Tit Me With Your Best Shot

When Nick “Odd Duck” D’Onofrio retires from his MMA career at thirty-eight years old, he has four goals he wants to accomplish with the rest of his open a gym in his hometown of Tuft Swallow, finally learn to play cornhole without embarrassing himself, amass the largest collection of rubber ducks the world has ever seen, and start a family. In six months, he accomplished three of those things, but that’s where his luck ran out. Despite living in the most matchmaking-obsessed town in New England, he just can’t seem to find “the one”.
At least, he couldn’t–until he ran directly into the woman of his dreams. Literally. He slammed right into her in the middle of his morning jog, and it was pretty much love at first sight. For him, anyway.

For Tina Falcone, love is nothing but a distraction. You see, in the Falcone family, the women get married and have babies and the men move away to open pizza restaurants. But motherhood was never Tina’s dream; the only thing she ever wanted was a pizza place of her very own.

So that’s what she did. As the proud owner of Wings and Pizza, Tuft Swallow’s only walk-up pizza place, she is perfectly content to run her restaurant, listen to true crime podcasts, and create creepy miniature cemeteries out of thrifted pottery. No matter what her mother says.

One Odd Duck seems intent on breaking her spinster-streak, though. She has to admit, something about his giant grin, huge muscles, squishy belly, and tiny running shorts intrigues her. And the rubber duck tramp-stamp?
Well, she'd be lying if she said she wasn't at least a little intrigued by it, too.

But when random men keep showing up at Tina’s restaurant insisting that she matched with them on dating apps she’s never used, Nick thinks he’s running out of time. The stresses of family and work have Tina ready to throw in the towel, though–who really needs love anyway?
Will Nick prove his love before it’s too late? Or will he lose the fight to get his ducks in a row before his Pizzarella decides he's just another Ugly Duckling?

This series by several authors is about a fictional small town and the books have interconnected characters, but all are stand alone. I have to admit that based on this title, I was prepared to dislike this book, but it turns out that the town is obsessed with bird watching…who would have guessed? The book was well written, has a fun story and interesting characters. I’m glad I read it.

I really enjoyed returning to Tuft Swallow with Tit Me With Your Best Shot. This story was heartwarming and well written especially with some of the heavy topics of this book. It was witty with the right about of humour and Tina’s family was delightful. Nick and Tina’s relationship was admirable and I loved being introduced to more characters from Tuft Swallow as well as the returning ones. It was an enjoyable read and I cannot wait to return to Tuft Swallow with the remaining books in this series. I received a complementary copy from the author.

Welcome back to Tuft Swallow

This is the first full length story in this series, all written by different authors. After enjoying the first installment I was excited to be back in the town full of double entendres.

Oh my god the ducks!!!! Rubber ducks, pizza and love at first sight. What more do you need?

This is a real fun read with lots of loveable characters. I can’t wait to see what else Tuft Swallow has in store for us.

Tina, the youngest of 7 kids in a large Italian family, wants nothing to do with dating. Her views are based on her perception of her own father and her own wants for her life. Nick has goals. He's working towards all of them except the most important one, getting a wife and family. One day, he literally runs into Tina, and he's immediately hooked. She's not. Just when he thinks he can change her mind, life happens. Now he's responsible for not one but two teenage boys. She's made her stance on having a family clear. Are they over before they've really begun? And who is sending all those strange men to her pizza place for dates she never agreed to?

I really enjoyed this book. With the list of triggers, I was worried about how it would fit into the small town series. It worked great. The puns were once again top-notch.
Pay attention to the very first 3 words of the first 3 books (*wink*)

This book is so cute 🩷
I haven't read any of the other books in this series, just this one. I don't think I missed anything, so it's definitely possible to read it as a standalone.

