If he doesn’t love me like Jax does Hollis then I don’t want it! Uhhh this story was so cute! I had 3 chapters left for the longest time that I didn’t want to finish because then the story would be over. I think I may love second chance romances now!

It's after midnight. I'm tired from working all day, but I stayed up reading this book (ARC copy, woot woot!!) because I simply could not stop.
Such a phenomenal story, told in a gritty, hard, real way that makes the reader feel like they're standing on the sidelines while these events are happening.
The characters are well developed, and the depiction of hard themes is expertly done.
Get your copy. Ignore everything around you to read it - and bask in the glow of the Little Moon 😍😍😍

What would you do if the boy next door, who broke your heart, returns home and wants to be in your life like he never left it?

Hollis is a character worth knowing. When Jax left town she had to learn how to live without having him by her side. The change was hard for her, but she fought every day to be able to stand on her own two feet and not think about him. But when she is finally starting to move on from him, Jax returns.

Jax expected a warm welcome, maybe even a hug from Hollis when he returns to his home town, but instead he got the cold shoulder. He doesn’t understand why ‘his one that got one’ won’t give him the time of day. But Jax refuses to let her go a second time.

Hollis and Jax’s love story had me near tears the entire time. This story felt like a long and meaningful meditation on mental health.

Favorite Quote (among many): "Your feelings are valid and the passion behind them is what makes them feel overwhelming. You have to navigate them the best way that suits you."

This might be my favorite in the series. Jax is a dream. Yeah, he may have some vices... but don't we all? He never gave up on Hollis. He supported her, he believed in her, he was always working his way back to her, even when she didn't know/feel it. Hollis is smart and beautiful and broken but stronger in spite of it. They are the perfect foil. Like the others in the set, this has all the sweet and spice you want, but the magic is in the healing, which is so beautifully handled.

I suppose a "miscommunication" trope is heavily present here, but this is one of the few cases where not only did I not mind it, I think it was crucial. AJ writes such comforting (?) stories. There is always an edge to them, something rough and painful, but that is because she writes real life. It is not always pretty. However, she always leaves you with hope and healing. The characters and the dynamics always feel familiar even if you never personally experienced it, you'll have no issue relating to it because she makes you believe it. makes you FEEL it all with them.

Another knockout. Perfect addition to the library. love love loved it.

Besties! I know what you’re thinking…Kiki…why 3/5 stars? Let’s talk about it 😘

Jaxon Monroe is moving back home to Texas from Colorado to appease his mother. But after being back home, he’s realizing that trying to live up to expectations is not what it’s cracked up to be.
Hollis Mendoza is beautiful, confident, persistent, and broken. Healing from a traumatic event, she has come back stronger than ever…only to be given a second chance with her childhood best friend. Only Problem? She’s dating their childhood bully.

I absolutely LOVED getting Jaxon’s POV and background. It was wanted…needed…and I’m so SO happy about it! I wanted MORE of Jaxon’s relationship with his family. The dynamic of what growing up was like for him (more so than the brief flashbacks we do get). While I love that we get Jaxon’s backstory, this book just didn’t do it for me which made me so sad.

Second chance, friends to lovers, slow burn miscommunication romance with talk of self harm, trauma, etc. NOW I realize that 3/4 of the tropes are not my favorites. I understand that FULLY that is my own choice. HOWEVER, if the book is written in a way I can connect with the characters and the story, I am temporarily in love with these tropes (Love & Other words, A Thousand Boy Kisses, Josh & Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating etc). I personally felt like there could’ve been more trauma (yeah yeah, I need help it’s fine💀) or at least a deeper dive of the depression and trauma.
I also think that Jaxon’s trauma was just glossed over to have the HEA while we’ve been solely focused on Hollis’ trauma that it didn’t do him complete justice.

Now that we have completely aired out my grievances, I am so absolutely blessed & grateful that AJ has given me a chance to read and review this book. Bc we couldn’t read the first two and just not read the third lol
While this book was not for me, if the tropes mentioned are up your alley, for SURE check this book out! 💜

