What happens when an omega survives something that was supposed to destroy her? Calliope took that survival and embarked on a mission of revenge. Meeting her alpha, Ayden and his beta Cain along the way. But when a new alpha comes into play, Dax the assertive psychopath, Calliope has to find a balance between completing her revenge and the new man. Will she make the right choice?
Devil's pack is a horror movie inspired, pitch black OV romance. This is not for the feint of heart. You have been warned.
Sweet, spicy, dark, omegaverse. A pierced MMC, inexperienced MMC, possessive MMC's, serial unaliving, stalking. An absolute incredible book. I haven't read too many omegaverse books, but this has to be one of my favorites by far!
Ok so I’ve been thinking about whether I give this book a review or not and thought screw it I need to get this off my chest because I’m mad and there’s not a lot of reviews other then praise for this book——————————————————- Spoilers ahead please stop reading if you want to go in blind
So the first couple of chapters were ok not the best but ok but then Dax came in the relationship now I actually liked him he was great crazy but great it’s the other three I DID NOT LIKE Calliope,Ayden and cain ughhhh 😫 they were so draining it was exhausting I have read so many RH romance before and there is some jealousy in those books and rightfully so Mixing all of those males together will be hard but this book takes the cake one minute there all good everyone’s happy and the next the alpha leaves and go to his auntie‘s house because they are to focus on the new alpha but they bring him back. again everything’s good but…. Bam the omega leave because the beta turned into a half beta half omega and the two alpha only have eyes for him when he goes in to heat and she gets upset but they eventually bring her back. Next is the beta he dose the same thing the omega did out of jealousy i just got so annoying I’m just like don’t they have any communication considering it’s a pack and on to the beta half omega I really didn’t think that was necessary it just put more jealous in the mix but even though the book was dragging on and on I just keep thinking to my self it will get better it gets to the end now here’s the problem as to why I’m mad I love happy ending I can’t read any books that ends in anything other then that but I would of rather the author had just of said the end in stead of what we got…. Big spoilers ahead They did there little blog basically bragging about how they got away with being killers even gave there real names and everything 🙄 and then……. ….. The extended epilogue the omega has thyroid cancer and dies and the rest soon die after the end. You should of see my face at that moment I could of just thrown my phone at the wall I was that disappointed and annoyed because I read this whole book that’s 6 hours 59 minutes and to get that ending. No kids no happy ending just death i wish the author had put this in the disclaimer bit like oh btw the book doesn’t have a good ending sorry. ahhh lol sorry for the ranting just had to let it out.
3.5⭐️ 4🌶️ MOOD: dark, challenging, tense, sad TROPES: found family, touch her and die, family that kills together stays together? GENRES: omegaverse, dark romance, stalker romance, serial killer FAV QUOTE:
MAIN CHARACTERS: Calliope (omega), Cain (Beta), Ayden (Alpha), Dax (Alpha)
THE GOOD: The "I spit on grave" inspiration for an omegaverse was a really interesting take. The pack and pack dynamics are interesting. The Alpha/Beta/Theta/Omega history and background was a cool history lesson sneak-in that I wasn't expecting for this type of Verse so that was also really interesting. Nice spicy scene too. I really like the extended epilogue ending. THE NEUTRAL: I have a lot of notes that just say "what?" because what is happening makes no sense - especially in regards to travel or location (Canada to North Carolina in an hour?). There are some character description inconsistencies but that didn't detract from the story. Calliope is described as being big for an omega so that she's never recognized as one but then Cain says she's so tiny she barely comes up to his chest. Cain and Ayden are described as being different but then the descriptions are tall (one shorter) and blonde (darker blonde) so...kind of the same. It was just an odd choice. Some of Calliope's reactions are odd depending on the time and place and also where we're at in the story and who is around. Time also gets odd fast by measuring things with her heat at 11.5 weeks, especially towards the end of the book. THE MEH: The first 30% (Chapter 12?) of the book is difficult to read. There is an author note about 2 of the POVs but I'm not if it's that, the author's style, or just bad writing - I'm also not sure if it improves or I just go used to it. There are plot inconsistencies especially when comparing that first 30% with the ending blogs but some basic stuff like Ayden's family and background don't match up. The ending also felt rushed and even though there was a plan - too easily wrapped up.