I instantly fall in love with both MCs. Nick is 🔥 or would it be him is 🔥? Or both? 🤔
Yes, I would say both 😁 This man walks around in tight short pans and without a short all the time 🥵 Yes, he has a bit of a dad bod, but just a tiny bit 😎 He is easy to fall in love to instantly. But not for Tina. She doesn't date 🙈 She has a few very crazy thoughts about relationships... I mean, yeah, in RL some may be true, but girl, you are in a romance book 🤣🤣🤣

This book has so many funny side characters OMG 😄 Tina's parents. Especially her mother and her aunties. God, they are crazy. They are the perfect picture of Italian women 🙈 Always up into poor Tina's 🍑 for not being married...
Or Miss Martha and the other town seniors who love seeing Nick in his short pans.
Nick's cornhole coach Peter, who always sees Nick's talents in cornhole 😎
But especially Mayor Winston. This town really has a VERY special mayor 🤣 This mayor loves to steal Tina's underwear!!! 😱 But nobody will ever go against him 😎 And yes it is funny because of who he is, and I'm just talking about his role as the mayor 🤣
And not to forget Nick's obsession with rubber ducks 😁

I would say it's typically for the author to not "just" write a cute story but also put lots of "problematic" topics in it. This time it's especially about foster care/child abandonment. And a few things that are around it. It's sad, but I can guarantee you it will have a HEA too 🩷

If you're in the mood for a rom-com that's like a warm hug and a sprinkle of cheese, this book is your jam. We're talking about Nick "Odd Duck" D'Onofrio, a retired MMA fighter with dreams as big as his heart, and Tina Falcone, a pizza-loving, true crime podcast-listening, thrift shop connoisseur. These two? Absolute gems.

What really hooked me were Nick and Tina's personalities. Nick's got muscles for days and a smile that could light up a room, while Tina's sass and independence make her a force to be reckoned with. Their chemistry? Through the roof. You can't help but root for these two crazy kids.

And can we talk about the side characters? The mayor of Tuft Swallow deserves their own spin-off, hands down. BUT getting nit-picky here... There's this "high value" dude who keeps popping up like a bad penny, and let me tell you, he's about as believable as a unicorn riding a skateboard. His antics were a tad over-the-top for my taste, but hey, every rom-com needs its villain, right?

Overall, "Tit Me With Your Best Shot" is a feel-good romp that'll leave you with a goofy grin plastered on your face. It's got heart, humor, and enough rubber ducks to start a parade. So grab a slice of pizza, cozy up, and let Nick and Tina take you on a wild ride through Tuft Swallow. Trust me, you won't regret it.

I absolutely love Tit Me With Your Best Shot by Chantal Roome, the second book of the Tuft Swallow series because of it’s funny, beautifully flawed residents who are a tad bit nosy but with the best of intentions! Although this is the second book it can be read as a standalone.

Tina owns the local Italian wings and pizza joint in town and does her best to work and mind her own business. She has no desire to settle with anyone now or ever, until she’s literally run over on the sidewalk by a retired MMA fighter named Nick. Nick wants the whole kit and caboodle and when he sees this beautiful curvy woman, he can’t stay away from her especially when he wants a family with her.

The story in this book is so good and heartwarming, although there are heavy parts, they are tempered with humor. The characters, while different than other characters I usually ready are so refreshing, I love that the MFC is curvy, wears thick glasses and has frizzy hair! And the MMC has a layer of pudge over his toned abdomen. It just makes the characters so relatable! The bird puns are so funny and I love Winston the Mayor!

I recommend this book for a spicy rom com that’s part of a series but can be read alone that ends in a HEA!

Tit Me With Your Best Shot is the second book in the multi author series Tuft Swallows. This is a cute small town series.

Tina doesn't want to fall into the same place her female figures have, as being care givers and having to take care of the house and family instead of having a career for herself. She fought really hard to have the life she wanted and held off on dating anyone. I really liked seeing the character arc of Tina. She really changes her outlook on life and it was inspiring to see. She had a caring and nurturing personality and I loved this about her.

Nick was absolutely adorable. And let's talk about those short shorts. I would've loved to see him in person everyday, always shirtless and wearing very short shorts. Yummy! He really had a kind personality and I could tell he really cared about those around him. This made him ultra endearing.

I loved these two together. They really brought out the best in each other. Even though there were times they had some miscommunication. Their chemistry was off the charts. This was definitely a favourite of mine!