I normally do mini reviews just to give the gist/feel of the book but I'm not going to be able to do that with this book. I've been reading lost and found by A.J Nicole and I don't think I've ever resonated with a book as much. Now it's not magical and witches and it is a slow burn but this book has had me talking about it at work and thinking about it non-stop especially the female character, I was reading this book and hollis (female character) suffers with alot of personal shit, she's talking about what happened to make her go through what she has, and when I got to the scene I read it and the first thing I thought was REALLY IS THAT IT ? it seemed like something so small so silly, but as I read on there was something that I couldn't quite put my finger on and then I realised, it's not small and silly and I know that because it's happened to me ! (Not the same reason) the thing with mental health is it can literally be anything it can be something massive and something soo tiny but its also the spiral after, I feel that as people we judge ourselves too much and its super easy to say that but I am one of the worse we over think things and add high intense anxiety to that and its just a great big mess, am I enough am I skinny enough, are they judging me, do they know what I've been through, are they talking about me. This story deals with all of that, it's not a big dramatic change in someone's life it's one tiny event but it's how the female character has dealt with that and the impact that they felt through it all. I absolutely loved this story and the depth of it. It's really made me think and relate as a person that has suffered 2 mental breakdowns I resonated with this book alot more than I actually thought. I've been feeling sad all week and crying at silly things (my husband called me old for reading 😂) and I believe it's because I molded so much with this character that I felt how she felt. The relationship between the two characters is a love lost and found (hence the title) its how something so small can have no impact on one person but turn the others upside down. There is plenty of spice in this book but the deeper story line behind all the spice and laughing is my favourite, AJ Nicole has definitely made this book one of my favourites of the year ❤️ xx

Where in the world should I even start?!

I absolutely DEVOURED this slow-burn STUNNER OF A GEM in a single sitting (yep, pulled an all-nighter!) and boy, did I eat up every juicy detail of it!

AJ Nicole's ability to evoke a wide array of emotions truly shines through in ‘Lost and Found’. The roller coaster of feelings that the book takes you on is both heartbreaking and heartwarming that leaves you longing for more of Jaxon and Hollis. It's a story that resonates deeply and will stay with you long after you've finished reading. The way the words just tug at your heartstrings, making you feel a painful but absolutely beautiful bliss.

Hollis reminded me so much of myself - raw, real, stunning, and beautifully flawed! Her stubborn streak mirrored mine that gave me mix of emotion and understanding that hit way close to home. While at times her stubbornness frustrated me, I could also understand exactly how she was feeling and why she at first refused to be vulnerable with Jaxon.

Jaxon is the ultimate package - from his heart-melting words, his fierce protective vibe, his love for Hollis, tattoos AND MOTORCYCLE - he had me totally smitten! I just couldn't help but dive into the deep end of adoration for all things Jax! I could also relate to Jax's battle with his demons of addiction and the never-ending struggle of never feeling quite enough, no matter how hard you try.

Through the ups and downs, the triumphs and setbacks, Hollis and Jax’s story reminded me that it's okay to not have all the answers and that it's the journey itself that shapes us into who we are meant to become.

Ohhhh and let’s not forget to mention the sizzling chemistry and tension between Hollis and Jax - phew you had me begging for more!

All in all, ‘Lost and Found’ is an amazing story that touches the reader’s soul and reminds us of the beauty nestled within our emotions. It portrays perfectly how even the tiniest ripple in life can create waves of change in how we see ourselves and move forward. ‘Lost and Found’ is a beacon of light, that shows us to embrace the beauty in our emotions and to cherish the unique essence that makes us who we are, past trauma and all.

AJ, you are an angel for letting me dive head-first into this mind-blowing book ahead of time! It had me bawling my eyes out, giggling, and head over heels for Jax and Hollis in just a FEW PAGES. Thank you so much for writing a story that so many of us, myself included, needed to hear.

I am so SO proud of how far this series has come, and I'm thrilled to be along for the ride!

P.S. Hollis and Jaxon are now my ride-or-die faves and Jax is now my book husband!

Let's talk about Lost and Found by AJ Nicole. I was given this book as an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Lost & Found is the third book in the Pain and Pleasure series. This novel follows Hollis and Jax, who were best friends and inseparable till one game of Spin the Bottle changed both of their lives. This book features childhood best friends, friends to lovers, miscommunication, and a mild age gap.

I have rated this book as a ⭐⭐⭐.5 stars, rounding to ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I want to start off by stating that although I am rating this on a rounded scale, it does not mean I did not enjoy the book. I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline and getting to see the character's growth AJ wrote about. I just personally feel the miscommunication trope presented in this particular book wasn't for me.

I enjoyed the overall idea of this novel. At the beginning of Lost & Found, we see the strong emotions Hollis faces when the man she wants nothing to do with comes hurtling back into her life like nothing happened. My one complaint is that I felt the middle of the story lacked consistency. To me, the middle was just an unnecessary filler that dragged out for 200 pages. I say this because Hollis was constantly not opening up.

