Amelia is an investigative journalist attending they Mayor's gala. It's there that she sees Lucas and is captivated by his gorgeous body and presence. After dancing together for a bit, Amelia makes an uncharacteristic move and takes Lucas home for a one night stand. They definitely have a spicy connection and are still thinking about each other days later, but they did not exchange names or contact details.

Amelia has been receiving credible threats from the dangerous criminals that her recently published article has outed. Since her testimony will help convict them, they want her dead. The District Attorney reaches out to his army turned bodyguard buddy as a protective detail for her and surprise, it turns out to be Lucas.

To say Lucas and Amelia are surprised would be an understatement. Lucas tries to be warm towards her but Amelia is cold and closed off, barely speaking to him or looking at him. She actually behaves really rudely and then wonders why Lucas pulls away from her when it's clear that his feelings were hurt.

These two are still very attracted to each other and Lucas fights his desire saying that he needs to focus on keeping her safe and Amelia behaves coldly because she is afraid. It goes back and forth a lot over the week that they spend together and they never get on the same page emotionally.

After Amelia testifies, they go their separate ways and try to forget about each other unsuccessfully. It takes a couple of weeks for Lucas to deal with his issues and to go after his girl but she doesn't trust his intentions since he so easily let her go. These two would not have gotten together if they had not talked individually with their good friends who encouraged them to go after each other for a chance at something special.

It is by no means a calm journey to their HEA but they eventually sit down and talk and get on the same page and express their feelings.
I recommend this easy to read little novella.

Captivated by my bodyguard is well written with a great storyline where Amelia finds herself on the recieving end of threats following one of her articles being published and is in need of protection. Lucas is hired to protect Amelia but when they meet each other they realise that they had a one night stand but since that night they couldn't forget each other but neither of them know how the other feels. Feelings develop while Amelia is under protective custody but Lucas tries not to act on his feelings due to remaining professional and also history.

The characters relationship develops throughout the book and makes you feel their emotions through the writing style.

The storyline has a good balance of drama and action keeping you engaged and wanting to not put the book down.

This was my first book by Colby Quinn and definately won't be the last.

Amelia and Lucas hook up right as Amelia is wrapping up an intense report as part of her job as an investigative journalist, and sparks fly between them. And then Amelia starts receiving threats in the run up to her having to testify against the people she exposed in her report. The District Attorney calls in his bodyguard friend to help protect Amelia, and surprise, surprise - his bodyguard friend is Lucas!

Lucas has to fight to keep his focus on protecting Amelia, according to his job, while falling for her as he learns more and more about her while keeping her in protective custody.

This is a fun story and a fairly quick and easy read. It's got a really great HEA as well.

This is the second book I have read by Colby and let me just say that you will not find a better writer than Colby when it comes to reading her romance books. She has this magical way of grabbing your entire HEART and ATTENTION with not only the GREAT characters but the storyline and HEA endings as well. So, think of one of your favorite authors and then just picture this author as being in that line up as well. So, grab this book about Lucas and Amelia and let the show begin.

This is Lucas and Amelia’s story.
This is a well written action packed story, with emotions, danger, suspense, intrigue, undeniable chemistry, enemies / lovers, forced proximity, drama, tension, and love, which leads to an engaging and entertaining page turner.

I really enjoyed reading this book and I highly recommend it!! If you like romance, suspense and vulnerability by both sexes you will not be disappointed in the characters and storyline by Colby Quinn's latest book . I look forward to checking out her other Books. Enjoy!!!

Really Nice

I loved this story. It was heartwarming to watch as these characters soften towards each other. The excitement this book portrayed kept your interest. There is nothing like a good romance to keep your attention.