📚: Tit Me with Your Best Shot by Chantel Roome

Tropes:
👉 Small Town
👉 He Falls First
👉 Older Main Characters

TWs 😟: genital destruction by goat (not MC), slight stalking of FMC

Main Takeaway 🏹: I want to live in this town

Synopsis 📜: Nick is an ex-MMA fighter turned rubber duck collector who has returned to Tufts Swallow to run a gym and coach. He didn’t expect to literally run into a woman who will become the love of his life. Tina runs a pizza and wings shop despite her mothers meddling tendencies of trying to find her a husband. She has no desire to get married or spend her life taking care of a man child but Nick might just change her mind on what a mature relationship can be.

Personal Thoughts 🤔: I seriously want to live in Tufts Swallow! The town is run by a goat for crying out loud! Tina is the most caring woman who says she doesn’t want to take care of anyone I’ve ever read and Nick might just be the man of my dreams! The way these two create a family together in the worst of circumstances was a great love story and the spice was amazing!

Tina is a confirmed bachelorette... She's focused on building her restaurant and realising her dreams. Until she bumps into Nick (literally) and finds herself drawn to him in ways she never expected.

Nick has returned to Tuft Swallow after retiring from being a MMA fighter. And he wants to settle down and find someone to share his life with. But when things happen that go completely contrary to what Tina has said she wants with her life, he may have to find a way to move on and let Tina go...

However, Winston and Tina's crazy family find a way to bring comedy, action, and some much-needed insight to help bring Nick and Tina to their HEA...

I loved the banter between Nick and Tina, and I loved the way their personalities complemented each other.

There are some difficult topics addressed through the plot, so check the trigger warnings shared by the author.

Overall, I absolutely LOVED this book. I laughed my way through it, especially the dumpster scene (IYKYK)... ;)

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is a curvy girl romance with a big loud Italian family. Tina owns the pizza place in Tufts Swallow, and her big thing about relationships is....she doesn't date. She is the only of her siblings that is not married and she has no intention of changing that anytime soon.....until she runs into Nick. Nick owns the MMA gym in town and has moved back to his home town to find the love of his life and start a family. He runs into Tina, literally, spilling sauce all over the sidewalk out front of her restaurant. They both have a lot going on in their personal lives, but when they start hooking up and more pieces come into play they both have to decide what they really want. Nick wants to continue this with Tina but he knows that once he tells her his big news, she'll break it off. Tina realizes all the relationships around her aren't what they seem, now she has to decide if being alone is really what she wants.

Tina owns a pizza and wings restaurant in the small town of Tuft Swallow and is in no way interested in a relationship or the marriage and kids deal, she focuses on her restaurant and feeding everyone that she loves. Nick is a retired pro MMA fighter who has recently moved to Tuft Swallow to open his training gym and settle down and his sights are set on Tina. Tons of innuendos, crossed-wires, intervention from the mayoral goat, and lots of self-realization bring Tina and Nick together.

I laughed out loud so many times reading this book, all the little jokes and banter were priceless. Such a fun story and couple with great spice and even really well handled emotional issues and hard situations. Especially love the nontraditional family representation, you don't often see childless by choice couples or foster kids and it was done very well. I'm so ready to read the rest of the series this summer. I want to move to this town!

another fantastic book in the world of Swift Hollow where the bird puns are incessant, the romance is hot, and the mayor is a goat. no, seriously, he's a goat! follow Tina as she navigates the horrors of feelings as she struggles valiantly against her sudden infatuation with Nick. a retired MMA fighter with a horrible obsession with rubber ducks. she swore she'd never date, or get married. she doesn't need some man in her life she has to look after... but why does Nick have to be so HOT though?! as for Nick, he wants many things in life. he wants to get better at cornhole (not gonna happen) he wants to have the biggest collection of rubber ducks the world has ever seen (he's in second place and gaining!) and he wants to marry Tina. some of those goals are easier than others, that's for sure.

Tit Me With Your Best Shot by Chantal Roome is a really funny story with two main characters who could not be more different. Nick wants to find The One, while Tina wants to be independent and her own life. When they first meet, she is not happy at all to see him. But that changes.