I did heavily enjoy the premise of the book and the character dynamic for the most part. We got to see the impact that rejection can have on someone, especially during the developmental stage of life. I also enjoyed getting both POVs. I feel that the dual POV opened up a lot of information to make both characters more likable and for the reader to understand better where each character is coming from.

I did find it hard to finish this book because of Hollis's repetitive behavior. I understand that her heart was broken, and that led to depression, but her refusal to tell Jax what he did was frustrating. I understand this is supposed to be a miscommunication trope, but it got to the point where I just thought she was being immature.

Although Hollis frustrated me as a reader, AJ did an amazing job of giving these characters a happy ending and mending the wounds of their trauma.

I also enjoyed the character cameo we got!

Overall Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️

My thoughts ~ I loveee me some Jax, Hollis on the other hand ughh she was so stubborn at first I wanted to shake her awake lol
BUTTTT the redemption for me with Hollis was about 50% in. I ended up absolutely adoring everything between this couple. They have so much to unpack and go through and at times both of them are so stubborn that you feel nothing will ever end in happiness…

I feel reading the trigger warnings is a great idea always but definitely read them if you have had or have struggles in mental health as well as,

The first bit there is miscommunication which may be a trigger, it might be infuriating at times but just know that it’s needed for the story, between the two characters while just trying to figure out their feelings and where things went wrong when they were childhood best friends, now trying to navigate being adults but still having all those pent up feelings that were never spoken. Don’t worry because all though they may have some miscommunications at first it turns into beautiful communication and two people expressing their feelings later in the book.

This is a beautiful second Chance romance, not without Jax always being persistent toward Hollis and making something more for hopes of a relationship and never giving up. He would go to the ends of the earth for Hollis. There was so much growth in Hollis for me as well she was breaking down her walls and letting him in after she swears she hates him for breaking her heart all those years ago. But will she let him back in for that chance to make it into something great?

I’m telling you, read. The. book 😍

There is definitely great spice after a bit of a slow burn but it was well worth the wait 😍 Jax has a way with his words…….

So does Hollis 😉

“ Down. On. Your. Knees”

“Four, three, two…” “Happy birthday, Holli,”

Holli was the prettiest girl in the world. But now…Hollis. She's the prettiest f*cking woman in the world.

I want to thank AJ Nicole for the Arc in exchange for an honest review.

Reding Lost and Found was like being on an emotional roller coaster that I honestly didn’t want to get off. The way you can feel the pain and emotion from the characters through AJ’s writing is something I have never read in a book. This book was so different than others.

Jax and Hollis have been best friends since forever, when Jax moves away something happens and they stop talking. Jax is now back but Hollis wants nothing to do with him. Jax had a lot of groveling to do and when it gets resolved they become stronger as individuals and together. My heart absolutely shattered from Hollis and the struggles that she went through. I can feel the raw pain she was feeling and I understand the push and pull that was happening. I was a little angry during the beginning of the book because she was being stubborn but as I progressed in the book I understood her a lot more.

Jax was the absolute sweetest man I have ever been introduced to in a book. He would give up everything to have Hollis in his life again, he just wanted to know what transpired so he could fix it. I understand his reasoning for what happened but I wish they would have just communicated, it would have saved them the heart break. I understand why he got frustrated with Hollis, my heart sank in that moment but I think they needed to have it so they can finally discuss it. I think the trauma needed to happen for them to grow as individuals so that they are better for one another,

The angst, the heart dropping feelings, the sweet moments, the glimpses of the past, the spice was just incredible. This book was such an amazing and beautiful read!!!!

I recently had the pleasure of delving into Lost & Found, and I must say that it left a profound impact on me. From beginning to end, there wasn't a single aspect of this dark romance that failed to captivate me.

The slow burn pacing of the narrative was a masterstroke, building tension and anticipation until it erupted into a fiery climax that left me breathless. A.J Nicole's skillful navigation of sensitive topics such as self-harm, mental health, and addiction added layers of depth and authenticity to the story, making it more than just a typical romance.

The FMC & MMC in this book were expertly crafted, their personalities rich and multifaceted, drawing me into their world with ease. However, I must admit that the stubbornness of the female main character did test my patience at times. While it added complexity to her character, there were moments when it felt somewhat frustrating.

