This was a fun read with a old school 9o's vibe. Think your favorite group of cousins growing up and what yall did, the sleepovers at grandmas house, getting in trouble etc & it was funny, cute, some drama and seriousness but nothing too crazy or heavy. Some important life lessons scattered throughout. Looking forward to book Il for sure.

I finished this twisty, page-turner of a book in a day! The story shows how the actions of one generation impacts the next and I love that it highlights families learning to communicate with each other and the importance of the cousin bond. Looking forward to part two!

I ran through this book so fast, I couldn’t put it down. This book is outside of my usual romance genre of choice, and I’m so glad I stepped outside of my comfort zone. I became emotionally invested in all the characters; Leslie, Boogie, Raven, Lucci, and even Mitch have my whole heart. I loved their relationships and my heart broke a couple of different times. I highly recommend this book if you’re looking to form a strong connection to characters as they grow and evolve. The nostalgia of the late 80s and 90s in D.C was also an added bonus. Overall loved this book and can’t wait for the next installment in this series.

I received this book from my friend Bianca. I waited so long to read it but as I was rearranging my bookshelf I saw it and was like..."hmm, this looks good I should read this". I am glad I did, this book was very good, it told a story from the eyes of the kids and what they were going through or may have been going through in the '80's & '90's. It did bring back memories, the songs and the fashions...all relatable. I don't want to give away the book but it was a taste of nostalgia.

I am happy that there will be a book 2, I am about to go on Amazon to see if it's out now...want the continuation for sure!

Cousins is so good. I am talking tell a friend to tell a friend good. Perfect for book clubs or just to enjoy on your own, but I recommend grabbing a buddy and enjoying this book. I guarantee you will want to talk to someone about this one.

A story with all the feels, and characters that will definitely pull at your heartstrings, Cousins is filled with life-happen moments that keep you on the edge of your seat wanting more.
I enjoyed this story from the beginning to the end.

Totally book hangover worthy. You will think about the characters long after you finish the book. I know I have.

In Cousins: All We Got Is Us, Author Selena Haskins has written a historical fiction piece which takes us back to 1986 and a few years hence, in the black community of Washington D.C. She takes those of us who lived through that era back down memory lane with certain songs in the backdrop, old rotary phones, the advent of the large cordless phones and the horrors of the crack epidemic and how it destroyed countless lives.

The Walker cousins are each impacted in different ways as young teens and Haskins successfully gets into the heads of Leslie, Champ, Lucci, Boogie and Raven. They are each trying to weather the times as they deal with romance, divorce, loss and the the dangers of street life. Yet, they cleave together to attempt to make it through. The deeply buried secrets of the older generation unravel and the cousins have to decide how they will take the information and forge ahead. Selena Haskins has pulled it off, again!

I recently stumbled upon this book when it was advertised on Facebook. "Cousins" is a fantastic story that takes the reader back in time to the 80s in DC. I found myself relating to many aspects of the characters' lives. The author has done an exceptional job of painting a vivid picture of the period, including the music, fashion, and family dynamics. It was a great trip down memory lane. I'm eagerly looking forward to the second installment to revisit these characters and see how their adult lives turn out.