Possible unpopular opinion: I think the Final Warning/Extended Ending should be the real ending.
CW: sexual abuse, sexual assault, blood, gun violence, violence TW provided by author: discussions of abuse, graphic scenes of torture and murder, stalking, discussions of human trafficking, violence against a minority group, law enforcement connections, victim blaming, castration, mentions of child abuse, mentions of child-killing, partner death, an optional non-traditional HEA DISCLAIMER: I received an advance review copy. This is my honest review.
Devil's Pack is the first book in a new series, appropriately called Toxicverse. I have never read @authorarsynquinn before but I will definitely have to check more out from them! I have read omegaverse before (I love omegaverse!) but this is definitely a bit different than what I am used to, but maybe I just haven't read enough styles? I do wish there was a bit more world building; I would love to know more about the designation tests and why some businesses are mixed designations and some aren't, etc... As far as plot goes, the gist is that fmc, Calliope, is an omega and also a serial 🔪. Her pack includes an alpha and a beta that would do literally anything for her, and eventually they add in an additional alpha that is also a serial 🔪. The book follows how they all come together while meanwhile she needs to continue her quest for vengeance. I have to say that I can see why this is more of a pitch black romance, because it is DARK. Definitely mind your triggers when it comes to violence and gore because there is a lot of it here. This book is a little lengthy but ends up reading quickly as I couldn't put it down; I had it read in 2 days! The spice is off the scale and written really well. I loved each of our characters, and I especially loved how sweetly Dax's inexperience is written. I mentioned previously I wish there was a little more world building and my only other issues are just a few things I didn't quite follow. Sometimes during conversations I had a hard time following who was speaking at times. I wish we had revisited what some of the mythology meant. All things that didn't detract from the story, just things that would have helped me understand even better. Side note - a very interesting thing is that you get an optional ending with this book and a GIANT warning before reading it. I admit that part of me wishes I hadn't read it. It's the kind of ending that sticks with you for a while, but is beautifully done. I received an advanced review copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.
This was a new author for me. Based on the blurb, I was excited to read this book.
The story takes an unconventional approach to a wolf pack. The usual characteristics of packs, heats, rutting, and marking are present here, but there is no actual shifting and very small pack size. It was an interesting take and found the twist on this genre inventive and enjoyable.
The "pack" consists of Calliope, our FML, her Alpha Ayden, and her Beta Cain. Calliope is a serial killer, but of Alphas that have left victims in their wake. A vigilante of sorts. She connects with Ayden and Cain who are already together and they form their pack. Cain is also killer for hire, while their Alpha Ayden is an FBI analyst keeping the heat off of both Cain and Calliope. They all have some level of trauma and mental illness and are fighting their demons throughout the story. This seems to be their draw to one another. Increasingly difficult heats has the pack searching for a third, and this brings Dax into the mix, another serial killer with a boatload of mental health history as well. Their combined issues somehow works for them and brings them closer as a pack.
There are some small plot holes throughout the book, but this did not keep me from wanting to finish. I enjoyed having each character's perspective as this is written in multiple POVs, but would have liked to see just a little more character development. I did not feel as connected to each character as I would normally like.
The spice level was good and included MM interaction as well. Check the triggers before reading as there are many in this book.
Overall, this was a good read and am looking forward to more from this author.
I wish I could do half stars cause I'd do 3.5 but it doesn't deserve 4. .5 star deducted for plot holes .5 star deducted for the rushed ending .5 star deducted for the repetition of character conflict
I had such high hopes and expectations for this plotline. Haunting Adeline meets werewolves/omegaverse meets I spit on your grave revenge (which I found very lackluster) meets why choose spicy.
The characters were great, the detail behind them was amazing. The story itself had so much potential.
I had never read a werewolf/omegaverse book before so that took me a while to get used to. However I also realized quickly as much as it isn't my thing I'm not going to yuck anyone's yum.
That aside the beginning I found to be way too much information all at once and then for there to be no consistent reminders about the important details of each character was a touch of a let down.
There were a few times I had to go back a chapter or two cause I was confused as to how we got here. And so many times the sex was at points where I was like "why are we f*cking right now?" I also found certain terms extremely repetitive. I mean you can't interchange much with human/omegaverse types.