In this best friends to enemies to lovers story, i witness a dynamic shift in the relationship between Jax and Hollis who start off as close friends, only to have circumstances or misunderstandings drive a wedge between them, turning them into bitter enemies. The transformation from allies to adversaries was filled with tension, conflict, and raw emotions as Jax and Hollis navigated their new roles on opposite sides.

However, as the story progresses, i saw Jax and Hollis confront their differences, confront their feelings, and slowly begin to peel back the layers of animosity to reveal the underlying connection and unresolved emotions that have been simmering beneath the surface. This gradual realization leads to moments of vulnerability, forgiveness, and ultimately, a rekindling of their bond that blossoms into a deep and passionate love.

This journey from enemies to lovers is a powerful and emotional arc that delves into themes of growth, redemption, and the undeniable pull of fate. It's a rollercoaster of emotions that kept me invested in the characters' evolution and rooting for their happily ever after.

Overall, Lost & Found is a compelling and intense read that will linger in your thoughts long after you turn the final page. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a dark romance that deftly explores the complexities of human emotions and relationships.

This book will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions so please make sure to read trigger warnings! AJ has such a talent for writing that expresses such emotion and feeling. You will feel a spectrum of different emotions from this book, including highs and lows.

I really enjoyed seeing a different side to Jax in this book when compared to his character in Crash and Burn. You get to truly understand who he is as a person and the depth his character has. After leaving his job and deciding to move back home, he is determined to find his best friend who he hasn’t talked to in 11 years. She was basically the driving force of him going back home, and he doesn’t quite understand why she cut all ties with him. You can truly feel his pain as he tries to grasp what happened with Hollis and trying to mend their relationship.

Hollis was a very multi-faceted character who went through a wide array of emotions in this book. It was heart breaking to read from her perspective and to see what she went through. It makes you better understand why she acts the way she does toward Jax. While I may not be the biggest fan of the miscommunication trope, AJ did an amazing job portraying how easy words and actions can be misconstrued. It really made the story feel honest and it made the end more satisfying.

While this may be a slow burn, I really appreciated how well AJ wrote this trope. It felt more mature and healthier for mending their relationship. Don’t get me wrong, the spice was definitely SPICIN once it hit!

Thank you so much AJ for the ARC opportunity!

This is book 3 in the Pain and Pleasure series and where Callan and Sterling make appearances, this book can be read as a standalone though I’m sure AJ has big plans for the future of this series.

Jaxon Monroe was a bright and successful salesman at Callan’s dealership until he decides to move home to Texas. He left Hollis Mendoza behind for college and hoped everything would be the same when he got back even though it had been over a decade. Hollis on the other hand had different plans because Jaxon leaving affected her very differently. It’s a Friends to Lovers trope that at first gave me an Enemies to Lovers feel only for them to work out each other’s misunderstandings of the event in question that kicked it all off. They are each other’s weakness and it was fun to watch how they both responded to each other, both when they were fighting and when they weren’t.

I could not put this book down and I read it non-stop. I couldn’t get enough of these two and truly can’t wait for more. This is a book that I have recommended to my friends because it was really that enjoyable for me.

There are triggers though as the book does touch on depression and attempted suicide (though this was off page, it was still mentioned) so be cautious if these are sensitive

Holy Sh*t. AJ, what did you put in this!? This is pure slow burn, tension building, panty soaking PERFECTION!!!!! 💙 Not only that, but these characters, this story, and the relatabilitiy of it all have plucked all my heart strings!

Hollis is absolutely 100% beautifully imperfect and it made me absolutely adore her. She is stubborn, and hated being vulnerable all of which I VERY much relate to. She found strength in living in her truth though and it made me and my heart just so happy 🥹💙

Then you have Jaxon. Oh AJ I love you sooooo much for writing him. He is the epitome of the saying " I am made entirely of flaws and stitched together with good intentions". And the man had my thighs cryyingggggg because oof the mouth on him 👍🙌👌🙃

AJ highlights so beautifully the struggles of emotions and communication in ANY relationship. She also delivers a beautiful story that made my heart and soul a little more full than it was before. THANK YOU

When I first started reading the Pain & Pleasure series, I totally feel in love with Jaxon Monroe in Crash & Burn. What can I say? I love a cocky pain in the ass like him! Now did I think I would get a book where Jax and Dakota got together when I first read? Absolutely…

But I’m so glad I was wrong because Hollis is my damn heart!

As any only child who is still terrified to disappoint my parents, I can relate to Hollis so much. Her entire backstory just tugs at my heart and makes me want to hold her. I feel so much of what she feels.

