The Argument

Rate this book
Sometimes marriage is hard. Allie and Lewis are no strangers to the normal tiffs that couples sometimes have. It is just how they resolve their issues that makes their relationship unique. Lewis takes his time coming to find me. So much so I start to get a little worried. Have I pushed too far? Have I crossed some kind of line? I constantly worry about that. What if he stays away? I am quite serious when I say I hate real fighting between us. I can’t stand emotional distance between Lewis and myself. There are times when the arguments aren’t so simply or silly. They break my heart. The distance can last for days, driving me insane. It leaves me unable to concentrate on anything, agitated beyond belief, but worse, lonely. Lewis is so much more than my husband, more than my friend, even. Ours isn’t the vanilla cookie cutter relationship. It isn’t exactly the accepted concept of a D/s union either. We have a soul-deep connection that defies definition, and I love every second of it. Seeing Lewis cross the threshold into the room floods me with relief. His eyes, however, set off a different reaction entirely. The look he gives me in the mirror has my heart speeding in no time. The bright hazel cat eyes sparkle with determination, his jaw set firmly. Oh God, seeing him like this makes me weak. My mouth is actually watering thinking of being forced to my knees...“Come here, Allie.” The rich timbre of his voice washes over me, filling me with delicious sensual trepidation. “No.” My voice is a hell of a lot stronger than I feel. I know how this will end—I’ve been begging for it all day.
