Garth ) that's a serial killer but it's not really the focus of the book. Sienna is a very sad women and actually wants to be murdered. They meet ( don't want to spoil the book ) and thus begins their story. It's about two people who struggle to be part of society. It's a dark read but more of a twisted kind of love story. I really would recommend this book !
I enjoyed this story about Sienna and Garth. I would have liked the story to have explained Garth's previous murders though. Sienna seems to believe she is insignificant and not worth being alive. Garth is like he is because of his step dad's violence. Two lost souls find each other. Hot read.
I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH. It’s was weirdly adorable for a book about a serial unaliver. I loved everything about this. Siena and Garth are now one of my favorite couples. I’m really excited to see what Candice comes up with for Greer though.
Garth is drawn to Sienna and what ensues is a tangle of want, secrets, and desires.
I loved seeing Garth grapple with his identifies and what he thought was best for Sienna. And I loved how broken Sienna was & how both sides of Garth helped put her back together.
I always love Candace's books and this one didn't disappoint.
Absolute perfection! I loved Garth and Sienna's story! Great writing and relationship development, and a build-up for future characters! Garth struggling with his morality when it came to Sienna and her accepting him for everything he was, was beautiful to read! I especially loved that epilogue. I always love the books by this author, and this one did not disappoint!
You know those stories of fearless, star-crossed lovers who defy the odds to be together? Yeah, yeah so that's not necessarily this lol
These two are socially awkward, emotionally stunted, and one is a serial unaliver. In a way they are perfect together. Another absolutely read-worthy story by Candace Wondrak! Blood eagle is one hell of a way to go!
This is taking a bad boy to one of the top levels and I love a twisted girl who is all about her bad boy's ways. This is one I will gladly read again and I love that there was a great epilogue at the end. I feel that is a good wrap up to the story.
This author really knows how to demonstrate powerful, passionate love where on face value it seems that there is a total absence of that sort of emotion. Loved the characters. Enjoyed their journey.
This would be a perfect book for people curious about serial killer romances, but nervous about getting a story that's too dark. I mean, sure, he's a serial murderer, but he's actually really sweet to her, you know?
so i wanted to reread bones and all but my library only offered it in spanish then i saw this and thought it was bones and all so i started reading and then i was like oh this isn’t bones and all its bones & all. but i was hooked i didn’t leave my chair ngl it was romance and i don’t like romance but i was curious how she was gonna find out that he is the serial killer then i thought wow this is going great for them for sure he is gonna get locked up spoiler alert he didnt and the epilogue was so cute they end up having a kid. so yeah i liked it thanks will be reading more thanks.