I found the plot holes got larger and larger towards the end as if it was rushed to finish. I feel like a few times things should have been opened up more and described in more detail. Adding a good opportunity for another easy 200 pages.
I had super high hopes for this but was let down. I just needed more from it and it lacked in all the worst ways while simultaneously still being a good main story. It was my hardest book to avoid DNF. Just wasn't for me.
This is a omega verse novel. Everything is this novel revolves around scents and bonds. "Home, she smells like home.” Which somehow makes it all that much spicier.
Calliope is the omega that this novel is centered around. Each member in the pack plays a role that the other members can not. It takes all of them to make up the pack. In Calliope's pack is her alpha, Aiden and beta, Cain. Beta typically insinuates a weaker or less than person but than doesn't accurately describle Cain at all. Yes, Cain is a beta but far from weak in my eyes. It's an alpha's job to take care of any beta's or omega. In this world, omega's or beta's can also be male or female. Calliope and Cain are a handful! It is equal opportunity love in this pack. Calliope is both special and traumatized. I wonder if the smells Calliope smells are meant to be comforting and feel like home because obviously Calliope found the right people?
There are multiple serial killers in and around Raleigh. Basically they are all trying to figure out who each serial killer is and why. In turn, the serial killer smells, all horrible smells because who he is killing are not meant for him. It turns out this group is many, many things hidden in plain sight. " I was sure at that moment that this omega was going to be the greatest threat I had ever faced. One that I would conquer." Can an omega and beta belong to more than one alpha?
This book is seriously missing some fan art! Do yourself a favor and when there's a caution to stop reading, that the happy ending will be ruined, heed that warning! Because I did not stop reading and definitely was not expecting THAT! 😭 Now I wished I would've stopped reading.

Dark - Twisted Omegaverse - RH - HFN - Optional Ending with Lots of Warnings
This is only my 3rd omegaverse style book so the fact that I put RH above may just be a 'duh.' I just don't have enough knowledge of that genre to know for sure so I threw it in there. Mixing the dark romance world with the omegaverse/RH worlds was a pretty good idea as I do enjoy a dark romance and an RH. I've only read one other popular one that mixed the those two worlds. I have to say, this book exceeded the current popular one by a LOT.
It might have been me, but I did get lost a few times where I had to go backwards and remind myself of what I wasn't getting. Also, this is going to be very vague and probably won't make sense as I don't want to spoil anything, but I struggled when 3 of the 4 MCs had the exact same insecurity hit them at different times. Then they all had the same reaction to 'fix' that insecurity. I get that it's a legit issue but I do wish in the book maybe one or two had the same issue but different reactions or different insecurities or something. To me, it just created repetition that just wasn't really needed. But I'm also weird about repetition so take that as you will. I also wish we had learned more about the history and the hows of the royal alphas/theta/beta/omega deal. Maybe more of that will come out in later books.
All in all, I enjoyed the book. Like I mentioned earlier, there is a certain dark RH romance I've read within the last year that this pretty much blows out of the water in my opinion. I even didn't hate the extra ending. I'm normally an HEA only type of person. This is a HFN with the option to read an additional ending. The author gives tons of warnings to turn back now if you don't want the final part of the story. Maybe that's why I was more than okay with it. That and my FOMO wouldn't let me miss out so I read it. Frankly, I'm glad I did. Is it heartbreaking? Yes, but I really thought it was a good way to finish out this story.
Calliope is an omega and loved deeply by her pack consisting of Cain, her Beta and Dax, her Alpha. From the outside they are a hardworking group but underneath there is a dark side to them all. Calliope having suffered horrific abuse and trauma at the hands of her first love has made it her mission to annihilate her abusers and who would suspect a sweet omega of being a serial killer? With Cain, who has his own niche skill set of ending lives, at her side she takes her revenge all while Ayden uses his FBI job as a way of keeping an eye out for them both. When another serial killer encroaches on her territory Ayden starts connecting the dots but a spanner is thrown in the works when Calliope goes in to heat and Cain brings home Dax, our new serial killer. His list of kills is long and his tastes wide but there’s something about Calliopes pack that soothes the killer in him. This was a really enjoyable read and I really liked that it was darker than most omega verse books I’ve read. These were very damaged characters but somehow they all found their way to one another and worked through their damaged upbringings whilst getting their revenge.