This childhood friends to strangers to lovers tale is my favorite in this series. The chemistry is palpable between our mains, and the miscommunication will have you wanting to scream for them to just get their shit together already.

This is an emotional read, but when you breakthrough the other side - much like real life trauma - it’s so fucking beautiful when you get there.

Much thanks to my dearest AJ for providing me with an ARC copy.

I enjoyed the overall story that this book follows. It was cute to see old friends reunite and fall in love again. However, I felt like there were somethings that happened that felt too extreme for the situation. The reasoning behind why they stopped talking was a large part for that. It was one of those embarrassing moments that she covered up well and then overreacted and blocked him from out of her life. It wasn't like he did anything, he just didn't want her to feel pressured. I also found it strange that she continued to blame Jaxon for everything bad that had happened in her life over the last 11 years. I felt that a was bit excessive. But it was really sweet to see how much Jaxon would do for Hollis. On the other hand, Hollis acted and spoke of how much she liked him, but then she blamed him for all of the bad crap that happened in her life. It was a bit strange. As much as I like them together theoretically, I feel like Jaxon was way to good for Hollis and all the stuff he put her through while he was trying to reconnect.

Lost & Found is the third book in the Pain & Pleasure series by AJ.

So when you think friends to lovers, you don’t normally think second chance romance AND friends to enemies to lovers. Which is what we get here but with so many more layers. Jax and Hollis are toxic both in their own ways and honestly in ways that make sense but still aren’t healthy. They both had a lot to work through but supported each other through it all, being the light at the end of the tunnel basically.

Jax left his hometown when he turned 18, leaving behind his best friend right after what she thought was him rejecting her and what he thought was him protecting her. This caused a rift in their friendship that they are now trying to navigate after 11 years of no communication when Jax moves back home.

He buys a car as an adult that they used to park in her Barbie dolls garage for Ken because it was her favorite toy car of his 🥹

What to expect when reading Lost & Found;
-Ex Best Friends
-Second Chance
-Enemies x Lovers
-Miscommunication
-Slow Burn

This is Book 3 of the Pain & Pleasure series.
Jaxson is going back home to get his girl because he doesn’t want anyone else. Hollis was broken in so many ways after Jaxson left and now that he is back she isn’t sure what to do. I enjoyed the book there were only a couple of things I wish were different… the main one is I felt like Jax was the only one trying to make things work and Hollis wasn’t having it, I get she was scared but you need two to tango girl. I’m a Jax stand!

Side Notes:
-not a raccoon

Favorite line: “Hollis, if you really want me to leave. I will. But I can’t guarantee that I will let you do this to me again. It means, if I have to walk out that door without you, I'm leaving. And I won’t be coming back again.”

Really 4.5 stars but semantics right. Anyways I received and ARC copy of Lost & Found and had trouble putting it down. It is a slow burn and some parts I wanted to rush it but I understood the need for the character development.

The trigger warnings were extremely helpful as someone who struggles with mental health and communication I really connected with Hollis. I did have to pause a few times to take a moment because the chapter was hitting a little too close to home.

This may not be a book for everyone and some may find the chapters set in past a bit taboo since they were best friends and Hollis was 14 and Jaxon was 17. There is no underage scenes in fact it's very respectfully written. I mean what 14 year old girl didn't have a crush on that older friend/classmate/celebrity.

A physical copy will def be added to my book trophy shelf.

AJ continues to write the most devastatingly beautiful love stories. Hollis and Jaxon are no exception to that. Childhood best friends, slow burn, all the tension, darker elements, and second chances.
Now that Hollis is dating their childhood bully, will Jaxon still stand a chance after everything that happened? I loved Hollis, she was strong and persistent regardless of her struggles. Jaxon was devastating in the best ways. Perfectly imperfect. AJ writes vulnerable and loveable characters, and you can feel the love she pours into her stories. Another absolute hit. A love story for the broken, for the ones struggling, for the ones who hold onto the light despite being in the darkest of pits. Truly beautiful. You did it again AJ. Well done.

I was lucky enough to be chosen as an ARC for this book. This book is about life best friends who are separated (for lack of a better word) and then find their way back.

CHARACTERS: Hollis and Jaxon

TROPES/TRIGGERS: Slow burn, second chances, implications of self harm (refers in the past tense), enemies to lovers vibes. For a full list of triggers see book list.

