Rowena and Asher recruit a vampire and his lover in their search for the mystical relics within the quarters of Salem. Rowena is plunged into the depths of Salem’s underground – sewers that is. Asher tries his best to keep Rowena close as they navigate their way through the mystical world he was born into.
Is Asher developing feelings for the one he calls “Mortie”? What’s the next relic they need to find? Will they find it before it’s too late? Join Rowena and Asher as they navigate the world of magic and relics in this exciting continuation of the paranormal occult romance series. Mild language. Suitable for teens and adults.
"Relics of Salem Part Three" is a series written by S. H. Steele. This series of short stories are part of the Kindle Vella series of ongoing episodes. My review is based solely on the story itself. I am not a fan of vampire books, but I do love Beth Dolgner's Nightmare, Arizona series, and I also really like the Relics of Salem series, where there is a fine line between Old and New Salem, Massachusetts. In this episode, Rowena and Asher are searching for a way to keep Asher's monster of a mother from raising the evil dead Altair from the grave. His awakening could literally destroy the world as we know it today. With the vampire Damien's help, Rowena and Asher are led to an underground sanctum where Altair once lived. Rowena finds several things, one of which is a first-edition copy of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, signed by Lewis Carol. Then, when Rowena literally falls into a hidden room, she finds one of Altair's coded grimoire/vampire diary. Against Asher and Damien's suggestions, Rowena seeks her coworker at the New Salem Library, Nixie. Will getting help from another mortal/mortie be an answer to Rowena and Asher's dilemma about Altair? Or will it wind up being a grave mistake. I gave this book a 5-star rating and will probably read on in the Kindle Vella episodes to find out what happens next. Relics of Salem Part Four is scheduled for release in July 2024.
I received an ARC from the author and BookFunnel, and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Rowena with Asher taking her to the most delightful places ( the sewer) to get to through the magical world of his birth. Recruiting help along the way they must stop his mother from her quest while on their own. To stop the evil dead from surfacing. Great writing with good descriptions and characters. Unputdownable story . Leaving my voluntary review in my own words.
The writing in this one felt different from the others. I enjoyed the evolution of Damien’s character as they were on the hunt for their next clue. We learned more about his history. As always, Asher and Rowena‘s shenanigans and conflicts remain amusing throughout. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