About a third of the way into this, once I wrapped my brain around what was going on and who was who, I was excited to see where this went. The plot was really intriguing. I love a good revenge story. But around the halfway mark, it was falling apart. My eyes were rolling out of my head, or I was saying, "wait, what?". The characters lacked any real depth. If their feelings were hurt, they ran away. If they argued, they had sex. If they were happy, they had sex. There was a lot of sex. And typically that isn't a problem for me.... however I found the scenes to be repetitive and bland. The knife play got to be over the top. There was no initial Dax + Calliope scene for some reason. Dax seemed more invested in Cain even though Calliope was the central bond. We find out something interesting about Cain, but then it is just dropped? The main revenge plot is a holey mess. I always feel terrible for writing negative reviews, especially for debut authors, but this just wasn't it. It came off as soap opera-y. I'm sure they had a great vision in their head for the story, but it just didn't translate to paper.
what do you get when you bring together two serial killers, an assassin working for the CIA and an FBI tech analyst? utter chaos.
the timeline for this all made it a little messy for me and the pack dynamics honestly didn’t work too well. when it was just Calliope, Ayden and Cain, they were like three peas in a pod but a particularly rough heat caused them to find another alpha to help. Dax shows up and issues start arising. Everyone just starts being ignored in favor of others and honestly not enough actual time was spent working their issues out.
about the 40 - 60% mark, new things get added to the story that necessarily didn’t need to be added and don’t add a lot of umph to the story since they get mentioned once and then never again. i was fighting to finish the story purely because i was getting annoyed with the whole “i’m being ignored. let me run away.” or “there’s no need for me. let me run away”
running away solves nothing and sometimes if someone sounds like a good idea during a desperate time, maybe wait until you actually communicate like adults before convincing yourself its true love.
🔸️ I liked the concept for MCs, the unconventional, vengeful omega, alpha with hidden trauma, supportive &curious beta and psycho second Alpha. Each character is interesting and together they have good chemistry.
🔸️I didn't like the plot execution. The ideas are interesting, but I was not conviced by the sequence of events. Also for such long story, I was expecting deeper and more extensive world building.
🔸️ The author made an attempt to describe several, serious mental health problems (I give extra points for courage to do it). All 4 MCs are damaged in this department and all 4 have emotional, intense reactions. However, I think it is simply too much and it negatively impacts the plot's dynamic.
🔸️The spice is good. There are plenty of steamy scenes (MM included) with various kinks (breath play, knife play, blood play, pain play).
🔸️ Overall, the story has it pros and cons. If you like "why choose" omegaverse with darker vibes, consider giving it a try. 😉
When I read the blurb for this I knew I had to read this book.
Devils Pack is a horror movie inspired dark romance/dark omegaverse, so be mindful of the TW/CW as some scenes and topics may not be suitable for some.
I enjoy a good omegaverse, though Devils Pack put a different spin on it which I found enjoyable. The story follows Calliope an omega on her quest for revenge on those that did her wrong and her pack Ayden, Cain, and Dax, I love the variety of personalities of the characters and the optional ending was interesting I haven’t read a book with that before so that was a first. I enjoyed the multiple POVs so you were able to get all their different perspectives. I also enjoyed that Arsyn also shed light on a few mental health issues (which all characters suffer with one) Overall this was a good read, I will admit there were a few times I got a bit confused with things but it didn’t take away from the story. Definitely recommend for the omegaverse fans out there that like a bit of a twist on it.
3.5 This was such a unique Omegaverse romance, I loved that it was a pack made up of serial killers and that the whole pack was morally grey! Thats not something you often see in omegaverse.
The Stalker vibes are immaculate, and the spice was spicing! I really enjoyed getting to know the characters and their dark pasts and what made them "Tick". Calliope is an Alpha-Killing mastermind and I love her for it! there is also a 2nd ending/epilogue you can choose to read...read that at your own Risk! you might not find the happy ending your wanting if you continue to reada.