This book is a standalone novel in the Tuft Swallow series and it is a really funny and heartwarming story. The writing style is funny, great and flowing, and the characters are fantastic. They are normal and very likable. The setting, a small town, I just love. It is charming and the residents are adorable. The story-line and plot is heartwarming and there are lots of funny moments, which made me smile a lot while reading this book.

Tit Me With Your Best Shot is a great and relaxing book, with some spice, so go read it and I promise you’ll love it, just as I did.

Well, I had some fun coming back to Tuft Swallow. This perky town gives us all the small town and found family vibes we can get.
In this book we follow Tina and Nick's story.
Tina is an independent woman, who is taking care of herself, and has oppened her own restaurant in this small town. She is doing fine on her own and she doen't need any man in her life to get in the way.
Nick opened an gym and is starting fresh in this small town. When a series of events lead him to Tina's he realises she is all he was hoping for. All he has to do is convince her of that!
While they begin to love each other we have some heavier topics that make us like them even more (how they love those teenagers and welcome them to their families).. I can say I laughed, I cried and rooted for all characters (both main and side ones too)! Even Mayor Winston! 🤭

I have never read anything by Chantal Roome before, OMG this was fantastic! Tina Falcone owns her restaurant Wings and Pizza, in the the town of Tuft Swallows. Tina's mother can't understand why she moved away from home, and can't find a husband. Tina literally runs into Nick with Pasta sauce. Nick was running in the smallest shorts and no shirt, Tina likes what she sees; but she does not date or do relationships. Nick trains up and coming MMA fighters; he also likes what he sees.
We have some funny issues; Goat the Mayor eating Tina's underwear.
The Nosy Pecker gossip column, and Tina's mom putting her on dating apps without telling her.
We have heavier issues of child abandonment, and adoption.
Love the plot, great setting, and strong intense interesting characters!!

OMG! I loved this book and love this town. I want to live in Tuft Swallow, the names of the people and places is outrageously hilarious. How Nick and Tina first meet will have you laughing out loud. Then how she treats/talks to him interested in her. These two will have you laughing as they maneuver the other suitors who show up saying Tina has a date with them along with her mindset of staying single. This one will suck you in from the first page and keep you entertained until the last page. These two are definitely my new favorite couple.

This is my first-time reading Chantal Roome and won't be my last time. I really enjoyed this book, and you won't want to miss out on it.

Tuft Swallows is a town that is whimsical and full of characters that you instantly love. With Nick back in his hometown as a retired MMA fighter he is giving his skills to others by coaching upcoming new fighters and when he meets Tina the pizza shop owner fate throws these two together like her spilled sauce on the sidewalk. Tina wants to prove that she doesn’t need a man in order for her life to be accomplished, but when her path crosses with Nick there is just something about this guy that pulls at her. Their story is one that is fun and filled with great banter, but it is also full of emotions and so much hope. Watching them come together and be such amazing characters being there for each other as well as others was so beautiful and I enjoyed their story so much.

I am totally loving this series. First things first, Winston is such a good comic relief is each book and I want to know more about his “hot daddy.” This book is about Tina who owns Pizza and Wings and Nick who is ex MMA fighter with an obsession of rubber ducks. I think the duck obsession was my favorite part of this book, probably because my own son collects them and I could see him acting like Nick. The one issue I had in this book was how long it took both of them to admit to each other not just what they felt but what was going on in their lives. Every time I thought “this is it, they are finally going to tell each other” it didn’t happen. Still I did really live this book and can’t wait for the next because this town is amazing.

This is the second book of a multi-author series, each a standalone set in the small town of Tuft Swallow. This is a delightful rom-com, with lots of innuendos and bird jokes (876? I didn't count them) and now a collection of rubber ducks. Tina is bucking the family traditions and finds her way to Tuft Swallow where she opens a struggling restaurant. Nick is a retired MMA fighter who has returned to his hometown to start a gym and training camp. Tina, Nick and their friends make this a delightful read. I fell in love with Ms. Roome's characters and wish I could spend more time with them.

