Read from a parents perspective who didn't go to Uni and in the hope of supporting our daughter as she imminently does. My edition was older than the pictured version so you have to bear in mind tweaks to the grant process and likewise IT trends. That said, this is a cracking little book that has given me some assurances, prompts and an idea of how to support my girl as she flies the coop. I'm sure that there are dozens of "these" books but I would really recommend this one but perhaps an updated edition to make sure you cover all the bases. Thanks Lucy... did you get a first, atilla or a desmond?

Tells you everything you need to get prepared. It is highly likely to be relevant even in 2022!

This book really helped me for uni. As the first member of my family to head off to uni, I had no idea what to expect so this book helped settle a few of my nerves and gave some really good tips and advice on what to bring to uni, what to do in lectures, how to budget well, dealing with house mates etc.

It's not an essential read but if you are feeling worried about going to uni and making friends and how you'll cope moving away from home then this book may help you What's good is it's written by an ex-student who isn't patronising and gives a real glimpse into university life!

hmm.... bit outdated so some time-sensitive advice e.g. finances, socialising on internet is somewhat irrelevant but otherwise has the right spirit
