Read Life Accurately: Recognize and Respond to Whats Really Happening

Rate this book
Best-selling author and intuitive reader shares her essential guide to "reading" people, places, and situations for better clarity, peace, and success.

"After reading for people for a few years, it became important to me not to just read for others, but to teach them how to do it for themselves, and that's where my purpose in life and my vocation and my devotion for the last over 50 years began . . . "

In this exciting new book, New York Times best-selling author Sonia Choquette teaches readers how to read life how to go inward, pay attention, keep senses sharp and awareness present, and be tuned in internally and externally. This book is the culmination of her life's work, in helping others use their intuition for greater peace, well-being, and happiness.

Sonia explores what reading life is, why reading life matters, and how not to read life. She breaks down the basics of reading life, how to read yourself and others, and how to read your purpose. Sonia also examines how to let your spirit read life and how to read the flow of life, so that you can connect with the right people at the right place at the right time.

The book is repetitive in nature with respect to Choquette's previous books, in my opinion. I get it. Of course, we need to keep hearing the practice of stillness and being self-aware. In that respect, of course, read it a different way. Although there are not a lot of ways to say that. It is the same material from Trust Your Vibes. I also found it less inspiring than Trust Your Vibes. Trust Your Vibes was a better book, in my opinion.

I'm a huge fan of Sonia Choquette's work, but this one was tough to get through. The editing was terrible, and I'm surprised by the number of grammatical errors coming from a professional publisher like Hay House. I'm used to seeing the occasional error in a professionally published book. But there were egregious, obvious errors throughout this book, multiple mistakes in every chapter. The errors consisted mostly of missing or incorrect punctuation and missing or incorrect words, and they made the text very difficult to read. Ms. Choquette's work is always insightful and inspired, and she deserves better from her publisher.

1. READING LIFE:
- Paying attention to the subtle signs present in a situation.
The more you read, life, accurately, the more you’ll fall in love with your life.
- Let your higher self take over.
- The whole point of reading life is improving your daily interactions.
- Sensing and doing the little things that make a big difference.
- Reading life accurately and acting on your feelings is super-practical.
- Reading life accurately gives you that inner confidence that the outer world and others cannot.
- Reading life means being grounded in a keen sense of the obvious.
- If you want to read life, accurately, look at your filters and the places in your life where you need to mature.
- You wanna be able to read life without filters, and even small efforts create big leap of progress.
- Observe without absorbing (*)

2. RESISTANCE:
- Close-mindedness is death to our spirit.
- The mind opens from the inside.
- Denial is detrimental in so many ways because it dulls our senses.
- The antidote to fear is to start connecting to your spirit.
- Life is going to ask us to grow.

3. DISTRACTION:
- Being checked out is our biggest saboteur in today’s world.
- Be proactive about putting your phone away. This is a decision that will change your life for the better.

4. TRUST MYSELF:
- If you’re feeling something, acknowledge it, verbally.
- Believe your reaction. It’s giving you valuable information.

- Only consult with people who can truly inform you.
- Train yourself to trust your intuitive impulses by going on mini-adventures.
- Develop the habit of checking in with your inner self on everything.

5. BODY:
- When looking for answers, start with your body.
- If you’re experiencing fear, getting into your body and breathing will help.
- You can’t let your left brain fight, your right brain, or your head fight your spirit. They’re meant to be partners.
The more present you are in your physical body while you observe the outside world, a quieter your mind chatter becomes.
- Your inner mind chatter is what takes your attention away from the present moment.

6. OTHERS:
- Don’t carry what isn’t yours.
- You can’t help people if you take away their challenges or journey.
- Reading yourself, your people, and your purpose requires in-depth attention and a high degree of self-awareness and curiosity.
- Paying attention to what is happening is a new skill.
- We are all responsible for our own lives, and our growth is part of our purpose.
- Discern which part of you is leading: ego or spirit.
- Learning to read another means getting out of your head in seeing what your reality isn’t the only reality or truth allowed.