Wonderful addition to this series. Nick runs a martial arts gym in Tuft Swallow and is looking for a woman to share his life with having previously dated shallow glamourous women. He finds the perfect woman in Tina who runs the pizza restaurant. All he has to do is convince her to date him. Some hilarious moments with the mayor(goat Winston), the Spring Chickens and a particularly funny bedroom scene. Plus two teenage boys who end up in the foster system that both Nick and Tina are determined to help. I laughed and cried at the start these two had in life. Add in Tina's boisterous Italian family and this is a must read.

This story could easily be made into a movie that I would go see. What a great romance book. The characters were a delight! The story line had me laughing a smiling and wanting more. The spice was good 🌶️🌶️. This book has black cat vs golden retriever vibes, he falls first, older main characters, curvy short FMC and huge amount of rubber ducky collection/ obsession…. Perfect book to read between the darker types. Laughed a lot in this book and enjoyed the puns! No quack about it it’s a great book to read!

Tit Me With Your Best Shot was so good. Overall, I loved the balance this story had with the light-hearted moments and the more heavier topics. I appreciated that this author showed Tina as a strong independent woman who didn’t feel like she needed a man to be fulfilled. Nick just came out of nowhere and knocked her out of the life she knew. The growth that these characters went through was a great read. I am enjoying the Tuft Swallow series and the vibe this universe brings.

I was so fortunate to read this book, it’s the second in an inner connected world by a handful of different authors. Tuft Swallow is a world I could definitely be happy staying in for a while. Nick and Tina’s story was incredible, I loved their chemistry and the topics brought up in the book as well as the side characters. It was a pretty easy read and I’m glad things worked out how they did in the end.

Tufts Swallow is an awesome little town, a little over the top with its love for birds, quirky and great fun.
Nick and Tina are great characters, but total opposites in what they want in life, he’s all family and she’s all independence.
This is an easy read that is fun, lighthearted, and full of bird puns.
The characters are well developed and their story is heartwarming, spicy and charming with a wonderful HEA.

Thank you to the author.

I enjoyed reading this book. It was full of humor which made it so much better. It had the little mix of romance that made it so perfectly written. You get everything in one and it makes you actually want to be part of this amazing town that was build.

The relationship from our main characters was on point and they just fit so well together. You can tell they were meant for each other from the minute they met. Their chemistry, I just loved it.

Author didn’t disappoint on this book.

Nick & Tina
This was written by a new to me author in this fictional, unhinged yet endearing town of Tufts Swallow.
The bird puns vary in subtlety from sneaky to over the top but this book was more subtle, which I liked.
I wasn't expecting this to provoke an emotional response until I saw there were TWs.
Nick's odd duck nickname could suit Tina as well but together they make a great pair, birds of feather do flock together.

Oh how I loved this trip to Tuft Swallow! While this is book #2 in the series, I actually read it (accidentally) as #3. But that didn’t matter much to me!

Like the others - the bird puns are on point and the character crossovers are present. Add Winston the Goat Mayor and it’s rom-com gold!
Missing from this book (& not necessarily a bad thing - just noticed it was not as strong as the other 2 books) the use of the Nosey Pecker gossip column. It was briefly mentioned at the end, but didn’t play as much in the main story line as the other books. Again….not a bad thing, just different.

A few things I personally loved and connected with.
1) Tina’s big, fat Italian 🇮🇹 family. The talk of her moms and aunts and trying to marry her off….if you’ve met my mom, you know…🙄
2) Nick’s rubber duck collection. Again….iykyk
3) the cooking. At one point Tina says, “There is more than enough food for everyone. My mother would die if she heard someone I cooked for went hungry. I brought enough to feed you all three times over.” Again….have you met my mom.
4) Tina’s feisty attitude. I love that she owned her curves and didn’t take shit from anyone. “No one said I wasn’t gorgeous, Nick. The guy said I was fat. Fat and gorgeous are not mutually exclusive, you know. Women can be fat, thin, gorgeous, ugly, and any combination of those descriptors or a million others.”
I also loved her take charge demeanor with Nick in the bedroom. 🌶️🌶️🌶️

I feel like I say this every time, but I can’t wait to go back to Tuft Swallow again!