Overall, I loved this story! I love books that allow the reader to connect to the characters and can relate to their experiences. I loved this book so much that I even found myself getting really frustrated with Hollis and her lack of understanding and forgiveness. But also, as the book progresses, it’s easy to understand her hesitation and perspective. The book has highs and lows but I enjoyed the ride.

My favorite part of reviewing is the SPICE 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
This is a slow burn so the spice hits late, but oh man when it hits…. IT HITS! I give it 4/5!

There were some really beautiful moments and healing with these characters! It’s a must read ❤️

This book drove me CRAZY!! The miscommunication and self-sabotage were a little too relatable at times. I loved jumping back into this world and visiting character(s) we haven’t seen much of yet.

Hollis is such a dork in the best way. I love her style and sense of humor. I loved watching her continue to heal and grow and realize how far she’s come. This book will help you see that there will always be reasons to continue on.

I also loved the references to this lovely book community of ours! Monster smut and book boyfriends for life ✌🏻

“Love is not always meant to be soft and pastel colored. Sometimes the best love packs a punch.”

“Did you say book boyfriends? As in more than one? Hollis Marie, I'm pained.”

Amber, I’m thankful you decided to stay, too 🖤

This book is beautiful. This book deals with mental health in the most beautifully realistic way. Watching Jaxon and Hollis find there way back to eachother an absolute delight. I loved everything about this book.
A lot of books say they are connected stand alones, but you can't really read them alone without missing context. These are not that. They are connected, but you absolutely do not need to the other books to fully enjoy this one (highly suggest you do though!)
This is the third book in the Pain and Pleasure series By AJ Nicole and throughout the books you get to see her writing improve from amazing to even more amazing. Seeing her career take off has been so fun and I can't wait to see what next is in store in the world of AJ!

This book was an emotional roller coaster and I loved it. You can really feel Hollis’ emotions and struggles throughout the book.

Hollis and Jax are childhood best friends who lost connection when Jax went away to college. Jax comes back home after being away 11 years and fights for Hollis to be his friend again.

There is a slight misunderstanding trope in this but it doesn’t lead to a break up. It’s more of a slow burn romance until all their misunderstandings are taken care of.

Jax and Hollis were so sweet and you could tell that they fought so hard against their demons to come together. This is my first book from A.J. Nicole but not my last!

I think Jaxon and Hollis might be my favorite of the series! This one is EMOTIONAL! Their story is filled with so many secret feelings and hidden truths. They experience the heartbreak of growing up and growing apart. Hurting and healing leads to so much forgiveness and love of themselves and each other. The angst, tension and build up leads to some SPICY moments! I was completely melting by the end!

AJ Nicole writes romance that feels so real! These characters are flawed and human and they have “real life” problems that make their stories so relatable. I really loved this whole series and can’t wait to read more from this author!

Tropes:
-Friends to Enemies to Lovers
-Slow Burn
-Tatted MMC
-Battle Scars

WOW!!!. I absolutely devoured it this book. Was such a great a read. You have childhood best friends, slow burn, but all the tension, some dark themes and of course second chances. It definitely was an emotional roller-coaster. The character development was great. Especially when you go from the hurting and healing between the FMC and MMC. I loved seeing Jax and Hollis grow as a couple and get to know all of each other's flaws. Again, such a great read. Please check trigger warnings!

Thanks so much for the ARC!

This is a slow burn book with an amazing FMC (Hollis) that is easy to connect with. I love that it talks about a mental health issue that a lot of people suffer through, and it brings awareness. Then we have Jaxon who has a protective vibe, tattoos, and rides a motorcycle. Jax's battles with his demons of addiction and the never-ending struggle of never feeling quite enough, no matter how hard you try. This book reminds us of the beauty that lys within our emotions. It shows us to embrace the beauty in our emotions and to cherish the unique essence that makes us who we are, past trauma and all.

He’s four years her senior, but Jaxon and Hollis were best friends until they drifted apart. Stupid teenage boys.

Jaxon moved away (and worked for THE Callan David), leaving Hollis behind, who now still lives with her parents at the age of 25. We can unpack that later, but I can’t say I blame her.

After many years away, Jaxon comes back to town. Hollis isn’t aware until they bump into each other at a bar. THE TENSION! The anticipation! Are they on the same page? Are they now mortal enemies? Will they realize they’re still crushing (or more👀) on each other?!

Even though I don’t have blue hair anymore (I’m in my pink & orange era✨), Hollis and I seem to have a lot in common.