7. PURPOSE
- Purpose is connection, contribution, and creativity.
- Part of learning your purpose is to be in your heart, no matter where you are and no matter what you do.
- Purpose is about creative contribution. It’s about bringing our souls beauty to the planet, best, raising the overall vibration.

8. READING OTHERS:
- Reading people accurately is perhaps one of the most practical and empowering skills you can develop.
- To genuinely read another person accurately, you must respect their sovereignty.
- Ask “how’s your spirit today?” or say “I love your spirit.
- To read someone requires neutrality. Just be curious enough to learn how they manage life.

9. WHAT YOU NEED TO READ:
- Reading vibration comes easily if you breathe deeply and are calm.
- Watch how others open up and relax around you when you are tuning into their vibration accurately.
- The key to successfully doing a “what is so” reading is a willingness to spontaneously repeat what you receive without editing or censoring any of it.
- Believe your intuition if someone is speaking to you, and if it doesn’t feel like they’re telling the truth.
- Activate and strengthen your heart, energy and vibration.

10. MISC:
- Engage freely and visualization and daydream every day.
- Feeling out of place is one of the most common complaints that most people register privately, and it sometimes shows up in more subtle ways.
- We don’t know if it’s going to work out. You can’t “figure it out”. You can’t “think it forward”, but you can “feel” it.

I've read a lot of Sonia Choquette's books and I'm an avid watcher of her YouTube channel, so I feel like her lessons are ingrained in my heart.

I believe this book to be useful for the average, newly awakened soul or even as a simple back-to-basics read… however, Sonia herself mentions that this is more for intermediate intuitives.

The exposition feels highly remeniscent of all of her books collectively. "What is intuition? How does it work? Why should we listen to our intuition? How to use our intuition? Here are steps and exercises to notice and follow through with your intuition!" And then adds anecdotes of herself or others who have or have not listened to their intuition.

I love Sonia's work because she simplifies the mystery of the psychic arts and shares her personal experiences in the field, but her work in this book feels like a run-on essay, an essay just to meet word count. Her other books share similar guidance and this one doesn't feel that different from the rest. It's a great pool-side or bed-time read - especially if you're a fan of hers (like me), but the information here is repetitive and repackaged.

I listened to the audiobook in a day. It was exactly what I needed at exactly the right time. I'm grateful for finding this book, listening to it, and knowing that I will forever be changed in a positive way because of it. In fact, I liked the audiobook so much, that I bought a kindle version, so i can read it (as opposed to listening) on my own. I highly recommend this book for those who are ready to start listening to their inner knowing.

Life changing if applied

I've done a few of the exercises and already have significantly greater clarity on my purpose. Also, just knowing that I have divine intuition on my side makes me feel supported in a way no other person in the world can give me. Thank you, Sonia, for writing this book!

Another stellar book by Sonia Choquette. I listened to the audiobook and appreciated the guided meditations, inspiring stories of people who trusted their intuition beyond logic, and her no-nonsense approach to the mystical. Recommended reading for those on a path of authenticity, truth and success.

Long slog of a book

I appreciate the importance of observing others and environments with clear vision and using and trusting our intuition. But it's a very poorly written and not a very compelling book. Could have been a great chapter but not a 233 page book. Look elsewhere for a goid book on intuition.

I’ve loved Sonia Choquette’s past work, but this book felt rushed and superficial, as if it were more about staying in the spotlight than offering real insight. On top of that, the editing was shockingly bad missing words, bad punctuation, and distracting grammar issues throughout. It really pulled me out of the reading experience. Disappointed, especially from an author I use to respect.

Inspiring

I recently read a book about automatic writing and how it helps us tune into our intuition. A few days later and I read this book which offers this same powerful suggestion.
Learning to read ourselves and our environment is such a useful skill.

3.5 Be prepared for 50-100 pages of anecdotes before she gets to the practical stuff. Literally, she gives a new client example every other page. I keep thinking "she knows an awful lot of people willing to pay her $800/30-minute consult fee!" I did find her meditation and centering advice helpful, but it took a lot of page-flipping to get there.
