Lydia Debark, one of the residents, has been missing for 2 days.
What secrets did she uncover that got her into trouble?
That island holds nothing but bad, hurtful memories for me.
But I’m the best agent to work on this case. I’m a professional. I know the lay of the land and I’ll find her.
Her therapist may be able to explain why Lydia was so upset during her last visit.
Interviewing the new mysterious owners of the manor may shed light on Lydia’s whereabouts. She was working for them and had become friendly with the wife.
And I know better than anyone that secrets are hidden in that house.
18 years ago, I was accused of murdering my parents there. I fled the island, without a trace or a memory.
Returning puts my life at risk. Some may still want me to be held accountable for their murders. Some may even want me dead.
Either way, my investigation to find Lydia must begin.
Short, sweet, and ended too short. This was a quick read but ended too abruptly. I know the next book in the series will come shortly, but I just thought the ending would have given a little more information to lead into the next book. The protagonist was great but a little too blunt and sassy to be able to try and solve a case. She pushed people away who wanted to help her and needed to be a little more trustworthy to them.
This short book sets up the next book Secrets Revealed, so definitely read this first. I enjoyed this, a lot happens in a short amount of pages. Agent Kitty Forrest messed up at work and as a result is sent off to an island for a missing persons case that is not at all what it seems. Cliffhanger ending
I love the name of the island - Emerald Island. Sounds so peaceful and beautiful. A short quick read and leaves you wanting more in book 2. So many plot twists and it definitely keeps you intrigued. I definitely can not wait for the next book in this series. I received an advance review copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.
Wow! This story has more twists and turns. All Kitty wants to know is who killed her parents. Being sent back to an island she hasn’t been back to in years brings back memories she thought had finally gotten buried. And now 2 murders on this same island. Who is responsible?
This is a quick read. I personally don't care for 'cliff hangers' this is more of a prequel to a series. Not a bad story, just short. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