I will say that throughout the book there were quite a few moments where each pack member seemed very irrationally insecure while they were transitioning the newest pack member in, and it was driving me crazy because I love a confident unhinged character which was how they started out. This was explained though and the reasoning was actually really intriguing I would have loved to hear more about the history behind it.
When I was starting reading this book I wasn’t prepared it will be this chaotic. I mean the author said right in the beginning that it will be somewhat chaotic and sometimes confusing because each one of the character struggle with different mental health illness. But for me personally it was hard to enjoy reading this sometimes. Timeline of the each event was too blurry for me and really hard to keep up what’s really going on. I like the story but hate that I get to know each person from one chapter at the end. Why? Almost whole book I was trying to relate to for example Ayden, and trying to understand why he act like that or why he thinks something only to get to the end of the book and in last two pages get to know his whole childhood trauma etc. Really hate that so much.
So yeah, kind of liked it but not the whole time while reading and I think I don’t will be reading the second book in this series.
I KNOW I WAS WARNED, but still ending chatters my heart…. So fucking sad…
I’m not really sure what I was expecting with this book, but D. A. M. N. that was outstanding! Super dark, horror, serial killer OmegaVerse. Which was definitely a first for me! Calliope was our Omega, Cain was our Beta (ish), and the two Alphas were Ayden and Dax. Strange mix of serial killer and law enforcement found family, but it totally worked!
Very spicy and the spice was dark too. This was definitely not a light and fluffy book so if you are expecting that, please WALK AWAY!!
I should have listened to final warning and not read the extended epilogue. Dear Lord in Heaven, that ripped my heart out and tore it into tiny pieces! It’s been awhile since a book made me cry. So thanks for that Arysn Quinn!! 😂
But if you are into dark romance, and you like yours a little bloody, you should 100% check this one out! It is well worth it!!! (Even with the soul crushing epilogue!!)
At first I was unsure I was going to like this book. I didn't really get into at first. It wasn't slow but it wasn't a style of writing I was familiar with. Once I focused on reading it more I couldn't stop. Having an entire pack share a lust for violence was interesting. I love the "mission" type of serial killers these characters are. Not going to lie when Calliope got needy it was annoying. Then I remembered what it was like being on my monthly. The way Ayden had a calming affect on her trauma was wonderful. Cain's way of seeing beauty in the little details made you want to protect this man. Now Dax was definitely a curve ball. However, he was my favorite of them all. The fact that he was capable of caring for people deeply showed that for the right person or people even the mosth ruthless will crumble for. The ending broke my heart. Devil's Pack is not just a must read it's a you have to read.
📚 The Best!!! An Omega, Calliope, an Alpha Ayden and Cain 🥵 a Beta (Mine). They are in a pack together. Enter Dax (a pure psychopath). I just can’t tell you more about Dax, it will spoil it. As the story unfolds you find out there are four serial killers, The Blue Ridge Butcher, The Asheville Omega Slayer, The Pack Annihilator and The Alpha Ripper. Now let me explain that everything does not appear as they seem! The suspense had me glued to the page. Cain and Ayden will protect Calliope at all cost! 🥰 My favorite quote "There is nothing in this world, no man, woman, child, or act of God that could keep me from coming back to you. The world could end, and I would fight every demon in he!! to have the chance to be graced by your presence for even one more second!” 🥰 🥰 🥰 ⭐️ I absolutely recommend this book. I read it on KU and I am definitely buying it. I love the cover!
I was so excited to read this book. It sounded very promising and interesting to read. Loved how it started off unconventional with an existing pack. An omega, a beta and an Alpha. Calliope were having difficult heats, and they needed assistance from another alpha. That’s where Dax came in.
The story started really good, but I struggled a bit with some plot holes, and got confused a bit. I felt like the book jumped from one thing to another, without finishing or explaining the existing plot/situation. The trauma and past with all the characters were heavy. I missed more backstory there.
It had a lot of great spice, and I liked all the characters really well. Even if this book didn’t completely resonate with me, it might be right up your alley 🫶🏻
I’m normally a huge alpha/omega book girly so when this book presented itself I knew I had to read it. I am ALSO a huge true crime, dark/twisted, make your husband and family concerned about your mental health girly so you know… this book was perfect for me lol. I loved all of the characters and the multiple POVs. Bringing Dax into the dynamic and watching him go from Mr. “I hate omegas … murder/ death” to Mr. “I hate omegas except mine bc she smells good and I’ll protect my pack but also still murder and death”… was a great character progression. This book is a dark romance so check the trigger warnings! Very much enjoyed and would read more from this author.

