Darryl W. Perry has spent most of his adult life as an advocate & activist for peace and liberty.
Darryl is an award winning author and publisher, and a former host on the nationally syndicated talk show Free Talk Live.
Darryl W. Perry ran for President with a goal to run the most libertarian presidential campaign in history, to promote the ideas of liberty as boldly and as often as possible, and to give as many people as possible the chance to vote for an actual libertarian in November 2016. After the Libertarian National Convention - where he placed 4th for the LP Presidential nomination - Perry started a crowd-funded public-interest lobbyist firm!
I am reading this as I am one of the adjudicators of for the Libertarian, Agorist, Voluntaryist, and Anarch Authors and Publishing Association's ( http://www.lava-apa.org/ ) LAVA Awards.
Incidentally, this book was a finalist for March Book of the Month on http://freedombookclub.com but was ultimately overlooked.
In Duoploy Perry shows through empirical evidence that control of the printing of the official ballot, how politicians are choosing who gets elected, not the people. Choosing between the lesser of two evils is almost always the only option.
Also playing a major role in perpetuating the two party statist hegemony is the drawing of eletoral districts, done by... politicians (of course!). The redistricting process as it is currently conducted has the politicians choosing who they shall preside over, instead of the constituents choosing who will represent them.
Perry provides some ideas that individuals may want to advocate for to try and wrestle governmental control from the officials currently in power. He also explains the systems of voting current in use, and different systems of voting being proposed, their strengths, and their weaknesses.
This is a must read for the independent or minor party candidate. If people are going to be choosing candidates via a ballot box, then reformation of the electoral system is paramount for the success of such a candidate.