I’m not sure what my thoughts were going into this book, but I haven’t had much luck with the OV books. So I started it expecting it to go the same way, but I was pleasantly surprised. After a chapter or two I was sucked in. This was definitely my type of book, but is very dark and gory. There was only one character I would have liked to know more about, he felt important to the story but his past and character aren’t as clear as it should have been. The end helped a little but not enough and too late. The ending of this book killed me, but I won’t ruin anything! I would definitely recommend this book if you love OV and/or dark horror romance.
Extremely spicy and dark, why chose, omegaverse. Callie and her men are trying to find their footing together. Will the addition of another alpha complete the pack or tear it apart. This book contains staking, murder, knife play, heat, knots, pierced MMC. I loved the way the characters found their way together. I did not like that if they ran into a problem the characters tended to run away instead of trying to work things out, but overall loved this book.
This is the first book that I have read from Arsyn Quinn, but I am looking forward to reading more. Please make sur that you check you trigger warnings before you read this book. When I say dark, I mean really dark.
They are bad guys. Fine. Some people are into the really dark stuff. It's not generally my cup of tea, but halfway through the book, I still thought this might be a 3 star read. But somewhere along the way, the plot just got away from the author, the continuity was lost, and it went downhill from there. 75% of the way thru i wondered if the author had lost interest in writing the book and had forced their way to the finish. By the end I wondered if they had taken bets on how bad they could make the book and still have people willingly read it. I really can't explain why I finished reading this one.
I don’t even know how to describe how good this book was. It’s one of those reads where you finish it and just stare into space, talk about a book hangover. I absolutely loved it!
This is a new author for me and I can’t wait to read their future work. Check the trigger warnings this book is horror inspired, and pitch black.
I loved all the characters especially Calliope. This book is dark, spicy, has revenge, and intense. If you like horror, pitch black romances with spice..pick this one up! ♡
I want to start off by saying that this is a live child between horror and omegaverse which just so happens to be some of my favorite genres. There were times when I got a bit confused between the characters and wish they each had more distinctive “voices”, I will say it didn’t take away from the story. And while I enjoyed the entire book, the extra ending took it over the edge from simple enjoyment to something even more. It was unexpected but brilliant and fit the characters exactly right.
I will say this book honestly surprised me in a good way! I loved the horror/omegaverse mix. It was a dark read and I found it refreshing after reading more light books than dark. I am glad I was able to read this book it was a good mix and just what I needed.
The plot and characters were very good and I wasn’t expecting things the way they went it definitely kept me guessing.
Overall, very good book. I would definitely recommend if anyone is looking for a horror/omegaverse mix. Very good read!
A twisted story about love, revenge and resilience, has a triggers list with a mile long but they only add intensity to the plot. So many twists and turns that kept me on the edge all along the story. The characters are absolutely delicious in their darkness. A special mention to a opcional ending that's absolutely heart breaking. My praise to Arsyn Quinn for this mind wrecking story!
Extremely spicy omegaverse. MMMF with all different kink types. The spice was really really good included MM action. The plot didn’t really get going much til the latter part of the book for me. I do like that the author tried to explain and describe different mental health issues, and how they affected the characters. Overall, pretty good, although I feel like this should have been about 100 pages shorter.
Holy crap was this an emotional roller-coaster. It took me a little while to get into this book and digest all the backstory in it, but once I did, I read through this so fast! The little details in this book amaze me! It's an omegaverse, but I've never read anything like it before!! If you are looking for a darker type of omegaverse, take the time to read this! It's soo good! (Psa check the trigger warnings before you read this!)
I loved the characters and their relationships with each other. I am a bit confused at the omegaverse world where humans are humans but display shifter pack behaviors (except of course for the actual shifting.) However I believe that is my hang up and no reflection on the book itself.
That being said....an omegaverse with a pack who has serial unalivers AND FBI agents....how can you pass that up?!
